Not one server or hostess was wearing a mask. We asked our waitress to put on a mask and she said no in a very roundabout way, stating she has asthma. It's my opinion she should be even more careful! We should have asked for another server and that is my regret- although I'm not sure they with have complied either. Food was mediocre. Not worth the risk. I have never been to this place but can't wait until I'm able to come back I had the Reuben sandwich and the cornbeer is the actual brisket corn beef not the crappy deli meat most places try to pass off as real corned beef. My wife had the spaghetti and meatballs lots of pasta meatballs appear to be homemade and were yummy. I've been coming to Ron's for a few years now, and have never had a bad meal. I tend to order the fish, it is wonderful . Their menu is huge, the prices are very reasonable and the place is very clean. The servers are well informed of the menu items and are always willing to answer any questions. It was a complete mess since we stepped foot into the building. Our waitress didn't really want to help us out. When I tried ordering a wrap on Friday the waitress told me that they only had the fish and salads that's it. After the group I was with ordered I asked again if they had anything other than the fish to eat and she said yes we have burgers and simple sandwiches. So I ordered the 1lb Ron burger. It came out black like a hockey puck. We told are waitress and she didn't want to deal with it so she had the manager/owner come over and help us out. She asked if I wanted something different so I decided why not and got the Texas burger without onion straws on it. It came out fine but the buns were very soggy. The waitress never asked if we wanted refilled or anything. After that the one person in my group got the fish and the chicken. They got the fish batch of fish and chicken then only got fish for the refill. It took over 30 mins to get one thigh and a wing but it also smelt like burnt plastic and popcorn for some reason. When it was time for the bill someone completely different not even our own waitress gave us the bill. He asked if it was together or separate and we told him separate. 5 mins later our waitress came by and asked the same question. The guy came over and gave us the bills while she asked the question and said that he had it covered. We paid and the guy said that he was sorry for whatever happened and hoped that we come back but I'm truely not sure if I'm ever gonna come back. read more

My wife and I were searching the web for places for a good fish fry, when we ran across Ron's Cozy Corner. Now there are times when I'm in the mood for a healthy plate of baked fish, but that's NOT a fish fry. A fish fry should consist of flaky fish enrobed in either a coating of crispy bread crumbs that almost snap as you break the crust, or a batter that tastes of happiness and combines a crunch and chew in equal proportions. If you want baked fish, do not go to Ron's. If you want large portions of really tasty batter dipped cod, with enough leftovers to make a sandwich the next day, then you have found your restaurant! The decor is simple and has the feel of a comfortable Greek diner, kinda mixed with a bar. The wait staff is friendly and the service was efficient. We chose the family style cod. The first thing they brought was a bowl of coleslaw, German potato salad, and rye bread. The coleslaw was pleasant, the German potato salad was just average. The fry is what we came for, and it came on a platter heaped with fish and steak fries. The portions are generous and the fish was tasty. It satisfied the urge for fish fry, and I'd go back again. We got there at about 4:50 on Friday, and by the time we left at 5:40 there was a wait. I would recommend getting in early, then going for a walk to keep your heart pumping. read more

Got here about 5:30 for fish fry. We tried this on a recommendation of a friend while we are in town on vacation. We waited about 40 minutes for a table. They had some outside seating and they called the names over the loudspeaker. It was comfy but there were some little green bugs landing on us which was not great. The tables inside were very close together, my son needed to use the restroom and he politely said "excuse me" three times to the man whose chair was blocking his way and he didn't even acknowledge him. The restaurant seemed clean and all of the staff were very nice. They were very accommodating of my request to change it up a bit on a fish order which I very much appreciated. The French fries were okay. We did not try the potato salad, coleslaw, or rye bread because we don't eat those things. The walleye, perch, bluegill, and cod were good but not great. I like the fish fry at Stolley's Hog Alley better but we wanted to try something new this time And we love little local places. My son didn't want fish - he wanted pasta but I guess they have a limited menu on fish fry Friday (only fish, chicken, or burgers) --something I wish we would have known. An okay experience overall. The clientele is mostly elderly which makes no difference to me but it might to someone wanting to give it a try. read more

My boyfriend and I just left Ron's after eating breakfast. The food was very good, but the service was terrible. Our waitress seemed like she did not want to be there, had an Attitude sort of tone. I have been here several other times and the service always seems to be bad, but of you can deal with it, it's worth it for the food. This was excellent fish fry, but you have to get there early on a Friday if you don't want to wait. If you do have to wait, they have a large bar area with televisions and of course it's smoke free. The rest of their menu is fairly standard, and if it's anywhere near the quality of the fish, you'll leave satisfied. I have a sense of humor and enjoy things that are a little different so I enjoyed it. The food was good, there was a wide variety with great prices. The food was very good and served hot!!! The wait staff is extremely friendly and made our dining experience a pleasure. We will be back! I've been to Ron's Cozy Corner several times, mostly for lunch and a few times for breakfast. I have to say I have mixed reviews about the meals I've had. Overall the service has been attentive and timely, but most of the times I've gone for a meal it hasn't been too busy. The burgers I've tried were nothing special and I wouldn't order again. The meat lovers omelette would have benefited from a little less cooking time and the hash browns could have used more cooking time. The best meal I've had at Ron's was the reuben. The marble rye had a crisp on the outside and was soft on the inside with a generous portion of corned beef, kraut, and dressing. Honestly, it was one of the better reuben sandwiches I've enjoyed. If you like reuben sandwiches this is one to try. However, overall, based on several visits and different dishes I can only give Ron's three stars, but the reuben is a 4 star sandwich. read more

I had a taco salad the first time I went to Ron's. My daughter had the chicken tenders. I was happy with my taco salad. There was a good amount of meat in it. The chicken tenders looked great as well. The steak fries were wonderful, not too much salt. I went to Rons again on a Friday for lunch. I ordered the fish and seafood platter, which included fried scallops, fried shrimp, and the cod. The plate was excellent. The fish on the platter was wonderful. The batter on the fish was just excellent, not too salty or peppery. The scallops were not at all dry, however the shrimp was a little over fried and dark brown. However dipping into the cocktail sauce (which was also great) I could not tell. The portion on the Fish Fry was great! My guest was full from the generous plate. He did not have to order the other 2 pieces that they offer. I will recommend Rons Cozy Corner anytime!!! read more

I give a rating based on what's expected vs what it is. I didn't expect much, but Ron's is quality comfort food for a great price. The staff is friendly and accommodating as well. I hate writing this review, as I told my husband for 3 years that we didn't want to go there, only to find out I was wrong. I don't like being wrong. We have had burgers, pork chops, fish fry, broasted chicken, and sides. All worth a second trip, if not a third. Can't wait to try breakfast.
