Came here to fix my 2017 chevy tahoe radio/stereo. No bueno. They replaced the stereo and my steering wheel controls now were not working. Had to bring it back and they couldn't figure out the problem so they took tahoe to the dealer. Dealer got the steering wheel controls back working but now 3 usb charging ports weren't working. After a $900 deposit, owner and I split the loss. Smh. I thought i was taking my tahoe to get fixed by professionals, but I was wrong. Went in to see if I could get the amperage draw of my car because my multimeter has a 10A limit. What could've been a simple 2 second "no sorry" was instead one of the employees arguing with me about how "a multimeter doesn't read amps, it can only read voltage." The event was so frustratingly stupid that I just had to message my friend as soon as it happened. The following is the conversation: Me: "Hi, I was just wondering if I could get a reading on the amperage my car pulls when it's running." Employee: "why?" Me: "I'm trying to put a system in my car, but I need to know how many amps my car pulls while it's running. My multimeter doesn't read past 10 amps." Employee: "well first of all, a multimeter doesn't read amps because it's a clamp meter that reads amps." Me: "I mean, a multimeter does read amps.. it's just that mine has a 10 amp limit and obviously a car is going to have a lot more than 10, so I just wanted t-" Employee: "multimeters never read amps. And even if they could, it would just be AC. Cars run on DC, not AC. So even if a multimeter could, it wouldn't be able to read DC because that's just the way it is." Aside from the whole interaction being extremely unprofessional, for someone that works at shop where they INSTALL STEREOS, how do they not know the basic functions of a multimeter?? Based on his little "theory" im surprised this man even knew an amp was. Absolute garbage. They charged $2000 for a simple stereo in a '66 mustang. An uncut, numbers matching mustang. When the car came back, the left side didn't work. They installed a DSP, two amplifiers, and 4 speakers, and sub. The front speakers were cut into the kick panels with the magnets of the speakers exposed to the elements. The rear speakers installed in the rear deck, had 4 screws each, that didn't touch any sheet metal. The front speakers were not mounted on a flat surface and the speaker chassis were bent. Under the back seat, butt connected wires and a rats nest. I was in this industry for a very long time and have never seen work this poor of quality. Tried multiple times to get in touch with the owners but they don't seem to give a fuck. If you need car audio work, go anywhere but this shithole. read more

