First time here. Came for lunch with a friend. It's on the lake and has a nice view of the water. A very large patio with plenty of seating under umbrellas. Inside is a large bar with tables for different sized groups. Got here a little bit before noon. Got seated right away. Ordered a couple of cold beverages while checking out the menu. It took a while for our server to get back to us, which was not a problem for us (couple of retired guys), but would have been if I were in a hurry. I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. My friend got the Chicken Wings, dry rub with Smokehouse BBQ. It didn't take too long for the food to arrive. However, the Chicken Wings weren't dry rubbed; they had a sauce, which turned out to be the Habanero. My hamburger was excellent, done medium-rare. There were plenty of caramelized onions, and I loved the texture and taste of the haystack onions on top. However, the fries were lukewarm. It took another while for our server to get back to us to check on things. Mentioned the wings to the server. She took them back to the kitchen and had the correct wings made. By the time they came back out, I was done with my meal, and he was just getting started. Never got asked about a refill on beverages, so I had to ask for some more iced tea. The burger was good, the view is great. But the service, both at the table and in the kitchen, was disappointing. Not an experience that would have me enthusiastic about going back. read more

Outdoor dining is super comfortable here, and we had a great meal on the deck. I decided on the Chicken Wings with tator tots, and I over-ate! But it was worth it! Bacon Wrapped Shrimp was special, and a burger on a toasted bun was yummy. We were not aware that this was a Bingo night, inside and out. 10 free cards for the asking, and prizes for the lucky players. While it was fun, the emcee was rather limited in his banter, and it became a bit of a joke for us as we took a drink every time he repeated the same line. (We had to stop long before the 4th game in order to drive home safely.) Foolery's is fun and the food is good. Families and friends will enjoy the place. read more

We came in today for lunch and sat at a table next to a window. Great deck for sitting but it was pretty windy today. We liked our server, she was friendly and helpful but way overworked. My wife ordered a salad and I ordered a turkey club. Both were delicious with good portions. The are many good beers and they have a good wine list. The atmosphere alone is a reason to go! Sit on the patio, enjoy the sun and lake breeze! You'll feel like you are in FL sitting right in Okauchee. You'll be surrounded by bright colored tables, chairs, and umbrellas! The service was excellent. Our server was willing to answer any questions and she came back over multiple times to check and make sure that we were doing okay. She was smiling and happy the entire time! For drinks we ordered a kiddie cocktail, patron marg, and another summer drink special that I can not remember :) For an appetizer we ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp which are wrapped each day and only served until they run out. They were delicious, but then everything is better with bacon. The dip is a truffle oil and honey mixture that is oh so tasty! I had the Mahi-Mahi sandwich and the fish was really good, but the bun was just okay and overall there was not a ton of flavor. My son ordered the nachos. He said they were very good and the portion size was decent. The wings were ordered by my younger son and he eats them naked. I did try one and they were very good. Five of us dined here Saturday night. I ordered the Grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich to take home for my daughter. When I got home, we discovered the Lemon Aioli and Salsa Verde were not included. Nor did it appear to be seasoned at all with the lime rub or salt & pepper. Without these, the fish sandwich was not good to eat - was dry and bland. I called Foolery's to mention this, and was told "I'm sorry those weren't included and I hope this doesn't happen again." I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it seems a gesture of some sort would have been a nice act of kindness for the mishap. Sandwich was $17 + 20% tip. read more

This place was a wonderful place to get a nice meal on the lake! 3.5 stars for sure but rounding down bc the food is just so so. This place is about what you would expect - decent food that isn't particularly fresh or healthy, good friendly service with a beautiful lakefront setting. Ordered Mahi wrap. No seasoning on fish. Fish in one big piece. Probably better broken up for wrap. Picked jalapeño. Fresh fish use fresh jalapeño. To much jerk sauce. To sweet not authentic. Also had clam chowder as substitute for chips. Definitely from can. And charged full price. If charging full price should still get chips. Price bit high. Fine if food quality matched. My suggestions they get better chef or customers just go to Hideway bar instead. read more

We visited Foolery's yesterday after 6pm. I had their full sized salad vs side salad specifically to have the eggs. The waitress was pleasant and was timely with our drink orders. After 30 minutes of waiting and not seeing our waitress, we spoke with another waitress who advised us that the kitchen was backed up about an hour. When we were able to spot and stop our waitress approximately 15 minutes later, we asked about our order. It was at this time she mentioned the kitchen delays. We inquired about cashing out our beverage orders if our meals were not yet started by the kitchen staff. Less than 2 minutes we had our orders. I noticed the eggs listed on the menu were missing, our waitress stated she would check on that. We did not see her until it was time to pay the check. I inquired about the egg status, the reply was they were out. To this I inquired about a price adjustment, with a reply of "there is none and if there was, it would only be 10 cents." We have been patrons of Foolery's for years, being loyal through new ownerships. Service for the most part can be slow where we would take breaks from our visits there. This by far was the least enjoyable visit. Not sure about when the next return visit will be and will place this totally on the waitress who provided very poor communication and service read more

I've been meaning to come here for ages since my boyfriend claimed these are the best cheese curds he has ever had...needless to say they were a little disappointing, given all the hype. They are perfectly fine, just not the best in Wisconsin. They had a great selection of food and beers - both of the people I was with really enjoyed their burgers. We were able to sit outside overlooking the lake, which was a wonderful view. The service was great, and it was definitely a fun atmosphere. Would come back. read more

Food is pretty darn good ... but the venue and the ambience is the reason to be there!

