Up in New Jersey for a wedding and we decided to hit Krispy Pizza after I had seen so many REELS on Facebook and Instagram. I knew this would be my kind of pizza. No, why this place is always busy and while the food is very good and while this pasta was a kid size and it was a lot of pasta and pretty much got everything for about $15. The fact that there was absolutely no vodka sauce is kind of embarrassing just dry the noodles with no sauce basically little underwhelming, and the fact that this was my second choice because my first choice was closed. Went here saturday afternoon and they had a lot of people eating in their dining and getting to go. They are definitely overhyped. The only thing I liked was their cheesesteak roll. The crust was not good I just ate the part with toppings and threw out the crust. Sicilian riceball was dry and needs flavor. Pizza in New Jersey is subjective. I can only describe and you make your choice. Crust was good had a light crisp ( no pun intended) like a bakery loaf. Soft enough to break up in your hand. Cheese was of good quality and sauce was slightly sweet the tomato's were super juicy, garlic was there but not over powering. Kristy Pizza is exactly that! I work in the local hospital and often Kristy Pizza is the catering choice. Their vodka pie, chicken parm pie, white pie, Sicilian pie - all stand up to the slice test. Wow never seen a busier pizzeria on a Friday night. It was like Grand central station in here. There had to be 20 people working behind the counter making pizza or ringing people up. Dining room was full too. We ordered the tricolor pizza with the pesto, vodka, and regular tomato sauce. The pizza had good flavor but crust wasn't good. I couldn't bite through it easily. My family and I recently found out about this pizzeria and it's become our new hot spot to dine out. Their pizza selection is diverse, but the dough and sauce is what makes this place stand out from other local pizzerias and living in freehold for over twenty years, we tried them all! They offer different sizes, but large seems to feed a family of five pretty well. It's not too oily or greasy, but also the right about of cheese and sauce oven baked making the dough taste that much better. We usually play safe and go with their plain pizza, but sometimes their pepperoni option is good too. They aren't called Krispy pizza for no reason, their crusts are slightly crispy, has that slight crunch, but nothing hard to where it hurts your jaw to chew. Their price seems also fair and pretty competitive to the local pizzerias making this place certainly well rounded. If you choose to dine in, there are ample amounts of parking and the restaurant is fairly quiet, certainly great place for a family dinner. This is my go to pizza spot in freehold. Their pesto pie with a sub for fresh mozzarella is to die for. My favorite is grabbing slices to go, typically the grandma, Margherita, and Paloma. Scheduled a class on the Freehold area months ago, and immediately planned to stop in and sample some of their pizza. During my hour lunch, I drove the 20 minutes to get there. So glad I did! I arrived a little after noon and would not say they were crowded but they were doing a brisk business. I ordered a plain round slice and a plain Sicilian slice from the stores display pies. The staff was very friendly and attentive. After heating, they boxed them up and I retreated to my vehicle to sample. The round slice was crispy with no flop and a great undercarriage. The taste was amazing!!! Not greasy and the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. The Sicilian, a corner slice, was also crispy on the bottom with a soft pillowy top. Again a perfect ratio. Full disclosure, I'm from northern NJ and have access to amazing pizza. I rate these two slices right up there. I'm so glad I made the trip to Krispy Pizza. It was so worth it!! read more