This is a hard one, being at least for me both father and son are what I co sidereal friends. Mom, to was o ce nice but when my $$$ dried up so did her pleasantries. So, here we go, they are AWESOME during the initial phase of getting work down, then kind of Peter out and show less desire to get it right. Specific issues, WIRING on ALL INSTALLS are SUBUSTANDARD. DEFINITELYNOT WHAT WOULD BE CALLED A CLEAN INSTALL.. I took it back numerous times, which cost me MY TIME to no avail, when it came to cleaning up their wiring. A HIGHEND Overland installer literally cally the work a "RATs NEST," and yes they fixed it on the first try, BUT at a $125.00 an hour rate. Yeah, I know, BUT this store came RECOMMENDED by Baja Designs after, looking at Ronnie's mess left behind. That cost me almost $500 in labor alone. I HAVE RECIEPTS from Bent Motorsports in San Marcos. It also cost me $78 in UBER costs from San Marcos to the border, and an additional $25 on the Mexican side to my home. They Bents also installed my ELECTRONIC BOX, RENOLOGY 2000 WATT Converter, REDARC, fuses, Elect bloc DeepSea, switches and 2 Battel Born lithium batteries. With the cleanup and installation it cost over $2000. Ok, my Smitty Built, Box for the rood. Well Ronnie's installed it but was missing the center ĺpiece. Explanation, I could buy it as a single piece, or in THREE attachable pieces. We decided to order it in the THREE piece to avoid it being to big or small. Well it was WAY to small, this is a 1500 Ram Quadcab and what he installed would have worked great on a JEEP Rubicon. He stated that it came with only TWO pieces and offered NO SOLUTION for the small size on my truck. Now SmittyBuilt maintains it shipped out correctly with THREE pieces that would have been the same size as the one piece. Ronnie denies this SmittyBuilt stands by that it is a automatic process and that my installer is LYING. So, I'm a idiot, I bought a COMPLETE ONE PIECE, had it delivered to 4x4Parts in Chula Vista and they fixed it AGAIN at my cost in parts, installation materials and labor. NOT TO MENTION UBERS and Taxi costs. Ri nie sold me an $800 plus night vision, fog recording device that I still 10 plus years later never used, because he never finished setting up yhe device. I was told to just go to the companies site and download an apt, which I never found. So another $800 loss. Now, good. Well every stereo he installed in that truck and my SRT8 Challenger sounded great. Today, I would not buy a cake from his a soda from a coke machines within his store. Again, starts off enthusiastic about builds then Peter out within a week, especially if correcting their issues. There are other issues, when I came in as asked time and all, but their people came in on the schedule hours after me being toke to be there. If I showed an hour late well it was always held against me. BuT their mechanics would show up HOURS later for work, and I would just have to deal with it. So you know, I have spent t inupperwards $30,000 in tires, wheels, truck lifts, sterrios and more. Do Not Go Here. I'll keep it short. They do bad work. They do not listen. They do not communicate. They break parts on your vehicle. Pictures show their work. The first job was so poor I had to leave my truck for another week just to get what I thought was "quality work." They had my truck a total of two weeks. I ultimately had to stop contact with them and file a dispute with my CC company. I now have a more reputable company repairing their work. Do not go here. They thought I would not check their work. The first time they tried to steal from me and not do work I paid for and they damaged my vehicle more than they did actual work. Please do not go here. I was super disappointed going to Ronnies this time around. I went to them a few years back for speakers and a radio in my car and it only cost me around $80 for everything (went with my boyfriend at the time). This time I went, they tried to rip me off by charging $500 just to buy and install a new apple car play radio, without speakers! I must say Ronnie seemed to be a great guy. But his narcissistic son with a bad Attitude clearly has no desire or interest to be in the shop or helping people . After they upgraded the front lights of my car I found out they installed used and refurbished bulbs they take from other cars Or repair and resell. My lights looked tampered with as if someone had glued them together . When I questioned this they said that it was to improve the integrity and durability of the part. WHAT A SCAM. They also Mentioned that all parts and labor had 1 year warranty. After a couple months all the work they did had problems. Lights and doors didn't work, car alarm problems. When I took the car in for repair. Because all the wires started coming undone and lights stopped working . They mentioned that the specific items that are broken only had 6 months warranty . And I needed to Pay for new parts and pay for labor . They also tried to charge me $150 +labor on an exact part that costs $40 on amazon . My experience was similar to other reviewers. I regret taking my classic car to get work done at Ronnie's Electronics. I spent a large amount of dough to get custom suspension work and they ended up breaking parts not even related to the suspension. Their excuse, " it's an old car, your parts were about to break anyways". The short guy will not even apologize or help me find the parts that they broke, or even offer free labor to install the parts they damaged. I get it, it is an old classic car, and that is the reason to treat it with the utmost care, not like a junkyard beater. I had to go find my parts and have another shop fix what they broke. As far as their work is concerned, same thing as others reviewers mentioned, shoddy workmanship, wires that break, grounding issues, poor quality products and upselling. Just finished my 4 week install ! So worth the wait !!! After going to all the major stereo shops in San Diego, And spending 1000's of dollars Ronnie was finally able to meet my expectations and deliver the sound I have been trying to get for the longest time. He rebuilt the entire foundation, wiring, door speakers, woofers, enclosure, processor, big 3, and running. Went from 2 12" T1 slim sealed to 2 8" DD super charged ported and NO JOKE ! My truck hits like crazy ! A big thank you to all the installers, Adam for the advise, and Ronnie for extending himself to any extent to make me happy. If you are serious about sound quality and don't want to play games, please don't waste your time and money and come here to do it right the first time. One of my car lights was out and I called a friend to help, we tried to fix the one light that was out and then both of my lights stopped working.. I looked on yelp and came across Ronnie's Electronics. My friend and I were outside trying to figure everything out with a baylis I had. Ronnie saw us struggling and personally came up to the car and help save me! He saw we blew 2 fuses and recommended a different more efficient light that came with a year warranty if anything should happen. Had the guys install a box and sub in my '08 Dodge Ram. You'll pay a premium price for the merchandise but that's not what concerned me. I ended up adding another amp to power the sub separately. When I took out the HU to disconnect and reconnect the speaker wires, I noticed a few of the wires they cut had not been terminated. Ends of wires just flopping around behind the HU. This could've of potentially caused a short circuit and ruined all kinds of electronics. I guess if you're spending big money, they'll take the time to route the wiring correctly. My sub wiring was just sitting exposed under my seat. This was irritating because I had taken the time to hide all the wiring and expected the same from them. Nope! They're friendly and some of the staff, definitely know what they're talking about and doing. I can't say the same for the technician who installed my sub. read more

