Washer was fixed within 48 hours of requesting service!! The other two companies had not event contacted me yet.

need to warn people of my experience with Ron's Appliance in Jenison. I have never had communication so bad. Our dryer was not spinning so we called Ron's and they sent someone out. We knew that we had to pay the 95 dollars up front and this was clearly explained. They said that they needed to purchase a part and would contact us when it comes in. Not too long, on Dec 2nd, they called and said that they had the part and scheduled with us on Dec. 4 from 3-5. They never showed up. They never called. We called them the next day and they said they were running behind. When we asked why no one called when they were not able to make it, they said that they called us at 6 but it did not go through as it was a 'blocked number." There was no call made to our number. We rescheduled to December 9 from 3-5. Again, no call, no show. We contacted the next day, and they said that someone hit a pole and their computer system shut down. We repeated our displeasure with a lack of communication, and they agreed to give us the part needed to fix the dryer for free. We appreciated this. We rescheduled for December 11 for 3-5. Again, they did not show up. At 4:45 on December 11 after not hearing anything, I called Ron's. They told me that they were on their way. Waited until 6 without a phone call. No one showed up or called. We called the next day and scheduled an appointment again from 3-5. At 4:40 we called and was told that they were finishing up some paperwork and would be right over. No one showed up. No one called. Finally, we called at 8:15 on December 13. We were told that when they were coming over they had to avoid an accident (the roads were bad), and that is why they were not there. They said that they would be right over in about an hour. I told them that I would call at 10 o'clock as I really didn't trust that they would actually come after 4 no calls, no shows.. This time they arrived right on time and spent about 10 minutes on the dryer, which we appreciate. However, the guy said that our dyer was quiet, which should have been a red flag for me. We just did a load of laundry and used the dyer. The dryer is still not turning. After all that, the dryer is still not fixed. The original work order said "dryer won't turn." So I will never use Ron's Appliance Inc in Jenison and would recommend that others stay away as well. read more

Horrible customer service!!!!! Technician came and said we needed a new thermostat in oven. Charged us $98.80 for service call, here for maybe five minutes. On the day he was supposed to place a new thermostat, we were given a window of expected service which was between 1-3pm. At 3:15, without receiving a phone call saying technician could be late, I called the office. Person answering phone said he just got a call from technician, and he didn't even have time to call me yet. I explained to him that I felt that wasn't very good customer service. Never heard back from them. Would NEVER use their services again!! read more

We gave Ron's one last try since our oven was getting worse, and they came through after denying they failed at first. We wouldn't be in business if we treated our customers like that, the tech insisted. They did a search for our original order and found it and then sheepishly called us back. Oops! The part supplier supposedly dropped the order and never informed Ron's. That makes sense, but isn't really our fault. They fixed the issue and our oven works now so I've changed my review to 3 stars. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. They were great about being here when they said they would, but after that, nothing. Our refrigerator front control panel was acting up, but since it was ok when the tech was there, he said to call him with the code that shows up and he'd be right back out the same day or the next. Next morning it did it again. We called right away with the code. Good thing the fridge still works, just don't have a light in it for some reason. That was a week ago. We've called every day since, a couple of days several times. The part is ordered, will be here in a day or two, UPS hasn't come yet today, I'll call you when they do. They haven't called us back once since this all began. We could've ordered the part on Amazon and had it the next day. We might end up doing that and fixing it ourselves. Our dishwasher slide out upper tray broke and I contacTed Ron's Appliance Repair. They quickly came out to our home and charged $95.00 for the service call. A new part was needed and the tech said it would take about 10 days to get the part from the factory. That was eight weeks ago. I have called multiple times trying to get more information about the delay but NEVER have gotten a call back. This business was run by Ron in the past but Ron has since passed, whoever has this business now is definitely not reliable! Do not give this business any of your money. You may never hear from them again. read more

NON-RESPONSIVE. Came to my house to fix a refrigerator/ice maker. Said they had to order a part and would call when received but they charged service fee (that they demanded had to pay immediately). For the next six weeks, I repeatedly called them and was told, each time, that the part had been ordered and it would only be a few days and they would call. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. Finally, I ordered the part myself (on Amazon) and it came the next day and I installed it and it's working. Sounds like "Ron" died and now his grandson has taken over and he is running the business into the ground. I would never use RON'S again. read more

Completely disappointing experience. We have used Ron's a few times in the past and have been completely happy. Paid for a service call to diagnose our dishwasher in April 2023. After several phone calls to follow up, still no part or repair, but always with the assurance that the part would be here in the next week or two. We are now going into August. Realizing this was going nowhere, we asked for the part name/model number. They would not give it to us. We are done with Ron's. read more

Our dishwasher broke in early March and we had a serviceman come and diagnose the problem, charging us $95. He ordered the parts immediately and said it would take a week or so to arrive at their shop and they'd schedule the repair. After two weeks with no call, I called and they said the part was back ordered and would be coming in a week or so. Cue a cycle of me calling once every one to two weeks, stating my name, and asking for an update on the part, and being told a day that it should arrive. Finally, today (mid-July), my husband called and asked for an update. The man who answered said that it would arrive Thursday. My husband then asked the name of the part, and the man had no clue what part was even needed. He had to ask for our name, the date that we had a serviceman come to diagnose our appliance, and our address. So he had been throwing out random dates all this time without even knowing what part we were looking for, clearly lying to us. We canceled our order with them since they clearly have no respect for their customers. read more

Still waiting on a dishwasher part from 2022. Finally gave up and just bought a new dishwasher instead of continuing to call Ron's and be ignored or told I would receive a callback that never came. I now need a fridge repair and was told my only option was Ron's. So, hesitant I called again. after taking the morning off of work waiting for a service appointment, I called and was told "they'd be there any minute." Maybe they're in a different time zone because it's been 7 hours and ...I guess no one is coming. Very disappointing as Ron's used to be so wonderful. read more

We have now utilized Ron's Appliance on two different occasions, including today. Each time we had a different service person, and each one was very knowledgeable, instructive as to what the problem was, and efficient in repairing the problem. No time was wasted, and I learned lot from each interaction. I love that they are straightforward and let you know if the appliance is even worth fixing and give great recommendations for new if it's not worth fixing! Charges $78 just for a service call. Did not have this information before. Took them just a few minutes to diagnose a very pricey fix. I didnt go ahead with the fix but still was charged the $78. Their response was that other companies charge more. I called Johnsons Appliance Repair right after Rons robbed me and Johnsons charge $55. read more

When I called this company, they said they could make the service call for $68, and if the problem were one of a couple things, they could fix it for an additional $50. That sounded good to me, so I had them come out. When the guy got there, he stayed for a couple of minutes and told me it was one of those two things and that he would fix it for $200, but he would have to come back some other time to do it. I was pretty annoyed that I had set time aside for them to basically not even look at it, and even more so that they wouldn't do it for anywhere near the price they said on the phone. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have paid the $68 they charged for the two mins they spent there since it was based on deception on the phone, but I'm not much for fighting with people. In other news, they misdagnosed the problem anyway, so basically I paid $68 for the privilege of wasting my time. I kind of feel stupid for even calling them in the first place without better references. read more
