Fabulous food and service for lunch for 6 during the Model A week last week for table of 6! Server was on top of everything. Food was fast and wonderful! Drink refills kept coming. Everything tasted great and looked great. Had quiet area not near others. Everything was clean and calming. Our server gal remembered dads requests from previous visit. Prices were great. Happy and will return!!

Filling, delicious food, and a fun experience. We were visiting from out of town. Family friendly and they have paper and crayons at your table for drawing! Nostalgic to when I was a kid! I participated and drew the picture of the Boozy Peach Mimosa they were advertising. Their dining area is fairly large. We had a group of 6 and were able to get a table. I ordered the boozy peach mimosa and it came in a Gibraltar goblet style glass with a thick sweet peach juice. While it was not physically bubbly, it was not lacking the bubbly!! For food I got the steak and eggs. Came as over easy and medium cooked to my liking, the bread with thick and fluffy! The staff was helpful with all of our questions and accommodating to our dietary restrictions. We greatly appreciated that! We will for sure be back when in town!

I should have taken a picture of our first full plate. We were passing through Pendleton on a road trip and were needing some breakfast. We stopped in to The Rooster and they offered us the Round Up Buffet or a menu. We figured we would try the buffet. It was great food! My husband and I love the French Toast Casserole. The homemade doughnuts were AMAZING. And the tatter tot casserole was delicious. We feel like we NEED to come back soon. The staff were also very kind and quick with their service. 10/10 recommend!

Delicious breakfast options! Very nice staff, restaurant is roomy but wait time for food was a little longer and they let us know that. Definitely try the jalapeño bacon omg so yum! Worth the money, worth the stop, worth the slight wait.

    Under cooked chicken.

I ordered the fried chicken but what I got tasted like it was boiled and upon closer inspection seemed undercooked. I only took one bite of it before pushing it away. There was no question that I was unhappy with it, as I patiently waited for my server to swing by so we could get it fixed. And I waited, and waited. She walked by my table several times without stopping and ignored me when I tried to signal her. Normally I'm a pretty patient guy but at this point I was getting heated so I decided to forget resolving it. I got up to head for the cashier to ask for a manager since she never swung by and that's when she suddenly came running saying she could take my payment like I was going to do a dine and dash. She never asked me how my food was, or mentioned that I didn't eat it. She just held out her hand for my credit card. So uncooked food and poor service. Not a winning combination.

Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs. Hot, good coffee. Good service. Perfect meal to have on the way to 10 days in the Blue Mountains elk hunting.

The bar is long, with pictures of all the Pendleton Round-Up lining one wall. The place is a fascinating time capsule. Way in the back, beyond the bar and the pool table, a very small dining room with counter service and several humble booths are tucked away next to the kitchen. It's old, and proud of it. I've only eaten there twice; I once had a great breakfast there many years ago with my son. The portions were generous, the service was excellent, and as American style breakfasts go, it was about as good as they get. It's not "inspired food." It's the standard stuff, and there's something comforting about that. It's Americana at it's best. The second time was my birthday, and again, I was there with my son. It was evening. When we got there, we were the only ones occupying the cafe. It looked exactly as it had 20-plus years ago. My son ordered a hamburger and fries. Again, no trendy toppings or fuss, just very fresh, very well prepared hearty fare...exactly what we were looking for. I had their "famous" fried chicken. it was without hesitation, some of the best I'd ever tasted. It came with jo-jos, a salad, and garlic bread. It was all excellent, and almost too much food. If you enjoy old school dining in a small town cafe, it's going to be hard to beat the Rainbow Cafe and Bar.

The whole place is well decorated, pretty cozy, and definitely got a vibe to it of a local place. Service: everyone was fine and friendly, we were friendly to them as we could tell on the Sunday night it was just the two folks and they were doing their best. Drinks and food: the drinks were strong but good, the food was excellent. We got the chicken and it's definitely enough to split with someone, and the French dip which my husband said was meh. The potato jojos were huge but tasty. Over all very well worth the visit! A nice historic place and experience.