Giving this place 1 star is generous. Ronnie is a crook I went there for a receiver and was sold a Sony receiver that was already unboxed with a huge mark up. They were nice before I put down a deposit of half because they needed to order additional parts but after that treated me like shit. They never called me when the parts came in so I called Ronnie and he said "we need to schedule you and appointment". So I decided to do more shopping around and and found a better deal elsewhere. So when I ask for my deposit back He said he couldn't give it back because it was a special order part. So we settled on me just buying that parts which was less then the deposit so I was supposed to get $420 refunded but they wanted to charge me and extra $60 he said for credit card fees. He ended up refunding me $780 after he charged my card again for $390. I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy. This place is a rip off they will be nice to you until they get the money then treat you like shit. read more

I recently had some door speakers installed and after a day later it sounded like the passenger side speaker was blown. I returned to their shop to diagnose the problem but I was put on a 1 week follow up appointment which I guess I understand from being booked and the whole COVID ordeal, also I would like to add these guys don't even wear mask for their customers which tells a lot!. Once I opened up the panel The speaker was only being held on by two self tap screws and wasn't even fully seated to the door frame. Easy fix but, to go in and get this kind of work done is just sad! I can only imagine if they were to due bigger jobs... definitely wouldn't trust the work at all!! Would not recommend !! read more

Horrible! Went in and didn't know much about the audio system in my car and these guys took advantage. Sold me all this different types of electronics that I didn't need and I walked out spending wayyyyyy over then what I should have. Went to Ronnie's today for a small job (amp with 10" woofer install) and the experience was amazing. While I waited, they all greeted me, showed me around and voluntarily gave me a demo of some bad ass sound systems they've installed on their own vehicles. Even though I thought I was wasting their time with my small job, they made me feel like I was VIP. They went above and beyond to educate me on the current woofer products and systems. Bought my silver 2011 Chevy Tahoe in 2015. Three months later brought it to Ronnie's Electronics to discus with him rim and tire options. I had 24" rims on the Tahoe but wanted to upgrade to nicer/better looking 26" rims. His shop has a wide selection but also Ronnie showed me other options he could order to his shop. THE RESULT - I ended up going with these 26" black Bud Ballers. Man do they improve the Tahoe. He ordered them from China and 35-days later they were in his shop. I went to get my sub checked out it stopped working while I was driving thought maybe it was a fuse. Dude came out to look at my setup I had even asked specifically if it's a fuse he looked under my hood, checked my amp, hooked up the little machine and told me pretty much I got cheap wiring and a cheap sub and probably Cuz I went to one of the Arab shops. Then continued to tell me how he only works on higher level stuff. I get home and just out of curiosity check my fuse and the fuse was blown and all melted..... got a new fuse and my sub works fine now. He told me it would be 200 for the installment and the new wires which I would have done but he was just talking about how cheap my stuff is and how he has a Bentley in the garage... lol ok? Turns out it was the fuse smh $4 and my sub is working again. Idk why he didn't just tell me it was my fuse to begin with. read more

Great service from Adam. Adam spent like 15 minutes on the phone with me to make sure he understood what kind of car stereo I needed. I talked about the crap stereo put in my car from a dealer contact and he made sure I had exactly what I wanted - bluetooth, satellite radio and back up camera. There was a bit of a disconnect when I walked in because he wasn't there, b but eventually he came in and took care of the car. He installed a Kenwood and it came in under estimate by $100!
