5 Stars for sure!! Let me tell you the story.. I called them on Wednesday (5/7) to ask them if they had a bunk bed that I had been looking for, not only did they sell it but had it in their show room. So I head down to there to take a look at it with my two little rascals whom will call the bunk bed their own. Anyhow, saw it - I loved it/the kiddos loved it.. so we talked about pricing! Now I am shopper and by this time I have talked to 2 other furniture stores about the whole shabang - bunkbed, mattresses, delivery and all. This place beat those other 2 out of the water in everything and the best thing was they said they could deliver it the very next day! Thursday (5/8) rolls around and my family were all excited to get the new bunk bed in.. since our house is down the street from their showroom we were their last stop for the day. Better for us since it worked with our schedule, anyhow, they came started bringing the parts in and put it all together with the mattress and everything within less than an hour! Bam Bam - Done! All in all, from the initial phone call, showroom to delivery they were GREAT! Would I recommend them.. NO WAY!! then all the peeps I know will know my secret and have all the same furniture as me!! (Just Kidding) I have already recommended them to my sista who is looking for a whole new bedroom/dresser set so BAM! Thank me later! read more

The store front may deceive you since its small and hidden...but they do have a few selections in their showroom and a huge catalog to look over. They gave us an awesome deal on a couch set. The couch looked so gorgeous that we decided to come back and order the coffe table & end tables from them as well...and they gave us an outstanding deal with those too. He was patient enough to provide the quotes for every single furniture that was on the my shortlist and let me know in advance if it could potentially run out of stock! My family just purchased a sofa from Rooms Decor Gallery and I couldn't be happier. The showroom is a little small in comparison to a typical furniture outlet, but once you start exploring the options for each sofa, the level of customization is amazing. We were able to specify the firmness, material, color, size, etc. for our sofa, including different material for the cushions, frame, and pillows and piping on the cushions but not the pillows. The furniture was affordable, the delivery was free, and they also offered to haul away our old sofas for $40. Our sales person Dan was awesome - he was very knowledgeable and not pushy at all - he just explained the options and let us keep on trying different combinations until we were satisfied. I also loved that the sofa was made locally (San Jose) rather than overseas. We had a great experience and I would not hesitate to purchase furniture from Rooms Decor Gallery in the future. read more

We ended up buying two beds from Rooms Decor that were made by and shipped from VIG furniture: these guys -- http://www.yelp.com/biz/vig-furniture-los-angeles -- who have a 1-star review on Yelp, with reviewers asking if they can give a zero-star instead. One bed arrived without the necessary hardware to assemble it. Fine, we said. Will & Mike from Rooms Decor said they'd come by later and install it. The next time they came, two brackets were missing, so we couldn't actually put a mattress on this bed. It has been three weeks, and we still don't have a working bed. During the first delivery trip itself, I noticed that the footboards had the paper veneer peeling off. (I assumed from the pictures that this would be a wooden bed, but it's just a paper printed to look like wood that's stuck on whatever is underneath. Fine, my mistake.) I pointed this out to Mike, and he said they'd get VIG to replace the footboards. VIG started asking for photos after photos of what was a manufacturing defect. I sent them three sets of photos, and they still won't issue a replacement. We sent the actual footboards back two weeks ago, and have yet to hear from VIG. Will has been disappointed with VIG's customer service, and we are too. But it's not fair simply shifting the blame to a dealer they work with. As far as I am concerned, I am dealing with Rooms Decor, not VIG. I wish they had at least warned us about VIG, we'd have stayed away from them and instead picked a different brand. We came to Rooms Decor looking at their 5-star reviews, and did not realize that we were depending on VIG until after we made this purchase, hence I'm posting this review so others can learn from our unfortunate experience. Rooms Decor did deliver and install barstools for us in time, and in perfect condition, and have been fairly responsive so far, for which they get the three stars here. read more

