Do not buy anything from this store online. They do not insure their packages. Mine got lost and I was out money and the items. They weren't of any help in recovering my funds or sending a replacement. Their response was "lost packages are out of our hands". Well maybe insure them then? Wouldn't that be the logical thing to do? That way your customers or should I say ex customers would be satisfied? This is probably why I continue to shop with larger stores because I know if something goes wrong they will take care of it. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this boutique. Items were mismarked with lower prices, but rung up at the register at higher prices -- no apology or attempt to honor the marked price. They told me they would re-label the shoe at the time, but the next day, the shoe was still marked at the wrong, lower price. If I hadn't paid attention, I wouldn't have even caught this price change. The next day, I learned about a 25% off promotion and asked if I could return and rebuy the same item under the promotion (which would leave me with store credit since they don't do refunds, which would have been fine by me, and I could have happily shopped there again and probably spent a s**t-load more). They refused, even though it had only been a day. They consider a return + re-purchase to be a price adjustment, and they "don't do that." To make things worse, when I asked to speak with the owner, I was told by Karly, the "person in charge of customer service," who incidentally is the type of person that carries a dog around in a baby bjorn (not that that's here nor there - just shedding some light on the situation) that the owner (who was in the store at the time) was too busy to talk because "she's a mom and she's running a business." That excuse is both unprofessional and dismissive -- if you're running a business, you should make time for customers, especially when there's an issue. The owner did later call me back, but told me if I tried to return the shoe, they would not put it out on the floor for a while. Really??? I asked how long and she replied smugly "that's up to the returns department" - is Karly the "returns department" too? To sum it up, the attitude I experienced was condescending, unhelpful, and completely out of touch. Between the shady pricing, lack of accountability, outdated return policies, and poor customer service, they've lost a customer. It's unfortunate because I'd love to support a small local business. I won't be shopping there again, and I'd recommend others be cautious before buying. read more

Super cute boutique carrying great labels ranging from ALC to Brochu Walker to Ulla Johnson. I made the drive down from Mill Valley to see several dresses in person. Whoever is responsible for their Instagram account does an amazing job!! They have a great selection of dresses, tops, jackets, jeans, belts, and more. I just wish they had a shop in Marin as I'd shop there regularly. read more

Most expensive thrift store you'll ever visit -- except the clothes just happen to be new. A frustrating experience all around since they buy very few in each size, so unlikely to have what you want. Perhaps they could order your size, but what's the point of shopping in person when they consistently don't maintain stock? Worse, the prices are astonishingly high. $695 for a dress, $80 for a basic t-shirt,.... The return policy has a "grasping" nature to it -- two weeks for store credit only. Good luck with that, given poor stocking practice and very high prices. I really question whether most of the 4- and 5-star reviews are real. read more

I was in Romi Boutique and was bombarded with several salespeople several times while I was shopping. I was greeted by several sales people, which I didn't mind at first, but I did not appreciate several different sales people asking me if I needed help while I was in the fitting room and on the sales floor. It felt like the different salespeople were pressuring me. Normally, I only shop at Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom, and although sometimes I'm greeted by more than one salespeople, I'm helped in the fitting room and on the sales floor by only one salesperson, so it doesn't feel like I'm being attacked, and instead, feels like the one salesperson is trying to build a relationship with me. By the time I would have been ready to purchase something, I decided against it because of the multiple tag team of incessant salespeople. My experience was rotten, the store merchandising looked like a Jackson Pollack painting, and not in a good way. It was not only uncomfortable being asked "if I needed something," by multiple sales people, the store was confusing and disorganized. I'll go back to Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom. Last, but not least, I was sweating so hard because Romi Boutique has no air conditioning. The salesperson with the shoulder length earlobes (how else can I explain who the sales person was) told me when I asked for the air conditioning to be turned on told me that the city of Palo Alto controlled the air conditioner. That makes ZERO sense because I had just eaten at Nobu, which had air conditioning. read more

