Called ahead to check on seating; was told it was not busy. I specifically asked for a taste of the Scotch ale; so I could decide between that and the spiced beer. Apparently, the tap beer was from a keg from last year, so the server changed my request and poured out a portion of a canned product. He told me as he was serving me - thereby circumventing my request. He and his associate were going to taste the keg and one later told me there was something wrong with the flavor (?). Most of the seating was the awful metal stools; my back was in pain, so I tried to make a request to move to one of the Adirondack chairs, but could not find any of the staff - Apparently, it was "too slow" and one of the two left early - and sure enough, the place got slammed. 25 people showed up within 15 minutes - one couple waited more than 5 minutes to be allowed in, but finally walked away. It's ok, I have driven by, then Yelp listed it as top 10 for Seahawks games, so I came by and.... nope not for Seahawks games. Beer was ok, not bad if you live in the neighborhood. But if your driving in there may be other places that are MUCH better.... again not a bad review, service was good, location ok, beer ok.... overall ok....unless you live close by then it's good. read more

The service here has continuously sucked. First, Seattle Freeze hospitality; be politer to your guests and they'll want to return. Second, their menu has no pricing and I feel cheated because they don't even give you a bill or receipt, they just tell you and take your card (no signature even). Lastly, despite all this I returned just now on a Tuesday night to give it another chance. Because of COVID you must wait at a chained off gate to enter. I have always driven past this spot but never knew such a cool hidden gem. They have a good selection of beers and ciders. They even have popcorn that you can snack on that is freshly popped. They have patio seating that is covered and seating outside with an awesome view. I noticed they had heaters for when it's cold. This is a family and dog friendly spot. I was visiting the area and stopped at Rooftop Brewing, definitely a good choice! The beer was good and the staff were super awesome. I'll definitely visit Rooftop the next time I'm in town. I sat inside but the patio looked really nice, it was nighttime also, so didn't get to enjoy any type of view, but the inside is set up nicely, definitely smaller than outside. There was also a popcorn machine and the popcorn was actually pretty yummy. I visited at least 10-15 different breweries around Seattle during my trip and this was definitely one of the best ones. read more

What a great little place! It's a cozy size which I really like. Very cool wood and rusted metal accents. We sat out at the patio with our dog. There were hearing lamps all over which was awesome. You can order outside at the window/barn door which is super convenient. Otherwise you walk around a wall to go inside. Excellent beer selection at great prices. A friendly guy poured out beers and had awesome Addidas on! Music was indie and at a nice volume. Help yourself to popcorn inside at the popcorn cart. Hold up how did I never know this place existed until now? Suppose that is because it is kind of a neighborhood bar, even though walking there would involve navigating a steep hill for those living in Magnolia. What works for this place: Atmosphere, great staff, the view, really chill spot. The patio is open air in the back. And best of all it doesn't really get packed. This is where you want to go to meet up with 3 or 4 friends and catch up on good times. This place is going to become my new go to spot for watching games. What could be better: They don't serve food, but there is always a food truck parked outside and you are naturally allowed to bring the food in. read more

Just did a quick check out of this place recently to meet a friend. This is a small brewery with a small inside taproom and a decent outdoor area with mostly picnic tables. The beer was definitely solid enough and they have a rotation of food trucks that come later in the day! I'm actually writing this review for one beer in particular. Last summer, I was vacationing in Seattle and visited the Seattle Beer Company at Pike's market. I ordered a Rooftop Blood Orange Wheat beer, and I have to say, it was the best beer I've ever tried. I've found something similar here in Las Vegas, but not quite as good. I hope to visit the brewery in a future visit to Seattle so I can try some of their other beers. And maybe have another Blood Orange Wheat. read more

This place is great rain or shine. It does get busy after work hours and it's sometimes hard to find a bar area/ table but there's always standing room. The beers are delicious and they have different specials for each day of the week. For example teachers get a discount on Tuesdays. read more

This is definitely the best brewery in Seattle! Whether it be a weekday wind-down or a weekend celebration, this is the place to do it. The service is prompt & polite. Our bartender Cody sported a great glittery tank top to match their pride beer on tap the "I Glitterly Can't Even!". Proceeds of your purchase said beer goes to the Camp Ten Trees charity. My personal favorite is the "Gateway Hazy Pale Ale" a hoppy beer for people who usually aren't into hoppy beers. Juicy, forward, yet delicious. Don't skip out on the local rotation of food trucks. I'm not a huge beer fan. I had the cider it was very good, sweet but did not taste like apple juice, it taste like hard cider should be. It's outdoors on a rooftop like the name says. They do not serve food which is unfortunate as we would have stayed longer. The place has a laid back, hanging out in someone's backyard vibe. read more

Small "funky" serving bar and establishment located at the bottom of hill in North Queen Ann district. Interesting location on busy Nickerson Street on way to the Interbay District. Inside there is a small serving bar with (3) tables. There are a few picnic tables in front of the joint (usually with a food truck parked) and larger room off to the right of the serving bar. A larger area outside overlooking some industrial buildings is facing North. Fun place to enjoy a craft beer and people watch. read more

Rooftop brewing is open again at a new location on West Nickerson St next to the Ballard Bridge in the Ballard/Interbay industrial area on the North side of Queen Anne. They have a real rooftop beer garden now and share a building with two coffee roasters so they have 4 coffee beers on tap opening weekend. Love this little place! I would take a star away for not having a consistent schedule for the food truck, and for being closed at 8 on Sundays, but I cannot do that to this great micro-brewery. Eat before you come, or hope the food truck is there (great tots!), or get pizza delivered, just so you can enjoy the ambiance and, of course, the beer. Every beer I have tried has always had unique flavors, and I like to taste different ones each time. My husband and his coworkers like to walk up there after work sometimes, and finding a place to sit is usually easy- as long as you're ok with being outside (there are about 5 spots to sit inside). The heaters make it comfortable, and the rooftop portion is now covered to shelter you from the Seattle rain. Also, service is always quick, and you can even order from the patio without having to go inside. All of this, combined with usually ample parking, has me going back often. read more

This place is just excellent. We tasted every pale, IPA, and ESB on the list today and liked them all....and really loved a few. It's a nice spot with lots of outdoor seating and partial views. They had the Seahawks game on (and we were stomping the 49ers), and there's a cool chalk/dartboard outside to entertain the kids. Did I mention that they are kid AND dog friendly? Oh, and we had service that was way above average today from a young woman who I think is named Cassandra. FYI, our favorite beer was the Amarillo Single Hop IPA, but there are lots of good options, so try a few. They don't serve food, but allow you to bring in carry out. We brought some burgers and fries from the nearby (and really good) Red Mill Burgers, which was right on our drive from a hike at Discovery Park to RoofTop. read more

Nice brewery! This side of the Ballard bridge needed a brewery. I liked their brewery space a lot. The brewery was small inside but they had a large outdoor space that is perfect on a nice day. I had the coffee blonde. At the first taste I thought it was more on the hoppy side, however it's just the coffee flavor coming through. This is one of our favorite breweries in Seattle. Cool vibe, awesome outdoor space. One half of the deck is covered, and can be opened on nice days but closed when it rains providing a dry space even in winter. There are plenty of heaters as well for those chilly days. A couple of friends decided to come here on a Sunday Funday to check it out. The name has us intrigued. We quickly came to find out that it's literally a rooftop, with a view of that rooftop and other rooftops. You also don't go up to a rooftop but rather just walk straight in from the parking lot.
