Stopped in for a quick lunch after a trip to Livoti's. Friendly greeting from the owner Nick. Tried two slices, the grandma style with burrata and a regular slice with sausage. Both were excellent, with delicious sauce and cheese, and perfectly chewy crust. La Portena's grilled chicken salad also pleased with a large portion of moist bird and fresh veggies. We order from them constantly they come to our house. Their food is delicious. Their pizza is amazing so I definitely recommend them.

Spent $103 dollars tonight on a pizza, salad, chicken fingers, dessert, and 30% tip. Food arrived 20 minutes late on an early Sunday evening. Pizza was undercooked and had an obnoxious amount of sauce on it. Dough was raw in the middle and pizza toppings and cheese were rubbery and inedible. Called to complain. Only given 50% refund on the cost of the pizza. I've been ordering here since 2008. This will be my last order at any Romeo's location. Absolutely horrible read more

Pleasantly surprised! I haven't had Romeo's in years, and have been disappointed by most of the local pizza places so we've been getting pizza from the neighboring towns. But sometimes you just want a good place close to home and I hope I've found it in this place. We got a Brooklyn square pie and it was hot, saucey and the dough was perfect. We used Romeo's for our son's birthday party. We ordered 11 pizzas from them. I spoke with the manager who was very helpful in determining number of pies to order. I ordered mostly generics pie toppings which were all great. I also ordered their Green hulk and the Hot Honey Roni Red. They were big hits with our guests. We used to love this place we are a large family and order pizza and dinners once a week, unfortunately we no longer frequent Romeo's because every time we ordered pizzas they came ruined. Not cooked, cheese and toppings on one side, the middle completely inedible. Same thing with a Stromboli. The dinner portions have shrunk and the taste of the sauce has been a little thick and gross, almost like straight tomato paste. We won't call again read more

Originally from Long Island, New York, I am a pizza snob. I currently live one hour west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The pizza there is subpar to say the least. I only come down this way (Freehold) when I am going for spinal doctor appointments. My first time at Romeo's pizza in Freehold, New Jersey was back in July 2017. Originally, I was in the mood for garlic knots, and this place came up on Yelp. There are several (two I think) Romeo pizza places in the area, but the one at Village Center Drive (Rain Tree Plaza) had much better reviews. Therefore, I drove the extra 2 miles from my doctor's office to get there. Nick, one of the owners of Romeo's, was simply amazing. His pizza was even better. And the garlic knots...the best I've had in years, even compared to New York. I didn't think I'd ever be back to this pizza joint, but unfortunately I had to have a another back surgery. I don't know if it's an even trade off, but I will not be coming down here without getting pizza from Romeo's. Originally, (July), I thought I did a review for this place, but apparently I did not, or it did not show up. I brought my husband with me this time, and he agreed that this was one of the best pizza joints that we have been to in so long. In comparison to my favorite New York style pizza on Long Island, I would rank this near the top. We had a margarita slice, a white slice, and two upside down slices. We also indulged in the unforgettable garlic knots. Nick even remembered me from July! Do yourself a favor! If you want real, New York style pizza, go to Romeo's. My go to for everything.. literally out in Freehold from NY for 2 years now, Nicky (the boss) takes care of all his customers with his employees and makes sure everything is up to par. I have never been let down by a single item in there. If you want something you don't see, ASK! They are very compliant with anything the customers ask for. Want a recommendation? ASK! Found a new standard pizza place. Authentic Italian cuisine. I came from New York and miss the New York Style pizza. And this place brought it back for me. Growing up here with all Italian Friends I can spot good food. The older Italian grand ma at the cash register looks to be in charge and good thing. Their sauce is straight from the old country.
