What stood out right away was the service. The moment we stepped in, the floor manager greeted, welcomed and sat us handing us off to our friendly server Sean. The Cowboy Salad was really tasty. Especially the chicken was cooked to perfection and the ingredients were wonderfully fresh, and with the adage of dates, feta and cherry tomatoes they had this dish down. But..... There is a reason why I left still feeling hungry. The portion of that salad was slightly shy of it being truly an Entree Salad. It was larger than a side salad but too small to be considered an Entree Salad. So, keep that in mind if you order a salad as a meal. The Hollywood Burger was decent with hot fresh meaty fries. It's a chain restaurant/ pub similar to Cactus Club, Earls or Joeys, but I like the vibe in here. The servers are always super friendly and attractive, and they are great at what they do. The menu is pretty standard, and they do have Happy Hour (or Browns Social Hour is whats it's called here) The last two times we were here, we split the Blackened Chicken Alfredo with extra Chicken and garlic bread. It was perfectly filling, so we didn't get dessert- but the selection looked good! read more

I stopped by for a birthday celebration and was surprised at their menu offerings. I had been underwhelmed at the food on my previous visits and did not realize they had a brunch menu. I ordered the soup, salad and garlic toast option with a glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. Food took awhile to arrive. I did enjoy the Thai chicken soup and cowboy salad. It was a light lunch meal. The soup was filling with the rice. Plus, I love the coconut aromatic flavour. The salad was a nice mix of greens, feta, tomato, beans, and shredded carrot. The garlic toast was average. Freshly squeezed juice was really good. Service was on the slow side. This location seems fairly new and is conveniently located across from the Real Canadian Superstore. The restaurant was clean and modern-looking, and the service was great. I got the Butcher's Block Burger and it was quite tasty. The accompanying fries were great as well. Mind you, the portions aren't big and the burger wasn't that cheap, but I think it's pretty standard for these sorts of chain restaurants. I would say it's pretty comparable to Cactus Club/Earl's/Joey's in terms of atmosphere, portion size, and price. A buddy and I were there for happy hour. We had a pitcher of beer $18, and two appetizers 6$ and 5$ respectively. After tax it was 32$. I left a 5$/15% tip by credit card. When I looked at my credit card statement, I was charged 42$. They gave themselves a 30% tip instead. I don't mean to nickel and dime but this is ridiculous af. . Oh, thank gosh, there is a Browns in the area! We were so hungry, we wanted to stop by for some happys but we went in an hour too early. We were seated right away as it was a bit slow. Our server was great and brought food over at a reasonable time. Everything was clean and tidy. All of the servers were wearing masks. We ordered some yam fries, dry ribs, and waffles. The waffles were decent, but nothing to wow. It was good with the blueberry sauce but not as chewy as I'd like it to be. Nonetheless, it was enough flavour for my tastebuds at the time of need. I usually order yam fries whenever I go to Browns so I did it again this visit, however, this yam fries batch was slightly undercooked. It was hard to chew and very little salt was sprinkled. For the last 1/4 of 2020, we didn't really dine in much at restaurants. We did, however, get in one last dine-in experience before the end of the year. We came here to Browns during their 'Social Hour.' Fiancé and I shared Spicy Fried Chicken & Pickles and Parmesan Garlic Fries for food, and I ordered the Browns Sangria for my drink. The food was delicious and you can't go wrong with Happy Hour prices. As for the dine-in, the restaurant had plexiglass that divided all the tables and booths, and the servers were wearing masks. This was a new browns that pop up in the schoolhouse area, so I decided to check it out with my friend before a movie. The building had a really nice patio area and had the same browns vibe as the other restaurants do. Their menu was exactly the same as the other chains as well. It was a clean and nice looking restaurant, which is typical of browns. I have always been a fan of their cod and rice bowl, but decided to try the ahi tuna crunch salad this time. The salad was fresh and it was delicious. It had more Asian inspired ingredients, which Complimented the salad well and it tasted great. The only thing I didn't like about the salad was the tuna itself. It was very bland and plain. The customer service was fine as well. No major shoutouts but the waiter was polite and friendly. Overall, I wanted to see if this particular branch was any different and it wasn't. All sandwiches were enjoyed; fancy tomato with bacon, spicy crispy chicken (big piece of chicken!) and French dip. Delicious fries, but be aware of the $2.25 charge for sauce. Their patio space is so nice that you don't even know you're right next to a busy highway. Best location to stop by to make your errands less of a chore. This place was a great surprise as I have not been to a Browns in years and I had previously been very disappointed with their prices and menu. However, after stopping at Cactus Club and seeing their selections and prices ($42 for a bottle of house wine!!!! that was not really very good at all), my bestie and I grabbed our coats and drove 4 min farther to Browns Social House. We were looking for a hostess to see if we were to seat ourselves when this pleasant young man with a huge friendly smile came up and asked if we needed help. (I assumed he was a server.) He said we could sit where we wanted and we chose a nice corner table and sat down. We laughed and told the waitress about our day. (Another whole story). Needless to say, the wine was very good and reasonably priced, the food was tasty and served quickly and the young man who had seated us came over and was actually the manager! Our server had told him of our ridiculous day and he actually came and talked to us and thoroughly added positivity to our evening of a very long and crazy day. Carter is excellent at his job and our server said they all think he's just the best. So I stand corrected on my previous thoughts of Browns. Carter and his staff changed my mind completely and instead of going to Cactus Club I will most definitely stop here instead. And currently, their Happy hour menu has changed and is now half price wine from 3-5 every day! We will try that next time for sure! read more

