Pizza was great! The taste, the crunch everything delicious. The service was friendly and fast.

Decent, albeit unspectacular pizza. Friendly people. Located beliw/in back of lindys. Worth a look if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

I've seen a lot of good reviews of this place so we thought we should head out and try it. Always looking for good pizza! This wasn't it. I didn't like the flavor of the sauce and it just looked way overcooked and was very dry. I've seen others post pics of their pie and it looked very similar, so I'm assuming that's just the way they make it. It sat in my stomach in a lump afterwards... indigestion. I tried again with leftovers the next day and same thing. Just did not like the flavor at all. We won't be back.

Before I begin, I'll preface this review by saying that Twins Pizza in North Providence is my favorite pizza ever. Ron's Pizza? Absolutely delicious, and very close in style and taste to Twins, some might even say better than twins, but I won't go that far. Had a large pepperoni pizza and an antipasto salad on 12/6, great food, great price. Small little takeout only pizza joint on the lower level of Lindy's tavern. Ordering / pickup was quick and easy, grabbed a few beers upstairs at Lindy's while I waited. Might be my new favorite northern Rhode Island pizza.

Pizza and toppings are amazing along with the price for northern Rhode Island - friendly service & fresh fresh ingredients - one of the only places I can find fresh mushrooms on pizza!!! Great Job Ron's Pizza !!!

I can't speak to the fried clams etc because I don't eat that stuff, but my understanding is that it's the same as what Lindy's serves.

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Absolutely Perfect in all ways…read more It really takes a lot for me to say something is perfect because I've been in the restaurant business for many years. My family owned a well-known restaurant in Providence RI for years called Alfredo's. So we came here last night, Saturday on the recommendation from someone my mother knows. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted at the door by the maitre'd. We felt welcomed. We were then seated at a table in the main dining room. It was clean and classy. We had a wonderful waiter named Velat. He was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He was also very attentive. He gave us world-class service because he cleared plates and made sure that the bread and the water was filled and removed old silverware and replaced them. We had an eggplant appetizer along with stuffed mushrooms. I also had a Caprice mozzarella salad that I shared with a friend of mine. Then came the salads, they were delicious, cold and fresh. I liked that the blue cheese dressing was homemade and you could tell by the taste. I had the chicken parmesan with ziti. The food was excellent. The chicken was very tender. When we were finished with dinner he brought the dessert tray with many of the desserts made in-house. Although we didn't get the dessert because we were going home to a birthday party. It was nice to see that they made an attempt to show us what they had. Upselling is important and expected in the restaurant business. Thank you for the amazing dinner and experience. This is what quality looks like. We will be back!

It's just the kind of place that you might suspect as a place no one would ever think to look for you. The Witness Protection Program notwithstanding you would be lucky to be located in Glendale because in this village basically in the middle of nowhere, there is a restaurant called Bella. At first, you might drive right by this place discounting it as something less than it is. But when you drive around front, you'll see a very nice patio, a main entrance and an entrance to their banquet facility. That's right! I said banquet facility in Glendale RI. So luckily for me I have avoided the witness protection program but in doing so I have also avoided any knowledge of this place until just recently. I can tell you that's a point of great sadness for me because on my first visit there I realized that this little hidden gem is something that I could have been taking advantage of for a fairly long time In terms of ambiance the place is well appointed both inside and out. It's comfortable and boldly says Italian restaurant. The front of the house is staffed with what appears to be experienced and knowledgeable people, from the bussers, to the food runners, to the servers and the floor managers. You can tell that the owners of this establishment have spent some time training this staff in the excellence of customer service. I don't want to name names because I'll leave someone out. I want to say that everyone that we encountered on the entire front-of-house staff work together to make sure that every diner got what they needed or wanted at the exact time they needed or wanted it. The dining room was a ballet of people rushing in and out of the kitchen and regardless of whether they were designated as your server or not, as they passed by you they unhurriedly asked do you have everything you need, how is everything, etcetera It seemed to me that Bella's kitchen is as close to scratch kitchen as you can get. They have a small host of salad dressings all which are made in house. More than half of the desserts are made in house, even the butter for the bread is concocted in house. If you're going to an Italian restaurant, the measurement, in my opinion, of whether they understand their mission is the red sauce that they serve. It should be RED, not maroon. It should be light and a little chunky. Most of all it should complement the pasta, not smother it. I am going to say that the pomodoro sauce (aka Marinara) that was on my dinner ranks amongst the three best red sauces I've ever eaten in a restaurant. I was impressed by the answers when I asked the same 2 questions, I always ask when I'm considering ordering eggplant. First question, I always ask is the skin on the eggplant and the second question is, is the eggplant breaded. I am of the opinion that there should be no skin on an eggplant when it's served and there is no reason to add bread crumbs on eggplant. The server's answer was: there is no skin and yes there is bread crumbs on it. But that doesn't matter, how do you want it. I said well I would like it to be peeled and then dipped in some flour some seasoned egg and pan fried and then stacked into eggplant parm. That's exactly what I got, The most delicious thinly sliced eggplant so lightly battered and fried, it wasn't oily it wasn't heavy, it wasn't a greasy pyramid and unlike many places in Rhode Island you could actually taste the eggplant which was undoubtedly fresh and delicious. It came with enough pasta. I'm sure you're asking what that means. This is my new measurement of serving size. It is enough if I eat half the eggplant and half the pasta was left, then it's enough. If I eat all the eggplant and none of the pasta is left then it wasn't enough if I eat all the eggplant and a ton of pasta was left then it was too much. As far as the bar is concerned, I drink a very simple drink it's vodka, lime and ice in a shaker. Shake the ever-loving daylights out of it pour it in a rocks glass. I'm telling you only one or two out of 10 restaurants get it right and Bella's is one. Here's the rundown. The food is well above average, exceptional even. The bar is right on point. The service is fast, friendly and inviting. The surroundings are nice, clean and exactly what you want in an Italian restaurant. The prices are well below the "downtown" prices in Providence. Bella does not have a web-based reservation ability, just call them any time, leave a message, and someone will get right back to you. I know what you're thinking but it worked really well! Oh, one last thing. When you see him, tell Giuseppi the owner and dining room ambassador, that it's okay that he's Sicilian, we can just pretend that he's Italian. (If you know, you know.) Long story short...you really need to go to Bella tonight (Thur,Fri,Sat,Sun)! Have I ever lied to you!?

