My gf surprised me for drinks here after dinner Saturday night and what a treat! The speakeasy is a converted micro hotel room located in SOVA on the third floor. The place is very small but cozy. Nice lighting and relaxing ambiance. The drinks were Japanese inspired and amazing! The bartender and his playlist were on point. After being there for an hour we were advised that there were others waiting to come upstairs and that we had to take our drinks down to the bar due to capacity. We would've wanted to stay there a bit longer but the place is extremely small so we understood. And since the hotel bar area had a cool vibe we didn't mind. The bartender downstairs was great and so were the drinks. I highly recommend Sova and Room 520.

Intimate bar setting, great for couples and small groups.

Fun drinks, cool vibe, new place finding its niche, and I support it! Went here for anniversary drinks before a show. Bartender is excellent.

Just amazing. You absolutely haveeee to go visit Lorenzo at 520! His immaculate drink making and the general ambiance of the spot made it a real night to remember. I saw the reviews that said the vibe was meh and I'm just going to say that a "vibe" is what you make it... The intention behind the drinks and the space told a story that was entertaining and worthwhile. Thank you soo much to Lorenzo for making our night. I hope he is there when you visit!

A WHOLE VIBE!! Perfect for grabbing a drink after/before dinner. There is no food, only a drink menu which consists of 4 drinks! THEY ARE ALL BOMB!! This is more so for a great experience; a place to unwind, sip on a cocktail, & hear some good tunes. Bartender/DJ was super sweet & attentive. You go to the front desk and ask for room 520, they give you a card with a code, & you have to find the room to unlock the hidden gem. Definitely worth a visit, we will be back!! ENJOY!!

Ok this was quite the surprise. Our friends made reservations and we checked at the front desk. They told us they had to go "check capacity" which we thought was interesting... until we went in. Haha We took the elevator to the 3rd floor and entered the code they gave us to room 520 and went in to discover this was literally a room the size of the *very* small hotel room that's been converted into a bar. To be fair, the bar tender was super kind and the cocktails were pretty good. They all had Japanese names, which was interesting but didn't seem to fit any theme. They also gave us free shots at one point just before we left! Much appreciated. Seating capacity seemed to be about 15 squeezing in. I would have taken more pics but it would have meant taking a picture of people who were sitting like 2 feet away from me. It was tight.

Such a fun idea with true speakeasy vibes! We made a reservation for early on a Friday. We did wait about 20 min after our reservation to be sent up. When we were sat we overheard the bartenders stressing because they didn't want to kick people out who had reached there time limit. Not a great system for shy bartenders and guests over staying their visit. We ordered our drinks and the bartender came back about 5 min later apologized for the wait and said they forgot about the order so first round was on the house. Hey it happens I appreciate the fix. Drinks were unique and very tasty! We each got two drinks and loved them all! Would definitely stop by again!

Exclusive and private speakeasy downtown. Be warned this place is small and dark, so it's like being in a black hotel room. But that can make the perfect vibe if you're looking for something private and chic. But it's open, and it's a neat experience. They're brand new (opened last week), and a better sound system and a more conscious music mix will make this spot even better! But, they're off to a great start. This would be the perfect spot for a date after dinner, as long as it's a good date cause this is just a room, once you're in, you're in! Tip: make a reservation on Open Table and at the lobby ask to check in to Room 520. You'll get a card with a code and the bar is on the 3rd floor. Look for the sign for Room 520 and use the keypad to enter.

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. Our tour was led by Jamie, who shared his extensive knowledge as he guided us through the Prohibition Era alongside our concierge, Landon. The speakeasy features stunning floors made of 120-year-old Italian wood, beautifully decorated with art, books, and a selection of premium entertainment and spirits. When we walked in, the hostesses greeted us and seated us at the table we had reserved in the Leopard Room. Initially, we were placed at a small half table along the wall. We asked if it was possible to move, and they happily accommodated us. That particular table felt a bit awkward for conversation since you can barely face the person across from you. It might work better for someone sitting alone and people watching rather than having a full conversation. Service throughout the night was great. The staff checked in regularly without being intrusive and made sure we always had what we needed. For drinks, I would say they were just okay. They were not bad, but they also were not particularly memorable. Given the speakeasy concept, I expected a bit more creativity in both flavor and presentation. We ordered the Melting Clock Elixir, Persistence of Berries, Cotton Candy Cloud, and the Surrealist 75. As the night went on, the space became much more crowded and louder once the DJ started playing. If you are hoping to have a relaxed conversation and catch up with friends, this might not be the best spot later in the evening. From what I saw, the Library Room seems to have a nicer atmosphere for that. The Leopard Room leans more toward a lounge or club-like environment as the night progresses.

It was absolutely beautiful, although I do think it could stand to be a little larger or limit the number of people allowed inside. There was a somewhat long wait just to get inside, and once we were in, the wait didn't really make sense. I'm used to having to wait at bars that have tables and servers, but Gingers had both while also being wall-to-wall people. Even though we ordered directly from the bar, we still waited nearly 20 minutes just to be able to place our order. The drinks themselves were really good and had great presentation. They were super pretty and definitely gave the aesthetic they were going for. That said, a lot of the experience did feel like paying to sit with the cool kids. I wish they would encourage people who were no longer drinking to give up their seats, especially when there were people still actively patronizing the bar who had nowhere to sit. There were multiple tables where people weren't even drinking, while everyone else was basically standing room only. I did appreciate that they have a dress code on the weekends and don't allow streetwear. Thankfully, I was dressed appropriately, but I did see them ask one young lady to remove her hat. Overall, I think I would go back, but probably on a weekday when it's hopefully less crowded. I'd like to experience the space when I'm not packed in with wall-to-wall people because I think Gingers has the potential to be a really nice experience when you can actually enjoy the atmosphere.