Worst experience there to date. Most likely we will not be giving them another chance, for certain not for food. Yuck. Thankfully our waitress was phenomenal, but the food was terrible, especially after we had to wait what seemed like forever. My veggie wrap was smothered in sauce I didn't like & had asked for on the side. The fries were long dead & the rest of are meals were either dry or boring. For this, we waited for close to an hour after we ordered. Yes, I said something. No they didn't offer anything but a drink, which I said "no thank you" to. No need to sit there any longer than we had to. We all agreed to stick to The Hideway & told the waitress she should apply over there. Apparently we weren't the 1st people to recommend that. We tipped her well & she apologized that she couldn't do more. Enjoy a drink on their patio, but if you're hungry, go elsewhere. read more

Half the items ordered we were charged more than the menu price because...reasons? If wings went up in price then have the servers alert you when ordering now when delivering the bill. We were told our cocktails were $18 and then they came back to ask for more money because it's actually $24! Service was horrible, put our name on the wait list and past the time quoted I went to the host stand and waited 20min with no host to be seen. Customers sat themselves ahead of the list and there's plenty of servers who could've helped out. Asked for a manager, was told there's none on duty. Food and drinks were good, but way too many negatives to want to come back any time soon. read more

A few bad experiences! First time I noticed sweaty bar back set a sweat filled rag(I seen him wipe himself) on the area food comes out on. Second time my wings were served undercooked(NOT AWARD WINNING ANYMORE) Bar is always sticky and nasty, wait staff is over worked, short staffed for sure during the rushes. I ate at this restaurant on Wednesday night this week and the only thing I can provide positive feedback on is nothing. We knew it was busy but the inside was not crowded but we waited at least 45 minutes for our food. Everything was cold and two orders of the Buffalo chicken wraps had almost no Buffalo sauce. It was like they ran out and had to split what they had left. My wings were cold with very little sauce and the Haystack onion straws were so cold I ask for a new batch. The server took them in the back and returned about 30 seconds later. Yeah he nuked them and passed them off for fresh. The food is very good. The service is mehhh. 2nd time in a row I received bad service. My waitress literally disappeared. I had to hunt somebody down twice. My salad was served without my salad dressing by someone other than my waitress. A few bites into my sandwich and I decided to hunt down a server. A young man apologized and said he would get it for me. About 5 minutes later I see him taking food out to another table. Still no dressing, and no sight of my waitress. Finally another young lady server that I flagged down said that they are out of my preferred dressing and asked for an alternative selection. My prior bad experience was just a young unfriendly male bartender that seemed to care less about us or what we think or if we may need anything. Went there for lunch and had a $13 Thai salad, which turned out to be nothing but cut up green cabbage, a couple slices of cut up red pepper and a few wontons on top. It was almost comical! The dressing was so spicy it burned our throats. With soda and tip it ended up being a $20 lunch. The music was blasting, and we were the only table in there right at 11 AM. The service was also terrible considering we were the only table in there. I would never return there and I would give it a zero rating if I could. What a nightmare for the second time this summer.... Last Saturday for my Wife's birthday, we decided on Foolery's. You can't argue against the ambiance and the scenery. Just magnificent. BUT! For the second time this summer, the service was simply horrible, nay... pathetic. We sat down at 6:30pm. 3 people. We were told the kitchen is backed up an hour. Ok. Ordered drinks. Fine. Ordered an Appetizer. Fine. At 7 we ordered dinner. Nothing fancy, my wife and her friend both ordered wraps, I had the Mahi- Mahi. Pretty simple. At 45 minutes, we were looking at our watches... nothing. Hour and fifteen minutes. Nothing. Now the deck wasn't overly crowded. And I went to the bathroom and the inside wasn't very crowded either. I was puzzled. I peaked in the kitchen and saw some cook dancing away in there. Hmmmmmm. Our waitress came by said we were next up at 8:20pm. Still nothing...another half hour... nothing. It was approaching almost 9 when we were gonna just bag it and hit Culver's. Finally the food came. The wraps were fine, my Mahi was cold. And everyone else on the deck was getting the same crappy service. Some people left. We will not be back anytime soon. read more
