I have no idea, but the food here is amazing…read more The whole chicken dinner features a whole chicken that has been cut up, rice, beans, grilled jalapeno, and grilled onion, supported by flour tortillas and crispy corn tortillas, and salsa. The dinner easily feeds 3 with leftovers for 1 lunch. The whole flame grilled chicken is amazing, juicy inside with some very tastey blackened spots that are just perfect. It is hard to get those blackened spots without overdoing it, but this truck has the flame grill dialed in to perfection and gets the essential blackening done perfectly. The refried beans are amazing too, and the red rice is nice and fluffy. The salsa has a bit of nice heat, with a very fresh cilantro element. Today, I pulled some chicken, put it on a tortilla, added some beans and rice, then topped it all with a slice of the grilled onion and salsa. The result was a fat street taco that easily competes with the best in the west street tacos, and in a contest, would likely win hands down! This was my first visit to the truck, but I'd had the food before when brought home by a family member. Now I know just where to go for great food, and look forward to going back for the asada.

There was no shortage of cheese. I also ordered the brisket mac and cheese to take home for later that evening, and it was just as amazing. It was rich, creamy, and loaded with delicious brisket. Every bite was worth the drive. I highly recommend Jonah Bee's Barbecue Truck if you're looking for outstanding barbecue and great customer service. The brisket had a beautiful bark and was cooked perfectly, and the rib tips were just as good. I was honestly just as impressed with the sides. My favorites were the spicy mac and cheese and the potato salad. The potato salad was creamy and was the perfect thing to cool your mouth after eating the steamed jalapeños. The coleslaw and green beans were also really refreshing and balanced out all the rich barbecue. The biggest surprise for me was the sweet yams. It was so flavorful that it tasted like it had been slow-cooked in brown sugar and spices for hours. For dessert, I tried both the banana pudding and the peach cobbler. The banana pudding was the winner for me, but I also liked that the peach cobbler wasn't overly sweet. Even the cornbread was delicious. I ended up pairing it with the barbecue baked beans and was a great combo. Our total came to about $110 before tax and tip, but we ordered enough food to try a wide variety of meats, sides, and desserts, so I thought it was well worth it.
