Booked a stay here in February with my best friend for 5 days and had such an amazing time. This was an Adults ONLY stay, and would definitely recommend staying here. From the moment I walked in, I was obsessed with the vibe. The interior itself is sleek and moody with gorgeous black finishes paired with lush greenery all around. Such a perfect aesthetic. Honestly right up my alley. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were helpful, warm, and really added to the overall positive energy to the stay. I thought it was really cute that they have activities at the hotel. On Thursday night they had a House Warming with a DJ at their "The Lei Stand" at their bar. They also do other Hotel Happening: Yoga, Tarot Readings, Hula, etc. This is really great for the guests! Can't wait to stay here again :) read more

Stay away- BED BUGS! What started as a promising stay quickly turned into a nightmare. The first sign of trouble was the dirty toilet seat in the room, which had yellow pee stains on it when we arrived. The bed bugs showed up on the first morning. We noticed them crawling from under the pillow along with blood stains on the sheets. We quickly jumped out of bed and checked under the pillows and found dozens more. We checked the 2nd bed which was a similar story. The most disturbing thing was what appeared to be old, brown blood stains on the pillows and sheets- as if this has been an ongoing problem and full blown infestation. The staff came up for an inspection and were not apologetic. They offered us another room, but we did not want to risk one more night in this hotel, so booked a room at the Outrigger Beachcomber nearby. We were granted a full refund upon request and check out. We threw away our pj's and immediately went to a laundry mat to clean all of our things so we wouldn't carry any bugs or eggs home. This killed 4-5 hours and ruined our plans for the day. We effectively lost a day of vacation time. Furthermore, when I got home, I had to deep clean my things and quarantine them in plastic bags. Despite these measures, I woke up with multiple bites this morning, several days after arriving home from O'ahu. I'm hoping and praying this is not from any eggs I carried home that hatched. What started as a nice vacation in paradise turned in a massive headache and nightmare thanks to Romer House. read more

I'll start by saying the staff is very kind and welcoming. They were accommodating as well. The built in restaurant (855 aloha) is convenient and has great food. I had to take off 2 stars because my room felt very cramped and I also had a terrible view of a block wall. The window was in the corner of the room so I had no natural light as well, it was only tolerable because I spent a majority of my stay outside my room. The pool area is just ok, a small pool with lots of lined up chairs. My room was clean but not spectacular, just basic wiping, sometimes they'd miss things. They have areas they can improve for sure. It's not a bad option, there's walkable food, street parking all close by but it's definitely not right on the beach. About an 8 minute walk to the water. If you're looking for an average accommodation and prioritize good customer service it's a good choice. read more

Pros: Location, great staff, valet parking Easy to walk anywhere in Waikiki. A side road, so pretty quiet from the street. Valet is always nice and valet team are great. Beautifully decorated hotel. Cons: Someone was knocking on our door at 1am. Was an impaired person looking for someone. Once my husband told him twice that he had the wrong room, he continued on the floor knocking on doors. They should consider a card only elevator or better security. I would've panicked if I was alone. People walking in the hallway from a night out talking and it was very loud. Quiet area signs may help. Or insulated doors. In short, I wouldn't stay again since we had hardly any sleep due to the phantom knocker and loud guests in the hallway. But, cute hotel. read more

The rooms are great. It's clean with comfortable sheets and bed. The amenities are great and convenient. The pool is only 4 feet deep and small. Luckily, not many goes to the pool. Otherwise, it can get crowded easy. The down side of this place is parking. When we arrived to check in, we did not know where to park as they do not have drive way. They only have valet parking for $55 a night. There are no signs where to park. We had to circle around the place twice to figure out that we can park in front of the place, put our emergency lights on then flag down one of the valet personnel. Give some time when you take your car out as there is only one worker to retrieve your car from their garage. If there are few parties requesting for their cars, it can take some time. I would recommend the place but parking situation has to be improved. read more

