Voted as one of the Top 100 Taco Spots in 2025 on Yelp, we just had to try this place out while we were in town. This place is a total vibe once you walk in. Great decor and nice ambiance. Large TVs screens to watch the game. It's a great little hang out spot. We were greeted and seated promptly. Chips and salsa aren't complimentary. My youngest opted for the supreme nachos. My oldest and I decided on the taco combo plate. The menu makes it seem like you're limited to certain types of tacos, but our server informed us that's not the case. I went with the Al pastor which was incredible and the carne asada, which was also good. Rice and beans were on point and I loved the salsa they brought out with the food--a verde an a roja, both were excellent. Everything was so good! The reviews for this place are honestly pretty misleading. Right off the bat, they were spraying the tables down with bleach, so be careful sitting down if you don't want it getting on your clothes. Our server basically tossed the menus on the table and walked off, and it took about 20 minutes just to get water. The staff seemed overwhelmed and not particularly friendly--people were literally raising their hands just to get someone's attention. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the food, which was just okay, nothing special. Overall, definitely not worth the hype. This place just isn't it. read more

Hey folks, this is a must stop in Williams! The tacos here are as good as any I've had in the US. Skip the other tourist traps and head right down to Nanys Tacos. I tried the Lengua, Shrimp, and Fish tacos and they were all delicious. The lengua was tender and flavorful. Perfectly seasoned! The fish and the shrimp both tasted fresh and the seafood was cooked to perfection, not rubbery or overdone and the toppings accentuate and does not overpower the flavors. We were the only table seated when we got here, but pretty soon more groups of people came down to eat. There was only one server, so he was getting overwhelmed a little bit. But other than it, it was a great experience. There was plenty of street parking around if you were driving here. read more

A must stop in Williams! We started with the chips and guacamole. My husband had three tacos rice & beans. El Pastor, Fish & Shrimp...outstanding! I had a Birria taco with consume dipping sauce. Tonight for dinner we went to Nany's Taco and had a wonderful meal. We ordered the following: Carne Asada nacho supreme, combo steak fajita and carne asada burritos. They were a lot of dishes and we finished the whole dishes without any leftover. Recommend highly of this place. We bring our friends and relatives to Williams or Flagstaff Az on the way to see Grand Canyon National Park. Now we have a stopping point in Williams for a meal. We met the owner Nany and asked her, how she acquired the name. Very nice lady to chat. Make sure you say hello to her when you stop by. Thanks to our server Paolo very accommodating. read more