I buy all of my furniture from Rooms Decor & have referred several of my friends and family here. They can order pretty much anything or customize furniture to your needs. It took me more than a month to pick out the furniture I want. Will was very helpful and pleasant to talk with. The price was good. I wasn't sure whether I should go with a regular box spring or a low profile one. They offered to bring both to my house to help me pick the one fits better! The delivery staff were nice, efficient and clean. They even helped me put felt sheet on the legs! The furniture look so nice, just like the pictures in the catalog if not nicer. Just as other reviews have stated, don't judge a book by it's cover. The showroom is small, but they have a wide selection of all types of furniture in their catalogs. The owner Will was nice enough to sit down with us and help us choose a dresser and vanity set to match our headboard. The shipment came in about a week. When we brought it home, the dresser did not match, but WIll gladly took it back and helped us reorder another dresser (which also came in within a week). Great value, good quality, and good service. I've searched all over the internet, went to check out local places and compared prices with tons of different stores that claim to be "discount furniture stores", and Rooms Decor offers the most competitive prices, hands down! The staff was amazing to work with and extremely patient. I walked into their showroom thinking I knew exactly what I wanted (after numerous back and forth emails with Will), but ended up changing my mind when I arrived and fell in love with another bed they had in the showroom. Unfortunately the bed did not come in black, which was my first color of choice. So, Will was kind enough to pull out a catalog and show me a few different beds that were similar, and I ended up finding a bed that was even better! And, it came in black! To top it off and to save me even more money, Will suggested I get the same furniture that I originally was going to purchase with the other bed, that ended up matching perfectly with the new bed that I chose. SCORE!! I ended up walking outta there feeling completely satisfied and just super stoked! Delivery took less than a week, and they set it up in no time. The dresser had a scratch on the side, so they packed it up and took it back, and delivered me a new one the following week. All in all, you can't beat customer service like this! This place ROCKS! I zeroed on this place after reading rave reviews by fellow yelpers and I couldn't agree more. This place deserves 5 stars! We bought a sofa, dining table, bed frame and mattress about a month ago and are very happy with our purchase. Will was very patient, helpful and honest. Also, they have have unbeatable prices and free delivery for nearby locations. Most of the other stores are selling similar furniture for atleast 200 - 300$ more. This rewiew is long overdue... Rooms Decor Gallery has the trifecta: AMAZING Service, AMAZING Prices and AMAZING Furniure!! I was skeptical when I first saw their posting on Craigslist, since the prices were so low I thought it was a scam . But it's no scam (we furnished an entire apartment, for how much other places charge for a couch or parts of a bedroom set). Bao, his employees and his furniture are fantastic. He and his staff were friendly and extremely willing to work with us when we wanted to make some changes on one of their furniture packages. He even went so far as to order the two couches to his store that we were deciding between because he didn't have them in stock, even though we would only be buying one. Purchasing furniture is a big investment in my opinion, and being the overly thorough individual that I am, I really did my research. The couch we got, everywhere else cost near $1000.00 or more. We got a 4 or 5 piece bedroom set (not sure if the mirror on top of the dresser is a separate piece), big modern comfy L sectional couch, and bar height 4 person table with 4 chairs (Bao let us change the table from the one in package at wholesale cost, so he made no money off the change, just charged us how much more it cost to switch it), ALL FOR UNDER $2000, which is including tax and delivery. Their delivery charges are very reasonable, they charged by the mile but it wasn't much at all (we had the delivery to SF). Bao himself and two of his guys delivered it and put it together. When we saw one of the table chairs was wobbly, he took it back and delievered a new chair the following week without a problem. We just purchased an entire bed set and vanity of my dreams and we are very happy with their service, selection, and quality. Mark was in contact with us throughout the process which we appreciated since its always easier to work with the same person. Like others have commented on here make sure you ask on how you can save by paying in green. So far everything is working great and quality of the furniture has been outstanding. We had a small knick on our nightstand, which I took photos of and emailed over and they immediately picked it up and swapped it out. We are still planning to return for a sectional soon and have already picked one out which can be custom made to our measurements and fabric type. I went to furniture stores all around the bay area looking for a bedroom set and large dining room table. After narrowing down the types/styles I wanted, I went to Rooms Decor Gallery. At first, I was surprised at how small the showroom was, but since I already pretty much knew what I wanted, it did not matter much. The customer service was excellent and not pushy AT ALL. The price I was quoted for the bedroom set and dining set were cheaper than anywhere else I had been, and I didn't even have to negotiate!! Even more impressive was the fact that everything I wanted was in stock and ready to ship to my house two days later on the peninsula. The quality of the furniture is excellent and the delivery went pretty smooth, although one piece of bedroom furniture was delivered damaged. The deliveryman pointed out the damage as soon as he noticed it and the piece was replaced a few days later. They took great care at not damaging my brand new hardwood floors. Overall, I had an OUTSTANDING experience here and recommend Rooms Decor Gallery to everyone I know. I'll definitely be going back when I'm ready to buy new furniture for my living room. Based on the size of the small warehouse, I would recommend that potential buyers already go to a few other furniture shops to get an idea of what they want, as nearly everything is ordered through catalog. read more