Adults only hotel, free of kids making it a little more relaxing. To begin, the staff at the front desk can either be very nice or passive aggressive. Ariel was very kind, welcoming and patient. Resorts fees are quite expensive if you're staying for a week but that's as expected. They have a confusing policy of what gets refunded back to your card. The hotel has a nice aroma as you walk in. Room cleaning: We were told rooms get cleaned every other day, since check in we had to wait after 2 days to get our room cleaned, then it was every other day, I'm not sure if maybe they're short staffed and it's difficult to keep up with the cleaning? I feel it's standard to have a hotel at least make the beds daily and change towels daily. When we first arrived, our room did not have the complementary shampoo and conditioner in the shower, only the body wash. It was then placed back when our room was finally cleaned. The complementary shower products, soap and lotion smell pleasant. The shower has little to no door, which gets the bathroom very wet, we were told by a different hotel staff member to use the small towel as it's a "bath mat". Our rooms shower didn't have any shelf to put our bath products down on. Not sure if lights were on a timer or motion sensor, but they would turn on and off at random times. The mini fridge is not that cold, has no freezer compartment. The water machine was down for a couple days towards the end of our trip which was a bummer since that's one of the benefits of this hotel having reusable water bottles provided. When we asked a staff member about it, he said the machine would be getting fixed that day and it still wasn't fixed unfortunately. There is no room service to order food. The beds are extremely comfortable and the air conditioning works well. Our room had a window that didn't open but had a cute little view of downtown. The pool has good hours open for availability and you can order food and drinks which is great. Personally felt like the pool was a little too warm for the summer heat everyday but it was a relaxing environment. I stayed here for 5 nights during my stay in Waikiki. I stayed in their standard room on the 5th floor. Here are my pros and cons of the hotel: Pros: - The location was great. It's easy to walk to the Royal Hawaiian Center and all the shopping centers - It's also not that far from the beach and they provide towels if needed - They have bike rentals if you want - The bed was comfortable enough and I slept fine - They have an onsite bar and restaurant that was pretty good - We got 2 free non-alcoholic drink cards and $100 credit to spend on whatever we wanted - The pool area was cool - They have some complementary classes and a schedule if you like but we did not participate in any of it - Elevators were quick and easy Cons: - The check-in process was painfully slow. We had to wait for the person before us and the guy who finally checked us in had to sense of urgency. He was very nice but we would have preferred faster service. - I got the standard room and the room was a little small to me and too dark - The restroom sink was small and not many places to store anything on the counter - The shower also didn't have anywhere to place your items besides on the ground. The water also kind of went everywhere if you use the overhead one. - There was no vanity area. There was a makeup mirror which I brought out to do my makeup at by where the coffee machine was but the lighting was atrocious - They don't have an on-site gym. You can go to their sister hotel which is about a few blocks away - They only have valet parking. Sometimes there is street parking but it is difficult to find - They use to be all adult but that is no longer the case Overall, it was fine for the amount of days I stayed but probably wouldn't stay here again. If you're looking for a luxe experience then this is not it but if you're looking for a spot that's in the area and easy to get everywhere then this is worth considering. read more

Booked a staycation for Halloween weekend at the Romer House Waikiki and would 100% pick this place again for another Waikiki staycation. There are so many perks for Kamaʻāina! No resort fees 20% off their room rate Early check-in at noon and late check-out at 2pm Discounted valet at $25 This is an adult only hotel, so no kids running around here. But they are dog friendly! There is a $150 dog fee, and you put down an extra $100 deposit. Some hotels provide dog bowls or treats but unfortunately this hotel does not. My dog had the best time here though! This is more for the folks who love being in all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki with the International Marketplace right across the street, tons of amazing food options all around, plus an amazing bar and restaurant in the hotel. With our dog, I loved that it was close to the Ala Wai so we could take him on walks around the canal. With all the kamaʻāina perks, I'm definitely going to book again for our next staycation. read more

The rooms looked quite fancy and chiche, but lost it's charm due to the impractical shower panels and lack of counter space. It was a tad bit noisy due to the cloistered design of the rooms. Got some credit from the hotel and spent it in the japanese fusion restaurant downstairs. Food was decent but was a miss in my books. I really loved this place and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in honolulu. Service: Great service and the front desk was really helpful in making sure our stay was great. Even prepared breakfast for us even though it was before the breakfast hours as we had to leave early. Location: the location of this place is really good as there is everything anyone needs within walking distance. Malls, food, market, beach all within 5~10 min walk. Rooms: Other than a few things like a/c not working, the front lights sometimes not working it was clean and great. Food: Breakfast was so good, I would recommend people getting breakfast here at least once. The loco moco, mochi pancakes, and the burrito were my favorite items here. Parking: other than valet which I believe was around $55+ it is incredibly difficult to find. Best would be to park a little further away and walk. Amenities: There were a lot of things they offered like a gym (need to walk around 10 min to get to), paddle boarding, and free wifi. read more