Solid option for Mexican food. Portions are good size for the cost. The meat is all well-seasoned, the red and green salsa options are both flavorful. Service is very quick. The only negative for me is that they don't give complimentary chips and salsa for the table, like some restaurants do. Still definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Wow! Great tacos! We stopped in for dinner and the place was packed. Neat Mexican vibe inside. Dining room is quite small, however the tables were turning pretty quickly and we were seated in no time. Our server was very helpful and answered all of our questions. Our orders came out quickly. I had the chips and salsa with the Nanny's salsa which I was very good. I had the Quesabirria and El Pastor tacos and they were both amazing. We walked in already a bit disappointed. Right off the bat, they don't allow you to do red and green sauce on enchiladas--you have to pick one. Same with the meat: no mixing, it all has to be the same. Their beer selection is "unlimited" only if you count about five different bottled beers. The vibe inside wasn't the warmest either. They do have pozole, but fair warning--they drop a whole pig ear in it. That was a hard pass for me. The server recommended the Governor taco (shrimp), but it came drowned in a creamy sauce that made it super heavy. Definitely not for me. We also tried the mini jalapeño chimichangas, which I won't order again--they had no meat, kind of a weird seafood taste, and just didn't work. Chips and salsa? So we came to this place after the train to the Grand Canyon because when you look up places to eat nothing else has a 4 star or above on yelp. The reviews are misleading!!! This place reminds me exactly of the Gordon Ramsey's shows you see of a kitchen disaster. It was crowded when we got there, we were told 15 minute wait, took 40 minutes to be seated, not a big deal, we wanted to eat good food. As soon as you are inside you can see why there's such a long wait. There is absolutely no process or system, complete amateur hour. Took 10 minutes just to be asked what we wanted to drink and we had actually looked at the menu beforehand so we ordered everything right there and then. Took another 15 minutes to get drinks, we ordered chips and salsa, that took another additional 15 minutes after our drinks to get chips and a nasty 'nana's' salsa. At one point all tables had guest seated and not one was eating. 3 different parties got up and left. They all asked the waitress to check if their orders were started and the cook would just shrug off the waitress and say no. I asked the waitress if it was always like this and she said yes. Waitress was nice but she was helpless in getting food to tables. I asked her if it was a family owned and ran restaurant and she pointed to the old lady in the back not doing much as the owner and the cook was the owners granddaughter. No system at all! Bunch of people standing around not doing anything. The 3 waiters were just taking the complaints and hits for the people cooking. We asked if our food was being prepared as we have 2 young children and were hungry. Waitress said she would get the kids food out asap so they can eat. We grabbed some food for our car ride back to Phoenix after seeing great reviews. Very small place and it was crowded, great sign. Also, food came pretty quickly. First up, bean/cheese/rice burrito. The beans were so plain and almost had a burnt flavor and the rice was crunchy. It was so bad. The veggie burrito for one kiddo she said she liked but it was dripping with grease. Not sure where or what the grease was from since there was noeat on it but so soggy and greasy. My husband had the brisket burrito and said it wasn't great. We have experienced not great food while being up north and with the wonderful reviews, packed restaurant, family owned, how bad could it be? If you can't cook rice I'm guessing it can be pretty bad. read more

