We made the 40 minute drive for their Friday Fish Fry based on a friend's recommendation. The meals didn't disappoint! We had baked walleye, fried perch and bluegill. All were delicious, generous portions, and reasonably priced! Service was very pleasant and attentive. Only knock was the long wait for a table of 4 (hour 15min) after we arrived at 5:15. We've eaten at Ron's many times over the years, and it's always been a positive experience with good and plentiful food, very good service, and clean! We stopped in last week as my husband was craving liver and onions, and Ron's is always terrific; he was once again not disappointed! He enjoyed a fluffy baked potato and a cup of chicken noodle soup with it. I ordered the bang bang shrimp wrap and chose their German potato salad as my side. The wrap, while good, was stuffed with a lot of lettuce, not shredded, which made it difficult to eat and lettuce kept sliding out of the wrap onto my plate. The portion of bang bang shrimp was good-sized, but again, had the finished shrimp been chopped up a bit, eating it wouldn't have been so messy. I enjoyed the potato salad at home at lunch the next day. Our server was attentive and polite, and, as always, the restaurant was clean. We'll be back! read more

We hadn't been to Ron's in years, so we thought we'd try their All-you-can-eat Friday Fish Fry. For $12.99, we weren't expecting much! Ias it turns out, we were happily mistaken!! The Cole Slaw, rye bread and German Potato Salad were awesome! For $3.99 we got the nearest things to my wife's grandma's potato pancakes! With applesauce, they were scrumptious! The Cod fish was some of the best we've ever had!!! A note on the crowds: come early! 5pm is typically 45 minutes to an hour wait. 4pm cuts that in half, though the waits are well worth it! read more

Nice spot for breakfast on the weekend. Food is very good and even tho there was only one server, she was very competent and managed to handle a busy dining room on her own. Will stop back to try their fish fry sometime and keep it on our list of breakfast spots for weekend errands. read more

Service was good, friendly young man. Brandy old fashioned s tasted like a kiddy cocktail, no zing to them at all. My wife has meatloaf which was a generous serving and very good! Not so much my broasted chicken. Not seasoned at all, very bland and the breast was dry, overcooked! Not in a hurry to go back! read more

The fish fry is one of the best I've had in a long time, and the fact that they serve it daily is an added bonus. I'd suggest getting the chips over the mediocre fries, but the fish, coleslaw, and tarter sauce are fabulous. Our server, Kaleb, was fantastic. I stopped by Ron's for their Friday Fish Fry dinner. Even at 4pm, the place was jammed, both at the bar and dining room! However, this fish fry was excellent. The fish was flaky and fresh, and the fries were crispy and tasty. Everything is bottomless - as is typical in Wisconsin - so everyone will get their fill. Service was fast and friendly. read more

I wanted to try this place for breakfast after looking at the breakfast buffet picture even though I would order a menu breakfast. The place is in the corner of a strip mall and is not bad looking with a bar on one side and dine room on the other. Lots of light wood all over from the bar to the tables/chairs. The breakfast menu is on the small side with all regulars and the meat lovers skillet sounded good. Service was slow even though I arrived a few minutes after opening and just two tables in service=4 people. Even though they open at 8am the buffet would not be ready until about 8:30 am I was told. The place was filling fast and still one woman trying to work the whole room. My food took a bit long to hit my table, 25 minutes for being the third order into the kitchen. I ordered the meat lovers skillet with three eggs and sourdough toast. The eggs were cooked perfect sunny side up. The sourdough toast was was the generic kind that in a blind taste test with white would be hard to pick out. The meat lovers skillet was made by a Peta cook because all you could taste mainly was the nice hash browns because the ham, sausage and bacon was minimal and diced very small/thin. The hash browns were tasty with that nice mix of golden brown and pillowy soft potatoes. The meat lovers skillet was disappointing because all you could taste was the potatoes and left me wishing that I ordered sausage and eggs to satisfy my breakfast meat crave that I had. Overall the breakfast was very average and I would probably hit some other places in the area next time. read more

The fish fry was not up to par. My wife had pan fried perch and they were greasy and cold.

We each ordered a steak sandwich. I got the tenderloin, it was a large tender piece of meat. That was the best part. The sandwich lacked flavor, if it was grilled or had onions and or mushrooms. Was very boring. The bun got soggy too. I paid extra for soup and it tasted like canned and was very greasy. The other steak sandwich was the same but on French bread. read more

This is a nice little place and cozy as the names suggests. We just happened across this place and it looks nice from what we saw online so we decided to give it a try. The place is very nice and what you would expect from a neighborhood restaurant. Now it's not that small but it's also not that big so you do get a nice sense of relaxed atmosphere. We started out with a small appetizer of potato skins. These were good fresh and hot. For lunch we had three entrées, burger, the broasted chicken, and the children's grilled cheese for my grandson. The hamburger was cooked perfectly and was definitely homemade. The fries were crisp and fresh. Good Burger. Broasted chicken was good and was served a side baked potato which was also very hot and fresh. I'm assuming that we grilled cheese was also good, after all it's just grilled cheese. The prices are very very reasonable for what you get. For everything described above with tip was $45 including soft drinks. The server was attentive and friendly and the restaurant itself including the restrooms were clean and presentable. This is a very good find with decent fair and reasonable accommodations. read more

Nothing bad about Ron's, just nothing special, so considering the vastly better choices around this becomes the choice for many because it's close by and familiar. Ron's isn't what it use to be. Hostess/Waiter looked like he just cut somebody's lawn (short-shorts & T shirt) although our waitress was polite and very professional. Food was acceptable and good, but not great. Decor of the restaurant was minimalistic and cold with wobbly chairs. Many other local eateries that do much better. read more

This was my second time eating here. It is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat while I'm in town. The service has been amazing, the portions are very large, at the taste of the food was tasty. You always got 6 beautiful pieces Of fish but last night it was 8 pieces very small. With the breading very hard to even taste any fish that might be there And slightly overcooked.