My friend took me here because he needed opinion on what to get for his bedroom set. As we were checking out the display, the staffs were very friendly and not pushy at all. They gave us our space to check out what we wanted...until we have questions. They also provided catalogs featuring hundreds of styles of every kind of furniture you need. After spending some time deciding on the color and style, my friend was ready to make a purchase. As I was roaming around the store, I realized a mattress would make a perfect gift for my mother's bday since hers was so old that i can literally feel the springs. After walking around again, I immediately fell in love with a pillowtop mattress that was at the center of the store. The mattress itself is rather firm, but the pillowtop definitely gives it soft comfort and support. Considering the low price.. I was sold on the mattress withouth hesitation. After the delivery time frame was selected.. I got a call the following week to confirm the delivery. I appreciated the fact that they were on time, even called when they were five minutes away. Picked up a bedroom set, 9 piece kitchen table set, custom sectional couch, island counter chairs. All for an excellent price. They had a huge catalog selection to chose from. It was a great experience. We were even told right away if we picked something of lower quality and to consider picking something else like getting the ball baring drawer slides. Everything we got was of great quality. Delivery was excellent, including the bedroom set which was delivered in the second floor in a difficult stair case with no issues. The was a bit of damage to the dresser when it was unboxed and they took it back right away before I even noticed anything. This is the ideal place to purchase furniture from. After purchasing our home, we were able to quickly furnish our home within months after moving with just a few trips to Rooms Decor. The staff, especially the owners, are really knowledgeable and helpful. Often, my husband and I would have an idea in our head, describe it to them and they would be able to point to something in their showroom or in one of their many many catalogs that was exactly what we had in mind. They were also able to adjust to our work schedules to time their deliveries. I also referred many friends and family to Rooms Decor and will continue to do so. They were able to deliver to my relatives who live in Tracy. I highly recommend it for people who want to furnish certain rooms in their homes, but aren't sure what style to go with. This store is small in physical size but what they lack in size they make up in fabric selection and customization. Furniture is custom made. I got to select the width and firmness of the cushions too. Only took 3 weeks to get. Because I live locally, it was free delivery. Very friendly staff who are focused on customer satisfaction. We ordered a custom sofa with them. The price was good relative to other places, and it was nice to be able to customize the options. We wound up with something we really like. They delivered when they said they would (for free), and were friendly and flexible throughout the process. We had a minor issue with an unsightly wrinkle on the back of the sofa when it arrived. Honestly we could have lived with it. But, they were very accommodating about taking it back and fixing it. I very much appreciated their "customer first" attitude. One note on their sofa beds - they only had two options for the mattress (foam and springs), and I didn't find either of them to be very comfortable. I'd recommend double checking on the mattress comfort before ordering a sofa bed option. In the end, they gave me a credit to take their mattress back, and I went with a slightly more expensive mattress option that I purchased online. Again, they were great to work with on this, but it would've been nice if they'd had a higher quality memory foam mattress option for the sofa bed. I would definitely go to them first when making future furniture purchases, especially custom sofas. read more

i furnished my WHOLE house from this place! i was able to furnish my kitchen with a dining table and chairs, my living room with two comfortable couches, and my master bedroom with a cal-king bed with matching dresser, two side tables, and another smaller dresser with mirror! all for approx $3500 price range!!!! what i really like about this place is how you can CUSTOMIZE it all. i picked the style i wanted for the couch, the color, and the material.... i even got two couch pillows to match! and i picked their color too! i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this furniture store to all my friends!!!! read more

It's actually 4.5 stars. (will explain why at the end.) I found this place on Yelp and it's fabulous. We were looking for a couch and went to the big furniture places, then checked Yelp and saw the lousy reviews (e.g., Ashley). So, based on Yelp reviews, we got our GPS and found this little place tucked away in Union City. The showroom is tiny, but we met Will and he explained that they can do custom furniture for the same price as ready made furniture. It was excellent. He was exceedingly knowledgable, we described what we wanted and he knew exactly where in the numerous catalogues there were similar sofas. He was extremely patient when we took about 20 mins deciding on color (went with chocolate brown) and even suggested throw pillows with different colors on each side. We paid about $700 for sofa plus ottoman custom built in San Jose, delivered in 2 weeks for I think $10 delivery! Why only 4.5 stars? The sofa was delivered with the wrong color ottoman, there was some confusion at the warehouse, and actually the delivery guy noticed it first and took it away. Will was great and hand delivered the correct one the next day. He could not have been nicer about it. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommended. Will go there again. read more