The batter used is way too sweet, a waffle should be a vessel that sets off the flavor of the toppings, maple syrup, berries ect... in this case waffle sweetness overpowers the other flavors. Disappointing take out. Restaurant was dead on a Friday night but had to wait 20 minutes longer than we were told. Got home- fries ice cold. Tempura cauliflower cold and had no dipping sauce ? Had asked for dragon bowl with prawns but they said they didn't have any? What? So I had to have the tofu and it was flabby and rubbery and gross. Cactus club. has nice fried tofu. And the bowl had no spicy yogurt as it was supposed to. Dragon bowl tasting sad and tired..... won't hit up this location again read more

While we have been to the Columbia Street location but chose Coquitlam location due to the difficulty and cost of parking at their Columbia Street location. Server and food runner kept forgetting to bring drinks and other items asked for. Food is nothing special, the chicken tacos were over loaded with cabbage and salsa and tasted very bland. Honestly, the entire Browns menu and concept could use an overhaul when it comes to variety and diversity. Wine and drinks list are underwhelming too. Browns used to be a favourite but when compared to other restaurants in the same category, it less than satisfactory. I had an issue with my meal and they went over and above to make up for it and ensure a positive experience. We have been fans and customers of Brown's Social House for several years. This visit to Brown's was quite interesting. First of all we had an unfriendly greeting. We stood there waiting for the hostess but we were totally ignored. I had to find someone to seat us. There was no "hi, how are you today" or anything like that. Once seated, we ordered two martinis and we were informed that they had only one martini glass....? so we had one martini and a margarita. What kind of restaurant has only one martini glass? My partner ordered fish and chips which were good. I ordered steak frites. The steak was tough as leather and not edible. I sent the steak back and the manager came over to our table and asked me what was wrong. I then chose to have the French dip in lieu of the steak. The manager suggested that I should keep the fries from the steak frites and have a Caesar salad with the dip. I was ok with that. I did not have utensils so I had to call the manager over so I could get my knife and fork. The manager was very helpful, however, from thereon, the service was non existent. The waitress disappeared and we were totally ignored. We were not asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. After we completed our dinner we waited over 15 minutes for the bill. I actually had to get up and find the manager for our bill. Well, finally the bill came. We were charged for drinks that we didn't have, I was charged for the Caesar salad. I pointed out the discrepancies to the manager. He corrected the bill partially but there was still a drink on that bill which we did not have. Finally, the bill was corrected. We were comped the margarita. Big deal! Upon leaving there was no "goodbye, come again" or what not. We won't go back there again. read more

Amazing service and decent speed. Clean and organized, very helpful staffs, and I love the fact that they have super clean washrooms. 3 women, 3 men, and 1 universal. I thought that was very modern and friendly. Reasonable prices and quite a few options on the menu. A couple for desserts, lots for drinks and food options. Decent drinks and good burgers. I really like their yam fries too. The normal fries are just okay but both the normal fries and yam fries' dip is amazing and pretty unique. Taco is big and lots of veggies in it. The pastas are good but I've had much better. It's a bit too heavy (oily) and quite dry. Wasn't too satisfying but the Cali burger with mushrooms was great, with the touch of the smashed avocado was smart. The traditional pub burger was good too but not as great as the Cali burger in my option. I'd say everything is pretty worth the price and I had a great experience, except the pastas could be eaten at another place. Our waitress is super friendly, very aware and considerate. Parking lot right outside and not too hard to find. Pretty new and close to the Langley's Brown Social House's standard.