Customer support is totally horrific. Don't expect anything from them, if you need help post sale. I purchased black shorts earlier this month for 150$ (after 25% sale, end of season). After 2 hours of wearing them (the first time!), the strings started to come out. I brought the pants back. It took the shop 1.5 weeks (!) to call me back and tell me that they cannot fix the shorts as they were on sale, and the sale is final. Yep, they were on sale. Might I have a problem? Might I be providing my bank account with too much exercise? Could it be possible that so many sales girls know this li'l girls name in all these boutiques from SF to NYC??? Ahhhhh well, I guess I must plead 'guilty' to all of the above ... Romi is yet another of my local faves. This 2-story gem continues to please me each and every time I stop by. Last time I scored a whole bunch of cashmere sweaters (you never can be too warm braving the cool Chicago and NYC winters) and this time I was on the look out for some fun spring and summer numbers, possibly a stellar vanilla Nanette Lepore flare-leg suit... You know, my usual hobby these days! Upon entering Romi you can peruse the racks and racks of stylish duds outlining the walls and tables of jeans, tops, purses spread throughout the middle of the boutique. And if roaming the store proves to be too tiring, or if you're one of those girls that brings the boy shopping with you (OK, why must you do this? They're perfectly happy at home with the PGA or latest Xbox 360 ... Alright alright, I admit that in the past, I brought the boy shopping a few times -- but hey, he wanted to come - I swear!), they have a few couches situated in the middle to chill ... Some of the designer labels you'll be thrilled to find: Rebecca Beeson, Nanette Lepore, T-bags, Lauren Moffatt, Theory, Bishop of Seventh, C&C, Cossabella, Rich & Skinny (OK, I had to try on these uber cute pants - how could I not with this brand name - winks and smiles), and tons and tons more. If you're just looking for a Tshirt or casual long-sleeve, tromp up the stairs and you have an entire room dedicated to these comfy pieces - I can't think of any boutique that dedicates an entire floor/room to cotton wares - way to keep it real, Romi! And for that exhibitionist in us all, the fancy changing rooms have these large leather-velvet curtains that close while you change - well, it doesn't matter what you do, they never quite close enough... Romi is an awesome store in downtown Palo Alto that offers a good selection of clothing. When I visited, they had lots of sweaters, cute denim, silk camis, and cotton tees. They also had some unique accessories (belts, bags, and jewelry). The salesgirl was super helpful without being pushy and even brought out a Citizens catalog so that my sister could see some new designs for the spring collection. I felt like I was back in socal as I browsed through the store! Great for females in 20s to 30s willing to spend some money. read more

After spending about $1800 dollars (yikes) I wanted to return one sweater and they would not give me a refund. I live in a different state so shopping at Romi is not easy. I used to love coming to this boutique and I told all my friends to check it out but never ever again. It was only 24 hours! The owner wouldn't budge. Be flexible! Maybe shopping in person is a different experience, hopefully a better one, but if you even think of ordering online and returning any item, be aware that they "ship free" to you initially, but should you decide to return said item they will reneg on that "free shipment" and take the cost of shipping that item out to you in the first place from your refund, ridiculous. That's *in addition* to the fee they take out for using their prepaid return label.... so all told, I ordered a jacket, returned it, and they took out $24 from my refund. It was "free" to ship it to me, but oh man, if you return it you'll eat that cost. That's called screwing over your customer base. I have never seen a policy like that in all the decades I have been purchasing clothing online. If a company ships free to you, they ship free to you, but if you return something then I get and happily oblige the return shipping cost. But $24 return fee? Not a great impression to make with new, and last time customers. read more