This place is great! They have a wide assortment of furniture and at a great price. I was looking for a tufted headboard and ended up buying a tufted bed because the price was so good. I'd say the only issue I had was the time I had to wait for the bed. Keep in mind, I had been warned that the bed was not currently in stock and that I would have to wait for it. Still, I went ahead and purchased it. I purchased it in mid May and was told to call back in at the end of June. I called back at the end of June and the bed was still not in stock. They told me to call back mid July, so I did and it was still not there. Eventually by the beginning of August it was available, so that was when I got it. The delivery time was set and it arrived as planned, on time. Fast forward half a year and I had a small issue with the bed. I called them and told them the problem, later that day they came to my house and fixed the problem. Now that's what I call service! I even tried to give the guys a tip for helping me out, but they wouldn't take it. I'm sure ill be back when I have more furniture to buy. Thanks Danny! read more

Came in here ONLY based on the reviews of my fellow yelpers, and have had this placed bookmarked forever waiting to get a new house. Finally, we got one and I knew just the place I wanted to check out first. I walked in, and it must have been fate because within a minute, sitting on the showroom floor was the matching set for my partial bedroom furniture. I had originally bought a dresser and (1) nightstand from a place that is now closed in San Ramon almost 10 years ago. When I saw it, I spoke to Marc, who explained that it was the closest thing I would find (I don't want to say it's a "knock off", but kind of...hardware is different, slightly smaller) to complete my set. My fiancé' and I ordered the missing pieces to complete our bedroom set, plus ended up getting a dining room table set out of a catalogue. If I had gone into any other furniture store and they had told me to look through the catalogue and pick out what you want to order, I would have turned around and walked out. But because I trusted Marc and the good reviews, I knew everything would turn out ok. **Hint: so if you don't see what you are looking for, just ask them!** We just got our delivery yesterday, and it all looks fantastic! This place is truly the best bargain around! I will have to stop myself from bragging from anyone who comes over about how little we paid for such high quality furniture. If I didn't rent an Uhaul van here, I wouldn't have known this place existed. I have to say, first time there picking up the van and seeing all the furniture catalogs on the table overwhelms me. I actually said to myself, "How can I find anything I want, if I need anything?" For those of you that don't like stories, here are my experiences with this place: Customer service - 5 stars Furniture quality - delivered fully assembled and exactly like those in the catalog. They even customize furniture. Solid feel so should hold up shapes well for long term use. Knowledge - 5 stars Entertainment - I had a fun time choosing my things here because Marc made it enjoyable. I think him and my hubby can be good friends. Price - extremely reasonable. For those of you that likes to read stories, here's mine. Due to some idiot's negligence, I ended up needing furniture because of a flood at home. I visited several places and most of them are way over my budget. So, I ended up looking through Amazon for a whole week! Now, if you ever purchased big items from Amazon, you know they don't come fully assembled. So, hubby suggested we come here. My experience here was great! Wasn't as stressed as I thought it would be because every time I said I need one thing, Marc picks up a catalog and flipped to the starting page of the things I'm looking for and gave me great advice! Rooms Decor were very helpful in meeting our needs. My wife and I just moved into our first home and we were wanting to furnish a few things. We looked at furniture stores such as Crate and Barrel, but found them to be a bit pricey. We also wanted to avoid Ikea, because of we had some furniture already from there and the quality was not so great. With Rooms Decor, we showed them the furniture we liked from other stores and they were quickly able to find something comparable at a really great price. I was a bit skeptical about the quality of the bedroom set we ordered since I was not able to touch it in person and given the price. However, everything turned out great! We've already made several purchases through Rooms Decor - 4 piece Bedroom set - 2 sofas + a chair - 1 coffee table - 1 Media Stand - 1 Dining Table and we're are definitely planning to go back to purchase more once we have the funds. =) read more

I am a research freak and the type to explore all my options before committing to buying something. We visited major dept stores and many independent furniture dealers until I stumbled upon Rooms Décor on Yelp. Sharing a similar experience, I must concur with the other reviewers in that Will and his team are true professionals and exhibit excellent customer service. The establishment itself is quite small so there isn't a whole lot to see in person, but Will possesses an in-depth understanding of the business and the products. For example, he questioned some of my measurements for a sectional I was interested in and I came to realize they were completely wrong. He is flexible in meeting the customer's needs and extremely patient. I needed a sectional that was a few inches longer than the production model but he was able to customize it. The one thing I did notice was that the cushion didn't come as one whole piece, rather it was probably the original size with two smaller foam pieces to make up the difference. It has been about over a year now and is sagging a little in that area, but it doesn't bother us very much. We also bought a dining table which we all thought had a built in storage cubby in the center. When it was delivered, we noticed it was actually just a hollow space without the bottom piece. Will immediately offered to build one and promptly installed it within a few days. Both of these products are in great shape and we will be returning to Rooms Décor to look for a bedroom set. read more
