Romeo's Romeo's, oh where to begin now Romeo's. The most recent trip to this hole of a pizza joint opened my eyes wide. For starters, roaches, little skittering gross insects scurrying around, I'll never forget them (been a minute but still). Strike 1. The sad staff looked high on drugs, pupils huge, either it's very dark where they bake the pies, even though I can see the prep area. Strike 2. This place was once a nice spot, but I think it started it's downward trend with it's breathtakingly rude GM, being terrible to employees in front of customers...is a bold choice, a bad one, but a bold one. Strike 3. Zero Stars - the food which we will never try again, isn't even as good as it once was - and to be honest, at its best - it was okay. So after 2 years of boycotting Romeo's based on my last review/experience, I gave them another try. The service was fine this time but I don't know if they changed the ingredients or recipe of the dough but the pizza was terrible. I used to love Romeo's pizza and ordered 2-4 times a month for over 10 years ever since they opened in Avon Lake. I just picked up a large Butcher-shop (which used to be my favorite) and a large cheese for the kids. It was $29.44 on BOGO 50% Tuesday (wow did the prices go up but I guess that's everywhere). It definitely does not taste like it used to. The crust was so heavy and dense it tasted like cardboard. The sauce was the same (which is good). I put Romeo's now in the Little Caesar's/CiCi's pizza/Chuckie Cheese category now. I think I am done. read more

This pizza used to be the best of my local choices. It was a chain but a good one. It was elite. It had the best sauce and a perfectly chewy and pillowy pan crust. I had a pizza today after not having it in maybe a year? and idk if it's just a fluke or if they have cheapened their ingredients and stuff like every business is doing, but it went from being such a good pizza to the quality of a little cesar's meets dominoes. this pie didn't have that sweet sauce flavor, it was oddly chewy in a ~tastes stale~ kinda way (maybe it was over cooked?), the cheese tasted like the cheap shredded cheese that's kinda plasticky when it melts, and it was SO greasy the bottom of the box is a puddle. I am SO sad cause I truly think this place fell off but if it's cause they decided to cheap out then.... that's on them. Bring back the old pizza and I will come back but until then, I can't recommend this read more

I just picked up a sheet pizza from this location and I don't know what is happening to Romeo in general but if it wasn't for my four hungry kids diving into the boxes and grabbing slices of just cheese or the old world pepperoni on my other half sheet I would of returned it and asked for my money back! They switch I swear to a cheaper cheese that why it looks stretchy after being cooked with little bubbles also , Whoever made there signature sauce today either didn't mix it right or cut back on the sugar to save costs because it wasn't as sweet as there sauce normally is! It's sad that probably because of the pandemic that good pizza company's cut so many corners and there customers are the ones that have to suffer with cheap lousy pizza ! By far, the best of the chains in the Avon Lake area. Pizza is always done right, and the toppings are generous. For those of you who care about such things, we like the fact that they don't dice their vegetables, making for more flavorful toppings. One might argue that the sauce is too sweet (as both our kids do), but the parents are fans. Points off for having no ricotta in their calzones, which technically makes them just foldovers and not really calzones, right? read more

I am fairly picky as I am vegan but I am telling you Romeos makes the best HANDS down vegan pizza! It was orgasmic! Ordered extra sauce every veggie...it Even had broccoli and pineapple! This is a chain and it's not the best pizza I have ever had but it gets 5 stars from me for being the best chain pizza out there. I have never had a bad order from this Romeo's and I have been coming here for years. They are always very friendly and my orders are always done on time. Ordered two pizzas today: Tuscan Pepperoni and a Margherita with rounds of mozzarella, a touch of pesto and grilled chicken (extra). The pepperoni pizza had a very thin bottom crust ( I didn't order thin) with a sweet red sauce and salami-like dominoes of pepperoni. The cheese did not adhere to the sauce so that left it too wet for a traditional Tuscan Pizza as promised. The margherita pizza was very disappointing. Slathered in sweet red sauce and topped with tiny medallions of mozzarella, it could have been eaten with a straw. The pizza strained under the weight of sauce and the thumbnail slices of cheese were unable to hold the pizza together, let alone give it a cheesy flavor. I was majorly disappointed for a $31 price tag (and it came with a $5 off deal). read more

I had ordered pizza and they said 40 minutes, I called them at 70 minutes figuring they couldn't find the address, when I called they said they lost my information but when I called them back they knew who I was. Didn't offer any rectification. I was so pissed. Will never order again. And I really like their pizza. read more

Pizza is pretty good, but the last two times I've ordered, they screwed it up. The first time, we ordered "white" pizza (with garlic butter sauce), but they made it with regular sauce. Tonight (a Sunday night...almost no one there), we ordered pizza online for pick up at a certain time; came in 10 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, and they hadn't even put it in the oven yet! It ended up being 25 minutes late. And they didn't say/do anything to recognize the issue. Anyways, probably not going back. read more