Booked Romer House via Costco travel. We booked for adult only and location close to International marketplace. We didn't bring the kids so I had to try an adult only hotel. It was quiet and didn't hear a peep! I had a wonderful stay at Romer House. Front desk was friendly upon arrival. No problems checking in. We had a balcony facing Nahua Ave. I didn't get into pool but it was adequate but small and heated. I didn't try the food at restaurant or bar but it smelled great at dinner time. I read a couple bad reviews on Yelp and still decided to give them a try. I'm glad I took a chance. The only review I was worried about strict no smoking policy and some guests getting charged and do not smoke. We do not smoke and get doors shut. While my wife straightened her hair, we did open balcony door. I didn't want to take a chance. Location was ideal and perfect! Marugame Udon is around the corner. International marketplace is a stones throw away. Thank you Romer House! read more

We stayed overnight after our daughter recommended it. My husband had a heart procedure in Oahu so it was a quick trip from Kona. The hotel has been open about a year and is directly across from the International Marketplace. Perfect in terms of proximity to shops and dining. We ended up having a few bites at Herringbone and Stripsteak as well as picking up great pastries. The boutique hotel couldn't have been better. Location, coziness, service. Although due to hours we didn't eat there there are two restaurants available and we will try next visit. Super friendly staff. Spent our very early morning exit speaking with the nicest gentleman who is from our hometown of Kona. Love the mid century vibe. Blessed we were able to pass on info for this great spot to all of our uber drivers and medical staff. Definitely love the kamaina rates no resort fees. Only cons no tea available in room and that small shower door as you will be cleaning up water. read more

Stayed here with my daughter in the double bed room. We had a balcony, they moved us higher when we checked in as they said the 2nd floor might be noisy. I liked that we were close to the International market, new Target and busy areas but a little off to the side so you didn't feel too close. Street parking is a hot commodity. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom as well and had nice toiletries. We felt safe here and would come back! The restaurant downstairs was yummy and we were able to have dinner without a reservation. Morning coffee wasn't included and would have been a nice perk, just a drip, nothing fancy. Paid for the drip and it was okay. Didn't go in the pool at all but seemed nice. The staff was all very friendly and courteous. read more

Just stayed here friday-saturday and it was such a vibe. The esthetic of this hotel is modern, luxe with it's dimmed lights ambience. Amazing customer service, the room was clean and still smelt brand new. I stayed in a 1 bedroom, king bed 1 bath. There's a beautiful restaurant in the lobby and across the lobby Romers has their own bar. The ac was great, king bed was super comfy, ample storage for a 1 bedroom with 2 guests. The food was delicious!! I'd definitely come back here again. There was a pool but i didn't get to check it out. The Hotel itself was cute and clean! But the customer service could have been better in my opinion. The first night and check in process was good, but the next day was not so pleasant. They did not clean our room and did not tell us that they clean the rooms every other day, which I did not like either. Plus you have to contact them about the cleaning because they may forget or come late evening to clean!! Also, the last night we called for towels and they said they will bring it up but never dig. Further, if you sit on the side of the street you CANNOT sleep you hear everything going and one night we were woken up by some people fighting in the middle of the street! I feel they need to do something about the outside noises for customers. The rooms were clean and outside bar area by the pool, but I am not sure if I will stay here again. They do have a Dj at night that's is amazing though which was a plus!! Good vibes for adult only hotel. Nice hotel but needs improvement ok customer service! read more

Booked through Costco for 5 nights which included $100 credit. Overall, decent for the price. Checking in was quick. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel was located near the International Market Place and 10 min walk to the beach. Some things that weren't so great. 1) Breakfast prices were very high for the food that was offered. 2) We wanted to get fresh towels without room service. We kept asking for bath towels not beach towels. But they kept bringing up beach towels. 3) Check out took way too long. No express check out. You have to wait in line to get the bill and settle your account. Still waiting in line and it's been 30 mins. The line hasn't really moved. By the time we're done it'll probably be 1 hour or more. Stay was comfortable but there's a lot that needs to change. read more

