I want to like this place (appears clean, service is good) but holy smokes they skimp on the meat! I've been there several times, hot subs, cold subs, wraps, even tried extra meat, everything I tried was skimpy. Ordered a large sausage pizza ($18.50 is not bad) but it just wasn't anything to write home about. The sausage was delicious but that's about it. The sauce was a bit tangy and the pizza felt a tad bit overcooked. If you're drunk coming from the club or bar this will do the job. I've been in Albany my whole life and if anyone knows the pjs pizza on Ontario they would know that this place was supposed to be a replica, maybe years ago but my food today isn't even edible, I ordered the pizza combo wings, pizza and a drink, the pizza shouldn't have the cheese coming off of it while I can literally pull the cheese off each slice, its very overcooked on the dough and the you would think its a oil rig with how much oil is on this damn pizza, the wings are just brutal overcooked and taste like they haven't changed the oil in weeks, I will never order from this restaurant again even if it's the last place on the strip, I never write reviews but I couldn't let this go unnoticed, please advise you do not get food from here, you'll have better luck at lil ceasers read more

This is my first experience with Cugino's trying to support local businesses by getting a order to go. It was a busy Friday night with lines out the door but only 5 min behind schedule. We ordered Ahead due to CV-19 situation. The small antipasto was huge and quite vinegary-marinated veggies- the meat was rolled in pinwheels which I love and served with a basic Italian. We ordered crispy medium wings which had a nice flavor and were crispy but it was closer to a mild- for the wing aficionados the blue cheese was good but was only served with celery. The pizza- whit garlic broccoli with ricotta was lovely-the crust was thin crispy and buttery I usually discard my crust but really enjoyed this one! I will be a return customer for sure! If you want room temperature pizza, that's greasy and soggy, definitely grab a slice here. Enjoy your food haphazardly slapped into a bag (not a small cardboard box like every other sane place) as it comes straight out of their warm box without ever hitting the oven again, which is insane by any pizza places standards ever. Garbage food that was surprisingly more expensive than most places for 2 slices and a can of Coke. Next time I'll walk 8 more feet to the next place. Just awful. read more

So if you are an Albany PJ's Pizza fan, which was sold a few years back, rumor has it that Cugino's is a PJ's spin off or clone or something. I had to try it, having grown up a staunch PJ's fan. Spot on pizza with a good base, tasty toppings and chicken wings by the dozen, no really, one of the few places left that does a dozen wings. The wings were fried well and a nice and spicy hot wing sauce. Definitely worth checking out for pick-up or delivery. I went here for the first time and gotna chicken parm sub. The taste was great but it was very small. I posted about it being so small after seeing my review the owner thought maybe they mistakingly gave me a small sub. Justbwent back today for the chicken parm. It must have been an honest mistake and i am sure glad i gave them a second chance. This is how you run business folks. Best pizza in The tri-city area. I've NEVER had a bad pizza or meal from here. They are quick and efficient. The staff is always friendly and personable. No matter what time of day the food is impeccable. I don't by pizza anywhere else. This is a hidden Jen in the city of Rensselaer. The owners are always cooking your pizza. I recently ordered from Cugino's. I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza and fried pickles for delivery. The food was delicious. The pizza was very good. The pizza had excellent flavor and had plenty of toppings. The crust was semi thick and was crunchy. The fried pickles were great. They were heavily breaded and crispy. The pickles were fresh and the flavor was excellent. The problem was I was told it would take less than an hour for the food, but I waited almost an hour and a half. I moved to the area last year, and Cuginos was recommend to me. Had their pizza a few times it was unique. Their sauce and slice style is different from other local establishments. About a month ago I ordered pizza and the first thing I've noticed was that it had a chemical, fishy, or musty odor to it, and taste as well, couldn't quite pinpoint what it was. Had a few slices and threw it in the trash. Didn't bother calling to complain. Preparing and selling the pizza within itself should of been a red flag not to hand it out to a customer. The odor was pungent! I don't know if they're using a pizza stone, or haven't cleaned their dough processes, or even if their fridge is moldy. Haven't been back since, even when there is a special on retail-me-not for $10 for $25 worth of food, not worth it. First time you make a mistake on a product you sell to a customer to consume, and it has a noticeable odor, is the last time I'll go back. read more