Let me start off by saying the food wasn't bad at ALL it genuinely was pretty good the only thing was the server we had was the only one on the entire upper level (we later found out this was the first night they had this section open) but seriously he needed more help. There were two runners that brought food to a table once but he had 3 parties of at-least 8 people and some were more minus my group. The vibes are Nice and they have a nice bar downstairs. It smells so good in here. Wonderful find She has been here in this location for about a year but been business for over 3 years. So being someone who has traveled all over. This place was a gem! The food here was a good size portion and amazing flavors. The staff was all ladies. They are working hard in there for us. Nany, girl you have a great thing going. I can't wait to come back to read that book. So at all the tables she has her story and you can read this while waiting for your food. Brilliant idea and the book is also available for purchase! So glad I stopped into this small, authentic taco shop! I got the El Pastor and Quesabirria tacos al a cart. They were the best tacos I think I've ever had from a restaurant. The person working our train cart raved about this place for 5 minutes today and we decided to try it-- it was very underwhelming. We tried the regular salsa, nanny's salsa, birria tacos, and a few other things. The chicken tacos were horrible- the chicken looked like it was boiled with no flavor at all and the chicken was cold. DO NOT MISS THIS! We first came to Williams 4 years ago, in search of a great Zuni/Hopi/Navajo jewelry store and a great lunch. We drove about an hour from Sedona (where we were vacationing), to Williams, and after shopping, we wound up at Nany's. Right in the door, we were greeted by two staffers, one of them Nany's delightful granddaughter, who promptly told us that we had come to the right place and that her Nany's recipes were terrific - and she wasn't exaggerating in the slightest. Every bite was amazing: home-cooked flavors like you've probably not had before, starting with the salsa and chips. She introduced us to her Nany, and we knew that the next time we visited Sedona, we were coming back to Williams. Fast-forward four years, we are back in Sedona and made the 1-hour drive to Williams to introduce a Mexican friend of ours to Nany's (when your Mexican friend, who is a very good cook in his own right, is impressed, you know you've nailed it). Many of the offerings are the tacos and burrito types you know, but with the flavors amped up to amazing. Chips and salsa are not complimentary, but you must definitely get them, because Nany's fresh handmade salsa is unlike anything else you've had, and worth the price all by itself. Absolutely superior. Tacos are the headliners, of course, and these _estrellas_ do not disappoint. The Governor's flavors are robust and pack a punch, absolutely the best version of this taco I've had anywhere, including Mexico. The Suadero taco is very flavorful and generous with the cilantro, onions and two slices of lime alongside. The al Pastor is also a magnificent rendition of this taco. But the real scene-stealer is the Quesabirria taco, a flavor explosion that will have your eyes rolling into your head with satisfaction. The delicious tortilla is skillet-fried with cheese to make a crispy, mouthwatering "overcoat" for the slow-cooked birria brisket that overflows from this baby...it doesn't come with consomé, but honestly, it stands so well on its own that it isn't missed. Even the humble bean and cheese burrito here is delicious, and the burrito al Pastor is spectacular. Don't miss this place - skip all the Rt. 66 touristy places and jump one block over to E. Bill Williams Ave/Railroad Ave to discover Nany's great food for yourself. You won't be disappointed! After reading the good Yelp reviews, we decided to stop by and give Nanny's Tacos a chance while visiting Williams before our very long road trip home on a Friday afternoon. When we arrived, inside just a few people were seated at the tables. Our party of four was seated right away, and we placed our orders shortly after. We received our drinks promptly and then settled in to wait. We decided to start with an appetizer of chips and guacamole. We were hoping for free chips and salsa perhaps, like most Mexican restaurants serve, but not so lucky here. After waiting nearly 30 minutes with no sign of the appetizer, the rest of our group asked me to check in with the staff especially since most places serve chips and guac well before the main course. The staff politely acknowledged the request, but then disappeared back and forth into the kitchen with no update. Eventually, they emerged... but instead of the appetizer, they brought out our main dishes with the chips and guacamole. Well... three out of the four meals, anyway. My girlfriend's son's order was completely forgotten. As the rest of us began eating (since our food was already getting cold), we waited... and waited. By the time we reminded the staff and his meal finally came out, the rest of us were nearly finished. That really put a damper on the experience. As for the food it was decent and not anything above average. We ordered the Carne Asada tacos, Al Pastor tacos, and the Carne Asada quesadilla plates. The quesadilla was definitely decent. Cheesy, flavorful, and nicely grilled. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed it. The tacos were solid, but not particularly memorable. The chips and guacamole were gone in a flash once they finally arrived with the rest of our meal, but the portion was surprisingly small and very expensive for the amount you get, maybe three heaping tablespoons of guac at most. The chips were fresh and had a nice crunch and flavor. Unfortunately, the real issue here was the service. Forgetting a child's meal entirely, with no communication until we spoke up, is hard to overlook. It turned what could have been a pleasant lunch into a frustrating experience. It looked to us as if the waiter had to hunt down the cook perhaps on his break so that he can finally finish the fourth and final meal for our party. Our waiter also did not come back to our table to check on us or ask to see if we needed anything else. We also had to get up from our table to ask for our check. Would we come back? Sorry, Not again. The food was decent, and that quesadilla was tasty. Don't ever go to nanys! I looked in the kitchen and the cooks had their hair down. When we ordered our chips and salsa, it was brown and chunky! And it did not taste very good. We ordered an extra taco and they did not give it to us. And our waitress just left in the middle of it! They said on the menu they had chicken tenders but they didn't! We ordered nacho cheese and we had to ask again for it. And it took ten minutes for it to come! Thats why you don't go to Nanys! read more

Some of the most pleasant people own Nany's! The service was wonderful and they explained the dishes so well and will gladly tell you what most people get and enjoy. People around town will tell you that their beef items on the menu are a little better than their chicken items. When the waitress came to seat us after that long, she only had spots ready for half our party so the other half of us stood and waited for twenty additional minutes for them to clear an empty table. Once seated and ordered (we ordered immediately since we'd had so much time to look at the menus while waiting) we waited about 30 minutes for our chips and queso. The queso was cold and soupy.