I've stayed at the Ambassador which used to be the sister property to here before they sold to Hilton. That was a much better stay than this. The shower setup is atrocious. Water gets everywhere and the water pressure is non-existent. Tourists just want a simple shower with adequate water pressure that actually gets you clean - especially after being at the beach all day. This isn't it. The rooms are incredibly loud, car alarms all night, trash trucks emptying dumpsters at 5am, delivery trucks running outside at 6am, music blasting all night from the hotel across the street. Not at all a relaxing and enjoyable stay. There are better options in Waikiki at the same price point. read more

I am writing this review based on a stay by my daughter and her friends. They booked 3 nights at Romer House Wikiki via Expedia to celebrate her birthday. The hotel was nice enough and the staff were ok. The rooms were a bit noisey, but other than that, no issues. The issue was on checkout when they were presented with a "smoking report" based on "technology". My daughter was told that smoking was detected in the room and they had to pay a $500 fee. When she disputed it and said that no one smokes, the guy said well you just need to dispute it with your bank because there is nothing that I can do. She asked him to go to the room and check for himself. His reply was "there is no need for me to go to the room cause we have **technology** for that"! This is insane! How can you just arbitrarily assign a fee to a room w/o even trying to confirm the customer's response that they do not smoke?! This is such a scam! I saw another person's review a few days ago that experienced the same issue. DO NOT STAY HERE! PERIOD!!! I would give them 0 stars if I could. What started as a great experience for my daughter's birthday celebration was totally ruined! read more

Basically OK. Rooms were tiny but very clean and comfortable. Shower is probably the worst design I've ever seen in a hotel and we left puddles of water outside of the stall every time we showered. Had to lay towels to soak it up. Bathroom is insanely tiny and can't fit two people at the same time. Pool is tiny and heated. Supposed pool bar is closed half the time and they were out of everything, ugh. Our bartender sucked too, he looked he did NOT want to be there. Nice restaurant and hip new bar downstairs but requires reservations... which is so odd because they were never full, the restaurant was desolate most of the time. Location was the best part, literally a block away from two huge shopping centers, tons of restaurants, stores an bars. Had a great time just walking every where. If I could stay somewhere just based on customer service and staff, I'd stay here without a doubt. Everyone is super nice, friendly, and helpful. Absolutely loved all the staff I had the pleasure of interacting with! With that being said, I definitely had a lot of qualms with the property itself. The walls are thin, you can hear drunk people screaming on the street all the time, always hear cars going on and off, and wind blowing through the hallways. The room and bathroom we had were really small. Two people can barely fit in the bathroom at the same time and the shower is an awful design. Every towel and bed linen we received were stained, even though they did smell clean, it gave me a bit of an ick. We ended up just using the stained linens because we were tired of complaining. Our room also seemed "cleaned" in a rush. There was a leftover pizza stinking up the cabinet with the fridge, water stains all over the vanity, dusty toilet, dusty air vent (which ran 70% of our stay and just kinda stopped the rest of the time), weird sticky spot on the bathroom floor, and spots that were missed while vacuuming. I'm not sure if the reusable bottles are cleaned or not, but they have a weird smell to them, and yes, even the very first time we opened them. There are also no microwaves on the premise so unless you want cold leftovers, finish your food!! I wrote this review in hopes of improving the property and experience because I really do think Romer House has a lot of potential to be amazing, it just needs some help in some departments. read more

This hotel is in a great location, feet away from the International Market. The service is friendly, the entire front desk staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. We enjoyed breakfast on our last day, it was so yummy. Wish we would've had dinner too but had too many plans. Next time. We will be back. Highly recommend Romer House to all. read more

This boutique hotel is a mixed bag. Great location just off Kuhio and at the back entrance to the International Market. Easy walk to all of Waikiki. The small but warm "pool" turned out to be a big plus for us. It was never busy and had plenty of lounges, and a good bar. The staff was very accommodating, and generous with some upgrades. The room was the biggest up and down, mostly down. It did have a nice lanai and bathroom. It is a boutique hotel so you need to expect some quirks. It was originally adults only, but they open to all now. My wife and I took our kids to Hawaii for ten years. We would never consider this kind of hotel. It's is best for couples. In the end we did enjoy our stay and the Romer House grew on us. Never ate at the restaurant, but it was busy. 7/10 is my rating. read more

