I went back the next day to try more and got a buffalo chicken slice to eat there and a chicken caesar wrap to take to work later. Everything was so good. The wrap was light but very filling, and the buffalo chicken slice was so good I ordered a second one to go before I even left. Romeo's Pizza is now under new management and they are taking things up a notch from a regular pizzeria into an exciting local spot with delicious new favorites. Not to mention their staff is extra kind to boot! Not many pizzerias can say they make their own homemade mozzarella, and theirs was so creamy and fresh! When there's rice balls on the menu, you know, I'm ordering it! Again, not something you typically see on standard pizzeria menus. I devoured theirs! The buffalo calamari was perfectly crispy with a bold kick! I really enjoyed the twist on a classic appetizer. Served with ranch on the side, delicious! The spicy piggy pizza had me sold with dollops of ricotta, fresh prosciutto and hot honey! Man oh man this was delicious, all the components of the pizza coming together so nicely. The crème de la crème was Bobby's triple threat pizza. A Sicilian pie with tomato, pesto and vodka sauce. Truly a masterpiece! The trio of sauces blend excellently in each bite. And of course we had to test if their plain slice passed the test. Happy to report it was a solid 10 out of 10! We ended our meal with some of their amazing fresh zeppoles. They have a small, clean dining area with classic red and white plaid tablecloth. The vibe feels familiar, like you're at a family member's house. The penne Vodka creamy and light good portion for a lunch size. Allthis for about $30 so very mutual with the pricing y'all decide on that. Cons The slice so thick, a lot of breeding. Website: 4/5 It has the standard pizzeria template produced by Slice for its menu items with a flat generic description at the bottom. It is easy to navigate nonetheless, for you are immediately brought to the menu where it lists many items there. However, only a few of the menu items had images accompanying them. Brand: 5/5 The overall brand effuses the standard Italian pizzeria, for there is a large Italian chef statue greeting any customers from behind the glass window, and there are plenty of menu items available behind the glass counters. The sign does make use of font with the cursive "Romeo's" and the bold, straight letters of "Pizza." Ambiance: 4/5 The environment definitely brought me at ease, for the presence of food behind the counters and the large space of the table sufficed enough. Although the table we chose did have an uneven rickety stance, I would say that I felt comfortable throughout the time. The space did not accommodate the customer area, though I did not have a problem with it. The new management expressed interest in the past to putting up on the wall canvases produced by local artists. Indeed, the walls did not have any personality that distinguishes Romeo's Pizza from any other pizzeria. Service: 5/5 The staff were incredibly accommodating with good rapport. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Buffalo Calamari and a bottle of water, which also came with a bowl of bleu cheese sauce and two lemon slices. One of the staff said "That looks good," and I could not agree more. This is the first time I ever had calamari and I am truly grateful for this first experience. While it did have a sharp smell that stayed, it nevertheless had the savory taste that had spiciness but not too much. Worth The Money?: 5/5 Romeo's Pizza's signature dish is the House of Jumbo Pizza, which is a thin crust pizza filled with many toppings evenly portioned. I could see how it could serve as part of catering for a celebration. If the staff encapsulated the establishment into an aphorism, it would be something like "Quality is what we strive for." Indeed, I would like to see that ideal of quality to become the cornerstone of Romeo's Pizza. I could see it with that Buffalo Calamari. I felt the pleasant, fulfilled ambiance that the food brought me within the restaurant and throughout the day. With the right amount of spiciness and heartiness, the Buffalo Calamari was the meal that I had no regrets trying. The wait time appropriately fitted the meal's preparation, and the service fitted. Despite the narrow space of the pizzeria, it did not outweigh the food I ordered, for it reflected the Italian pizzeria characteristic of cooking a traditional Italian dish with a modern twist. Nothing about the ambiance disrupted me during our wait time, not even the rickety table. If new management is in charge of Romeo's Pizza, then I would suggest renaming the establishment, since another, unrelated "Romeo's Pizza" exists in the same township in Raintree Plaza. This one is in Cousin's Plaza, so maybe the new name could be "Cousin Romeo's Pizza?" I would also recommend adding more images of the menu items to the website's menu. Also, if the new management is open to decorating the walls with canvases, I would be curious as to what the common themes would be. I will ultimately say that the price is worth it. The staff seemed friendly, the place was clean , and the food came out pretty quickly. I got a chicken cheesesteak. The bread was crispy which I enjoyed. and the chicken was good but kinda flavorless with the cheese. I feel as if it was missing something. I enjoyed the lettuce and tomato on it. The price was fair. Romeos seems to be falling short over the past few years. As a local pizza source, I have been a customer of Romeos for many years. I have to say that things are falling apart. I remember a time when this place was operated by the person who once owned Palumbo's Pizza. It's been ages since I saw the original owner in any of the Romeo's locations. More is the pity. My last 3 pizza purchases have been very disappointing. At best, the pizzas have tasted like dish water. The tomato sauce has tasted very watered down. Today, I purchased 2 pizzas from Romeo's. The plain pie was the same as the last 3 pies I purchased. As usual, it tasted like dish water. The Sicilian pie was GROSS. There were several black hairs on this pie! I was once a devoted customer, but as time has passed, this place has become a great disappointment. I will no longer buy a Romeo's pizza (or any other item from their menu) again. PIZZA REVIEW: having been a big fan of pizza for well over 40 years plus lol, I can honestly say I have an idea what I believe good pizza is an again what it is not. For me it's typically always thin crust with a slightly crisp bottom and not too much dough on the bone. Then it's all about the gravy kids. The sauce must be a perfect medium between acid and sweetness and evidence of tomato chunks & garlic. Well the crust is thin & crispy on the bottom but a lil doughy on the bone. The sauce lacked flavor big time as the crowd goes boo and barley a dollop on the slice. Also a bit over burdened with mozzarella cheese. Now the slices are large, but the pizza is just okay. I do not settle for just ok pizza unless I'm in midnight munchie mode. Sorry Romeo perhaps Juliet needs to give you another lesson in the art of gravy making. No. Waited an hour and 20 minutes for delivery on a weekday. All the food came cold. Buffalo calamari was so chewy it was hard for me to swallow. Veal Parm tasted horrible... hard and overcooked. Sauce tastes like chef Boyardee. Pizza was good but ice cold. Called to complain about the food being cold because I didn't want to tell them it tasted awful and was cold. Buried in the back of the Cousins Plaza shopping center on Rt. 33, you are immediately greeted by a wonderful aroma as you enter the door that says "Eat here!" The chicken francaise is delightful and the chicken pizzaiola even pleased my finicky mom. But this is just the warmup to the piece de resistance, their pizza.
