Oh, and there were a few funnel cake trucks, so I don't remember which one I got funnel cake from, but it was absolutely delicious. Only miss of the night was Raf's Shawarma -- waited almost an hour, and the meat was dry, overcooked and disappointing. The baklava was a soggy mess. And, that sponge cake thing tasted like it was growing mold. They even forgot parts of our order. The garlic sauce and salad thing was good, but never again. We learned our lesson. The wait was so long it just ruined the whole night. So, I'm gonna say skip that one and go to El Basha instead, cuz I still love Mediterranean food. I have no idea, but the food here is amazing…read more The whole chicken dinner features a whole chicken that has been cut up, rice, beans, grilled jalapeno, and grilled onion, supported by flour tortillas and crispy corn tortillas, and salsa. The dinner easily feeds 3 with leftovers for 1 lunch. The whole flame grilled chicken is amazing, juicy inside with some very tastey blackened spots that are just perfect. It is hard to get those blackened spots without overdoing it, but this truck has the flame grill dialed in to perfection and gets the essential blackening done perfectly. The refried beans are amazing too, and the red rice is nice and fluffy. The salsa has a bit of nice heat, with a very fresh cilantro element. Today, I pulled some chicken, put it on a tortilla, added some beans and rice, then topped it all with a slice of the grilled onion and salsa. The result was a fat street taco that easily competes with the best in the west street tacos, and in a contest, would likely win hands down! This was my first visit to the truck, but I'd had the food before when brought home by a family member. Now I know just where to go for great food, and look forward to going back for the asada.

There was an ample offering of meats. I went with the Brisket (yum!). Each plate came with potato salad and baked beans. The "Pitmaster", Damien, was welcoming & got started on my order right away! The potato salad was delicious and the beans had an extra layer of flavor - not your basic baked beans! Thanks to the "Pitmaster", I was able to sample the ribs! Let me tell you, they were TENDER & seasoned so well, they didn't need any sauce! Overall, I was super pleased with the food & service! I look forward to trying other items & definitely sampling dessert!! What if I sent one less minute contemplating the vegan truck? Luckily the regular ribs remained, and were amazing. I'm not school in regional barbecue terminology, but this seemed like more of the direct fire kind of ribs than low-and-slow. The sauce was excellent and the salad-type side dish was better than it needed to be.
