Highly recommended. Jose and his team really know their business. They replaced the old roof on my four unit building by removing everything down to the plywood. They installed new shingles, flashing, roof vents, trim and extensive siding that had to be removed to install proper flashing. They had to replace quite a bit of roof structure due to dry rot cause by insufficient flashing in the reroofing 35 years ago. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. The project leader, Jesus, was excellent. He was obsessive about doing things right, and communicated frequently to make sure I understood what was happening and why, and to accommodate my needs. I am one hundred percent satisfied with the job. I did not get competitive bids because RL had done such a good job fixing disastrous leaks leaks last winter. They seemed relatively expensive, but you get what you pay for. There were add-ons, but they were for issues that Jose couldn't have know about when bidding. I knew our roofing and deck project was going to be complex due to the vast amount of externally visible dry rot and water damage we had but I had no idea how pervasive the damage was until we started the job. After the work started we saw we had extensive dry rot under the siding in most walls of the building that went from the ground to the roof (3 stories!). Roofing Logistics was extremely detailed in discovering many large-scale water issues we had and in the repair. I am very grateful for that detail, otherwise years from now the dry rot issues and leaks could return and cost us even more money! I formed a great relationship with the owner of Roofing Logistics and appreciated when he pointed out non-roofing issues that needed repair. Roofing Logistics never pressured me to fix or "buy more" of anything - they just wanted me to know. I saw another Yelper that was upset by this but why would you replace your roof if you're not going to fix other big issues that could let water in like our incorrectly installed windows and other things? I don't understand that. The quality of Roofing Logistic's work is impeccable and they were a pleasure to work with. They were available all times of the night if an issue arose and were extremely responsive via text. We had unexpected charges for our job but honestly, the final job with the roof + the deck (another contractor) came in under our highest bid for both jobs. I think it was very reasonable when you factor in the difficulties that arose in repairing our building. I'd work with them again in a heartbeat. read more

I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work done by Roofing Logistics, and the team has been very easy, even pleasurable, to work with. However, I really don't like how the cost of our project unfolded over time. We got three bids on our project, and Roofing Logistics was the middle one, much closer to our lowest bid than to the highest. But the final cost of our roof ended up being more than double their original bid. When I used to do construction, we would bid jobs as either time + materials, or quote a fixed cost. With the latter, we would pad our bid to cover expected risks. If we didn't run into many problems, then that money was basically a bonus, but in many cases, dealing with problems exceeded our padding, and we made less money than projected. Anyway, Roofing Logistics protects themselves with change orders. In other words, they give you fixed cost bid, and then they charge time + materials for any additional work required to deal with problems they run into. In our case, the cost of the change orders significantly exceeded their original bid, which seems upside down. All of this is a long way of saying you should be cautious with Roofing Logistics. They do good work, but I would try to negotiate upfront on how to deal with change orders - e.g. ask them to cap the cost, or provide a rigorous risk assessment upfront. read more

We got several bids, Roofing Logistics had the most specific and reasonable plan, though not the lowest price. They bid a high quality long lasting standing seam metal roof along with reducing a chimney in height to prevent earthquake damage. Scheduling concerns, which the owner Jose Guerrero was up front about, left us with a different contractor for the job. The only real concern is Jose was not fully up to date on the energy and insulation impacts of various roof venting options. This is an are that has changed a lot, and it would do well if you have a roof done to get an insulation/energy expert/building performance contractor to evaluate what changes can improve the overall roof performance. read more

Beware Roofing Logistics will make recommendations on your property to redo siding, replace stucco, more roofing work than is needed. They only have a license for roofing work yet continuously make recommendations outside of that. I trusted them as experts until they started recommending hundreds of thousands of dollars of work on my home. They started my roofing work in April 2017 and it's still not complete in almost August. Having someone do work on your roof is nerve-wracking. You know it's really important and you don't know that much about it yourself. So you're basically trusting someone to do a good job that you can't really tell if they have or not. Jose came out to check my roof in the huge rains of December and stood on my roof with me in the downpour to help me evaluate it. He showed me everything and explained it. He even unclogged my drain spouts on the spot just because he knew it needed to be done. I had not even awarded the job to him yet. I did award Roofing Logistics the job and I was very happy with the decision. His team is professional and friendly, helping me onto the ladder to show me the work they did. They sealed and coated the drain edge around the perimeter of the house and cut a sample of the roof to determine if it had been done right or needed work. I asked for a couple of extra things to be done and they were added with no difficulty. I found the pricing very competitive and even better than I had feared, but the most important thing was that they did good work and went the extra mile to do so. read more

This involved an older backyard playhouse that needed significant siding repair along with the roof . Not every roofer is willing to do all the carpentry required. Martin H. The best of the best! Jose an his crew were no only professional but extremely nice and helpful. Our old roof came off and before they could finish installing the new roof, it rained. We had some leaks, but not only did Jose and his foreman come out to cover the roof to prevent further leakage, Jose took care of the any repairs the attic and ceiling because of the leaks. He also went so far as to fix something not connected the leak-putting stryofoam blocks around the recessed light fixtures so the insulation won't catch fire. The roof looks great! Jose sat with us and explained everything before he even started. Gave us brochures, samples-even a sample board of the roof so we could tell how it would look. He offered varying costs depending on the type of roof we wanted. This review is long overdue. I had Roofing Logistics install a new roof on my home in SF last fall - before the heavy rains. The roof was installed to accommodate new solar panel. Jose was great and his foreman Jesus even better. The bid received was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. His detail and willingness to explain EVERYTHING was what set Jose and his team apart from all others. It took about 3 weeks to get the new roof completely installed. There were some rainy days that delayed things. During the installation, every aspect of repair and reconstruction was well communicated. Additional costs to repair things (rot, etc that you cannot know about until the old roof is taken off) were all fair. No gauging or trying to overcharge for anything. One thing about this company and Jesus the foreman that amazed me was their concern over the house when it might rain. One evening, at about 8pm (in the dark), Jesus showed up asking if he could could climb up on the roof (again in the DARK) to make sure all the tarps and stuff were secure for the rain we were supposed to get the next day. Jose, Jesus and everyone at Roofing Logistics went above and beyond to install the new roof and make sure we were happy. I cannot recommend them more strongly! If you want the job well done you have to call Jose! The roof on my home needs to be completely replaced however, since we haven't had much rain I intend to only do a small repair on a spot that was terribly ugly. I was scheduled to have the repair man come by at 8 am and sure enough they sent over a gentleman by the name of Sergio. He was very polite and got the job done, with out any issues! He explained to me step by step as far as what he was going to do to. I appreciated that particular note because I had no idea how he could fix my roof. After a few hours the job was done! We contracted with Roofing Logistics to put a new roof on our house in Berkeley recently. Our house is a hundred years old and has had numerous additions and remodels over the years. As a result, the roof also had sections of different ages and work of differing quality. We have quite a few different angles on the roof, skylights and seams. In preparing his bid, Jose Guerrero took many detailed pictures of the roof from various views, and showed them to us on his large-screen laptop. Every detail of the anticipated work was made clear to us. We thought his bid was reasonable, especially given the complexity of the job.