Young, energetic and comical. He rolled with our punches. Unfortunately we found the service to be slow and I think it had more to do with the kitchen as the waited was attentive. The salad bar was a little pathetic looking. I LOVE a salad bar but I just couldn't pull myself to move in that direction based off of looks. The guys I was with thought the low bar looking like the place to be and were intrigued by it. What I mean by low bar is there are two bars. One in the main dining area and another off to itself and recessed in. I had bruschetta and chicken parm. The bruschetta was tiny chopped tomato's and onions. It was pretty mushy and just too much actual food shoved on toast. We let the last piece meet the trash. Nobody at the table was interested in it. I had the chicken parm. Nothing special. It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere, so why was it difficult to get a reservation for Saturday night? Simply said, great food at reasonable prices. Our choices were 4:30 or 6:30, we chose to go early after a two-mile chilly walk along the beautiful Blackstone Canal, just 7 minutes away from the UxLocale. We were seated immediately and our waitress arrived in just moments. We were provided menus, waters and we ordered some drinks which arrived not long after. There were only a few patrons here as the UxLocale opens at 4pm. The menu changes weekly, and our party of four selected: * Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese * Tuscan Shrimp Pappardelle * Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle * (2) 1.5" New York Strip Steak * Cannoli for Dessert Let's start with the steaks. In a word, delicious! Both were cooked perfectly medium rare, tender and juicy. Two sides are included, I got the Beet Salad (tasty and nicely dressed) and the potatoes with bacon which were awesome. A co-diner ordered the same dish but got the Caesar salad which he liked very much. We both agreed, a solid 5-star dinner at a reasonable $37 price. The shrimp plate looked beautiful and substantial. The diner loved it and ate every bite. The Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle was also tasty, albeit with strong pepper undertones. If you don't like a lot of pepper, you might try a different dish, or ask if the chefs can cut back on it. That said, I liked it and would be happy to order this. Most of the diners liked the Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese Skillet (slices of Pecorino Romano cheese, warmed to a mild melt and drizzled with truffle-infused honey. The salty, sharp cheese and sweet, pungent honey are a classic pairing in Tuscan cuisine. Warmed and served on a cast-iron skillet). I liked it, one diner thought it was too salty, though that is the way it's described above. The dishes are all large, three of us brought home leftovers. We finished by sharing a cannoli dessert, which was excellent, crispy cannoli with a light and tasty filling. An outstanding dinner, with excellent services at a reasonable price (dinner for four with drinks was $209 before tip). A solid 5-stars on this visit. Note that they request tips be left in cash (for all of us who use little if any cash these days). There is a cash machine when you first enter.

There was no valet service, and the parking lot was already full, but we found a street parking spot very close to the restaurant. We were seated immediately at a window table overlooking the pond, one of Alicante's nicest features. We've dined here many times over the years, although our last visit was disappointing due to sluggish service. Fortunately, this evening proved to be a return to form. Ice water, wine, and warm bread arrived almost immediately as our attentive three-person service team got us settled. While the evening specials were tempting, we opted for two longtime favorites from the regular menu: Piccata di Pollo - $27 Shrimp Scampi - $29 Total with wine and tax: $84.53 Our entrées arrived promptly, hot, and beautifully prepared. The chicken piccata was exceptionally tender, complemented by a bright, flavorful lemon-butter sauce. The shrimp scampi featured perfectly cooked shrimp in a classic butter and garlic sauce that was well-balanced and not over-seasoned. As always, the portions were generous--enough that some of the chicken accompanied us home. After one less-than-memorable visit, it was nice to see Alicante back at the top of its game. Excellent food, attentive service, and a beautiful setting make this a restaurant we look forward to visiting again. Tip: Even though Alicante is on Route 16, you can park along the road.
