While visiting Williams, AZ, we stopped at Ronaldo's for a late night snack. It was jam packed our the door. Despite the heavy traffic, we were tended to quickly and with great customer service. I ordered a large horchata because it's homemade, and those never disappoint, and this one surely didn't. For my entree I ordered the Camarones Rancheros, and I have to say they were quite tasty. The ranchero sauce had a pico de Gallo taste, flavorful and zesty. The rice was good too. My mom ordered Tacos de Tripas (tripe tacos) and she was thoroughly satisfied. She likes to make sure they serve them nice and fried (crunchy) and she got just that. She only wished that the salsa was spicier. My sister ordered Beef Taquitos and she liked them. Its a drive-in/ in so I wasn't expecting fine dining. Walked in said hello to the 2 young staff who looked like they didn't want to be there. My sister ordered while I used the restroom which I wish I wouldn't have. I immediately lost my appetite. The sink was not just dirty but caked with filth, the walls were as filthy as the sink, the toilet seat was caked with feces old and new. When I came out my sister was already eating so I didn't say anything. The food looked microwave and she said it was tasteless. Just had my first shredded chicken taco from here and I'm pretty sure it's the very best I've had in all my 60 years! (I actually think eating out is a waste of money unless it's Mexican food, so there's that. Lol) We usually get their bean and rice burritos, which we got 4 of those as well for multiple meals. I always have to explain why I gave someone 3 stars versus 4. The answer is this: It has nothing to do with the food quality or facility itself. All were wonderful! Anytime I have counter-service, fair or not, if I'm getting my own food I never go above a 3 star because I am not rating a service aspect. Just my own take. Food here was delicious! I had a green chili burro and it was just perfect. I even enjoyed the salsa so much that I brought some home for Twyla the salsa queen. She said that it was awesome! The seating is a little tight with the COVID aspect. However, there are plenty of area along Route 66 to sit and eat (Benches, Outdoor Seating, etc). The menu has a good mix of fare and they crank it out so waiting was not an issue. Winter is a good time to visit this region as you have the place to yourself. However, summertime here is an all out party! Prices are geared towards family spending and feeding the masses. It doesn't break the bank. This Gordo knows a good burrito. The food is not bad. We had a mixture of tacos, enchiladas, chips and salsa (the salsa is excellent). The beans and rice were spot on delicious. My only real complaint was the young man who ran the register and took our order. Not only was he rude but he is a thief. I really wasn't going to write a review but I wanted to let anyone know who goes there to make sure you don't leave anything blank on their Square checkout or the young man who works there will alter your receipt and pad the transaction. I am first going to say that I will give an HONEST review of this place. My biggest pet peeve of Yelp is "Good food, fair prices, but there was no parking out front so they get 1 star." Food: Kids got bean and cheese burritos, like they always do. The beans were very good, not burnt or flavorless. The carne asada burrito was a little bland on the flavor, but add some salsa and you're good to go. The Extreme Fajita burrito was really good, lots of flavor, it might have been the peppers and whatever else they put in it. Green salsa was good, red salsa has some kick to it. I was a little sad they didn't have any chunky salsa. The horchata was also really good, not too sweet or bland. Atmosphere: All of the tables inside are still marked off due to COVID, so either get it to go or sit outside if it is warm enough. Looks fairly clean, although I noticed the cashier and the cook were NOT wearing masks. Not sure if that is a requirement or not...? But... to tell you the truth, I'm over this whole COVID thing anyway... Price: Probably the biggest downside was the price. 5.99 for a bean and cheese burrito seems a bit much. I mean, it was good but it was small and beans are like the cheapest thing. The other two burritos were decent size for the price, but 38$ for 4 burritos and a horchata was a little on the pricy side. But... if the food is good, it's worth it! Service: The service was fine, no complaints. The lady at the counter wasn't super outgoing or anything, but she wasn't rude either. I don't know who this "kid" is that works here that is super rude, I was hoping I could get a chance to see for myself... but... oh well. Next time... Overall: The food was overall really good. Prices seemed a little high, carne asada a little bland, but other than that the place was great. We are from Socal and were visiting Williams as a recommendation from our Air B&B host. To be truthful i DID NOT want Mexican food because i was biased that we eat enough of it in LA where we are from. After much complaining i gave in and we decided on Ronaldo's. I am so glad we did. The people were very nice and the food was absolutely delish! I was very surprised. The portions are large for the price and we liked it so much we ordered more to go for dinner! Small but clean establishment. Staff was friendly. i had the chilaquiles with red sauce to which the worker at the counter told me was špicy, i said ok. Well, if you don't like spicy, don't get the red sauce chilaquiles...good but very spicy. My husband had the Big Breakfast Burrito and said it was good but only ate half as it's big. Decided to try this place because we were hungry and it said breakfast all day. I feel like its hard to mess up breakfast but this place deff did. The food was not good. I had the breakfast burrito with bacon and my friend had the Huevos Ranchero. The eggs were wayyyyyyyyy over cooked and they added everything separate leaving the burrito dry and tough to chew. We did the drive through, which was convenient, but it took 15 to 20 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. Is Ronaldo's run by cheats? I think so! Friday night, I ordered fish tacos, paid for extra guacamole. When I got to my hotel room, I saw they had not given it to me, so I IMMEDIATELY called. I explained I had an injured leg and hip and thus could not go out again that night. Juan said, come by and we will give it to you. The next evening, I didn't go because the line was at least 5 cars long. So this morning -- less than 36 hours after they messed up my order--I went back (I was going to order a breakfast burrito and said they could put the extra guacamole on it) and Juan tells me it's "too late." What??? YOU GUYS didn't give me what I paid for, I gave you the chance to make it right, and then you tell me it's too late?! So I'm thinking this ripping off of customers was no accident but rather a practice-- and they got caught. There are OTHER good Mexican restaurants in Williams. Couldn't expect much - Car Show Weekend, most of their guests are going to be one-timers or try something else next visit. Food is okay, mediocre, guac on plate looked like it came from a squeeze container, yuk. For an order-at-counter-wait-for-your-number-to-be-called place, they obviously don't want to hire a dishwasher, by using styro plates, plastic utensils, paper cups. But for 2 entrees, an iced tea and soda, it came to $35, plus I gave $7 tip. Food ready, they called our number (we were the ONLY customer in the place) the not-busy guy at the register didn't seem to want to bother bringing our tray out, so I went up to the counter to gather the tray of food. If I had known, I wouldn't have left a $7 tip! It looked like the owners and most of their family/staff were sitting at one of the dining/tables "taking a break" it was about 4pm. No a/c and 90 degrees outside, only fans running. Its rather a hit-and-run, or drive-thru kind of place.
