I saw a picture of a bar pie and that it was byob so jetted to make a reservation. 7pm on Friday place was packed. All good signs for a night out. Most patrons had wine glasses, I wanted to keep it crazy and poured a beer since it is byob. Paired with home made crusty mini rolls, a large bowl of soup and big chairs to unwind great spot to bring the whole family. Not to mentioned there's a pizza type for everyone. The elegant decor featuring family photos and warm lighting created the perfect backdrop for a perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful meal. We've been wanting to come here after reading the reviews on social media about how they're the best, etc. We came here one day after work and were excited about eating here. The restaurant is very romantic, with the place being dimly lit to set the mood. Disc pendant lights hang over the restaurant and each table has a small lamp in the middle as well. Black and white photos on canvases adorn the walls, along with decorative plates and shelves too. There are cylindrical sconces on the walls as well, while tomato sauce cans line the mounted shelves. Victoria was our server. We had ordered the following: Large calamari fra diavolo with linguini over medium spicy sauce- this was ok but they were cheap with the calamari. There wasn't much seafood but there was a lot of pasta. Large caesar salad - Hubs thought this was no big deal and tasted like they bought it from Costco. Extra Large pizza with half sausage and half garlic- we did this because Hubs is on Lent diet but daughter and I weren't. I was very disappointed with the pizza. Like I said, we ordered half sausage and half garlic, but we got a couple of slices with mushroom and the rest were all garlic. When Victoria came with our other orders, I even asked her which slices had the sausage because the place was a little dark and we couldn't see. She was looking for it and pointed to the slice. She lied because it was a mushroom but we were waiting for her to come back to check on us so that we can tell her that we didn't get sausages on half the pie as we ordered. But, she never came back. At the end, she handed the check to us and ran. We didn't realize that she wrote the wrong order down and wrote half mushroom and half garlic, until we got home. There were only 2 slices that maybe had some mushrooms and the rest were garlic. I was upset because this was a $30 pie and it wasn't our fault that she wrote down the wrong order. Needless to say, service was blah and not there. Will not be returning to try other items on the menu. I know other people may have more positive experiences than we did but I didn't experience anything positive here on the evening we came here. read more

She wanted to take our order almost as soon as we sat down. We asked for bread, and once again the waitress asked us for the order. This request for our order was asked again and again! My wife ordered a meal from the special menu, and asked for the meal to be served very heat hot, it was served warm, NOT hot. I asked for a medium fresh made pizza with pepperoni and sausage. This place was reasonably priced and generous with their pizza toppings. I also really liked the bake on the pizza, nice and crisp. I really like this restaurant, been coming here for years. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Had dinner last night with a bunch of my friends. The salads were very good. Some of the main dinners came with vegetables that were not fresh they were frozen. Actually a few of the broccoli pieces were still frozen on my plate. The pasta sauce is very sweet. no no no. Lazy cooking, no flavor. Tomato sauce just not that great. Chucken Cacciatorre was a preslugged chicken breat filet with some mushrooms and o uons thrown into the tomato sauce and poured over it. Never heard of that when most restaurants use whole chicken pieces as is proper. The chicken parm was tasteless, and the mozzarella a stiff unmelted cheap piece of what tasted like supermarket mozz or a sliver of white plastic. Thats was my 2nd try there. The first the Chicken Franchaise was made by someone who just doesnt know how to make it. No wine, no butter, and what seemed to taste like that reconstipated lemon juice squeezed from a toy bottle. Pay a lil more and try a local pizza place for better food. Two stars for a nice eating space and good tasting butter chip packets. read more

Wow! After being a customer for close to 20 years, what a poor experience we had tonight for dinner. Had we gotten there 10 minutes earlier, we would have been able to have a complete meal under the early bird. 10 minutes later only the early bird caught the worm, because we were not given bread or salad, offered to order appetizers and our off the regular menu entrees came out so fast as if they were pre-made and they weren't anything close to spectacular like the old days of Mezza Luna! We didn't even know salad was nit included even though their online menu says it does. So disappointed! We won't be back at any price!!! read more

We eat at Mezza Luna for dinner every few months. Decided to try the Early bird special twice this month. Was extremely disappointed in the consistency between the first and second visit. Initial visit had a more complex salad than expected, protein/pasta portions were a good size. Second visit, salad was now the usual lettuce/cuke/half grape tomato. The entree/pasta portions were extremely small. We had salmon which barely looked like 3 oz and irregularly shaped. The chicken francaise was much smaller than first visit and there was barely any pasta, even for a lunch size portion Not sure which visit was the exception. Service was good as always. Desserts that come with the dinner should be reconsidered. Cakes were much too dry. read more

I have a habit of making sure my silverware is clean when I go into a restaurant. At Mezza Luna I had to check all the dinner ware. My glass had residue from the dishwasher drying agent, the pitcher of water had a brown substance on it that you could wipe off with your (dirty?) napkin, every plate was chipped (seriously! Every plate was chipped!) and I was scared to eat off of my dinner plate. I complained to the waitress and returned all the dirty dinnerware and water pitcher. I embarrassed my friend who I went with so she had to leave an extra tip! Some (most) people probably overlook these things and no I don't have OCD but I'm warning you to always check these things because restaurants don't! Mezza Luna was a horrible experience and I don't understand why they get so many good reviews. People age but that's no excuse to be stupid! Our waitress was great! read more

We are frequent patrons that will not return due to a steady deterioration. During our most recent dinning we experienced price increase, smaller salad, shrimp parmigiana that looked like an appetizer (medium rather than jumbo shrimp as in past) , "five" dollar up-charge for meat sauce (ridiculous) and advised frequent patron points are no longer available with early bird specials. We've catered food for many parties throughout the years but recently the past 3 times we ordered within the last 2 months, the food is horrible! Nothing tastes the same, the pizza is gross, and the pasta and vodka sauce tastes nothing like it used to! Idk what is going on, if maybe they are skipping out on good ingredients, or new cooks? Five stars. I have been coming here with my family for years since we lived down in the area. The appetizers are always excellent we always get the hot antipasto the pastas are enormous. I am a creature of habit and I get their vodka sauce no tomatoes no peas and prosciutto with bowties. You can eat out of the bowl for three days straight. Chicken Saltimbocca is also a entrée that I always tend to stick with as well. The service has always been wonderful and I love coming here, great pizza as well!! read more