Overall decent experience with some flaws as noted below: Pros: -Love the adults only concept. Did not need to be surrounded by screaming kids. -Friendly staff -Bed and bedding is so comfy! -Happy Hour inside was great. -Heated pool was actually pretty nice. Never too crowded. Could be a little warmer and maybe some jets would be nice! -Pretty close to main strip but don't expect any ocean views. Cons: -The shower glass door only covers half the shower. Not sure who designed this but they obviously didn't put much thought. Water falls all over floor and pressure is low. -There is an automatic sensor light switch that goes on in the middle of the night. Even when it was covered, the light still went on from shadows from outside. -If you stay on city side, expect lots of noise and sirens! Apparently when you get a Queen Deluxe room, you get city side (not pool which is quieter. -The pool chairs are uncomfortable and upright. When I want to lounge at the pool, I want to lay down. $100 to reserve a cabana was not worth it. -Inside hallways are very small. -Room was only cleaned once over 4 night stay. read more

Book our staycation for a Sunday and Monday night for my wife's birthday in this newly renovated and rebranded hotel in Waikiki, not on the beach. We chose here because we didn't need beachfront and they had a promo. In this simple review, they were clean and a reasonable price. Decent sized rooms with basic amenities. Weird front entrance with no drive up and drop off area. Not sure if we had to park where that would be tho they seemed to have a small parking lot behind the building under the pool. Nice 2nd floor pool and bar area which we did spend some time in. We would come back again as a reasonably priced alternative. read more

Our stay was not the best, we where at the front of the hotel on level 3 it was as very noisy and we where right above where people smoke so being on the balcony wasn't very pleasant. The room was also very small we had a deluxe king and only a small wardrobe for clothes, no room to store suitcases. we had to use the small bench for our clothes. Bathroom is neat but small and nothing drys. On the websites that we looked at it said it was an adults only hotel but when we arrived and seen kids there and asked apparently that changed in August 2025 but websites are not updated. Due to the noise and small rooms I do not believe it is worth the money and would not say there again or recommend it. read more

The room itself is cool. Check in was a breeze. I ordered a vacation package for Hawaii and the last leg of the trip was a few nights in waikiki. Pros- check in was easy and quick. The loud music in the lobby is either a pro or con depending on what you're into I guess. The rooms appear clean and overall hotel has a modern contemporary atheistic. They have a couple of water bottles and a fill station on the first floor Cons- Others have already mentioned the silly shower setup. Expect to use both towels for the floor. I ended up renting another room because my flight was later in the day. Both rooms were out of soap in the shower. Not sure why they gave us 2 queen beds when the reservation was for a king. The patio door doesn't have a screen. It doesn't have that double glass up to keep the noise out so you hear every car that rolls by. Every drunk walking on the street. They do tell you they have a sister location about 6 blocks away where you can use beach chairs and what not. It's actually a business that you would sign up and make an account. We didn't do it. We just wanted some beach towels and were told to ask the front desk. It's about a 20 min walk. The elevators a bit slow. They have 2 elevators and with people coming and going. Sometimes it takes awhile. For the second room I ended up getting for a few hours. The patio is facing the bar at the pool. The windows not even tinted. With the blinds open. People sitting at the bar can look at you on the bed. They charged me 343 bucks for that room All and all the star was decent. It's really maybe a 3 star, 120-160 max a night hotel. The reason why I gave them 1 star is because they tried to sneak a smoking charge on the room without saying anything. Another 5 hundred something dollars. When I checked my account I called to ask what the extra charge was for. They said oh cause you were smoking. Neither my wife or I smoke. They said that maybe a hot shower set off the smoking alarm and that they just tack on the charges unless they get a dispute. Pretty shady and unethical. They also charge about 90 something dollars on top of the room rate for taxes and resort fees. When an establishment tries to rip off guest I wonder what else they do to save money. read more

Just had one of the best dinners I've had on the island in a while! I live here and had been looking for a spot with great vibes, delicious food, and fair pricing--and Romer totally delivered. The restaurant has such a warm, inviting ambiance--I honestly wish I lived there! The menu had exactly the options I was craving, and the service was a solid 10/10. Our waitress was incredibly sweet, and the food came out within minutes. They even greet you with a welcome drink when you sit down, which was such a nice touch. There's also a cool bar right next door that adds to the whole experience. I'd absolutely recommend this place to both locals and visitors read more