Not sure about previous reviews, but this is the first and last time I'd get anything from this store Ordered a few pieces of jewelry worth over $600, and it was not initially delivered to my residence, and upon calling the boutique they Refused to take any responsibility and instead give me the runaround and asked me to contact the carrier figure this out. After much back-and-forth with the carrier and the management company where I was staying, we managed to find the package with no help or responsibility from the boutique owners. The package was partially torn and I drove in person to the Boutique to return the items because I was so put off by this experience. The owner, Romi, was present there and extremely unfriendly and rude and quite shocked that I wanted to return all of the items. She took all the items from me and my receipt and look at me and said you will get your refund in an hour or two and you will get an email about the same. I was so confused because normally you are supposed to be given a receipt with a refund on it as proof when you return items, and when I insisted on this we finally figured out how to give that to me. When I left The store, she was extremely unprofessional and did not smile or wish me a good day, although her colleagues did so It seemed to me a case of discrimination as much as anything else because 05 minutes earlier she was chatting up a white customer extremely politely with huge smiles all around and, of course none of them were wearing masks Not 10 minutes after I left the store, I got a call from this very rude boutique owner again citing that she would process my refund minus a return shipping fee. I went into the store to return the items in person, how can there be a return shipping fee? Thank God I insisted on proof of return because she also give me a slip confirming my amount of refund so I can dispute what she very pettily tried to keep. When I mentioned that I had a really sour experience and I did not want to talk about this anymore, she said she had a very sour experience as well and would not like a client like me, is so so unprofessional and rude to speak with anybody like that when you are clearly at fault Hopefully I will get my refund on my credit card otherwise this Boutique has a fraud charge coming toward them read more

This is an amazing piece of heaven!!! Love the cuteness of the space, their clothings are carefully curated and have fantastic pieces of accessories. Romi and Kim are the best! They helped me pick out pieces that I loved and show me how to style them. I am usually very conservative, a jeans and tee shirts type of girl l, but I got a few beautiful pieces of dresses and tops that I would normal skip. These pieces are soft, pretty and so flattering! I love shopping at Romi!!! If you need some retail therapy or a quick change of look. Go there. I have walk in with my lululemon and walked out in a summer dress and ready for an afternoon date! I went back a week later to get my basics. They have some beautiful summer items now and there's a nice selection of sales items in the back room. Trust me. They carried some brands that I like (James Perse, Citizens, etc.) as well as brands that were new to me (which I like, too, because that means it's more likely nobody else will be wearing the same stuff as me). Came here because I had a Groupon. I decided to buy two brands I've never bought before (Saint Grace and Rag Market) because both of the tops were made of great material and were SOOOO soft. I didn't like their policy on Groupon purchases, though. Just because I used a Groupon I can't exchange or return?? I also didn't like the fact that it was hot in the store. It's summer.. turn on the AC. The heat made me not want to try anything on, but I had to because I was determined to use my Groupon. This little boutique is really cute! I was searching everywhere for a pair or khaki's or dress pants for an interview and could not find anything that I liked. I walked into Romi and within a few minutes found the perfect pair of pants...yes, they were $175, but at least I got the job! They have a lot of cute pants, shirts, sweaters and dresses. Unlike the other boutiques in Downtown Palo Alto, they will not harass you the minute you walk in the door! The people that work at Romi are really nice without being overly friendly (aka fake). The person Romi is also fabulous and graciously hosted one of my Ladies Who Launch meetings at her Palo Alto location recently. Mom and I came in here to find some new jeans when I was having a crappy day. And retail therapy goes a long way! While the only thing they had close to fitting me were citizens their huge selection of t-shirts made up for their small jean selection. While this store undoubtedly carries luxurious, hard-to-find brands such as Inhabit, the customer service could benefit from a facelift. On Saturday, I had purchased several items which had been discounted due to a holiday sale. The sales assistant did not verbally notify me that these sale items were only refundable for store credit. On Sunday, I returned to the store, expressed that I wished to continue shopping there as the regular customer which I am, but wished to return several items after having tried them on at home. In an extremely patronizing manner, the sales assistant informed me that if I were a true regular customer, I would know about the store's for-store-credit-only policy. If you would like to be treated in a condescending, accusatory manner, I sincerely urge you to visit this boutique. Five stars for deterring a regular customer from frequenting the business ever again! read more

There are a couple nice employees and the owner seems kind, however, one woman is really not so nice. I felt like a burden even though I was just spending nearly $400 in merchandise there. At one point I was lightly insulted. For me the perfect shopping boutique experience included help that is kind , welcomes you, lets you know that they are there if any help is wanted, and lets you more or less do your own thing, especially when there is no one else in the shop. I hate feeling pressured. Back to my experience the woman that was so ungracious really ruined my shopping experience there. I have popped by twice only to past up on shopping at the store because she is there. Its a shame the boutique has potential. Once again I will say I felt comfortable with the owner when I met her and other staff members. read more
