My daughter Jadyn has a chronic bone disease that is level 9 pain when she has flare-ups. She is prescribed Ibuprofen every six hours EVERY DAY of her life. In the ER on Jan 10th, they gave her 300mg of Ibuprofen on an empty stomach. Her bone pain went away, but the next day she woke up with terrible stomach pain. The following day she vomited for 3 hours straight! I called her rheumatologist who suggested stopping the Ibuprofen for a couple of days to give her stomach a break. (With no pain medication to replace it). Long story short we ended up back in ER on Jan 15th after 3 desperate calls to her rheum went unanswered and my girl was in excruciating stomach and bone pain. Out of desperation really, I made an appointment for Jadyn to visit Root. The doctor suggested something called "Moxa" (modified moxibustion) I was soooooo skeptical. But my girl was in level 9 pain and I said okay. He had her lay on her back and he put heated stones and an herb called "Mugwort" on her belly and her chest. Jadyn walked out of the clinic 45 minutes later with ZERO pain!!! I don't even know how to explain that. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't witness it myself. That night, at bedtime instead of us crying and praying together for relief, Jadyn went to sleep 100% PAIN-FREE. The next morning, I dreaded waking her because she was sleeping so peacefully and I am used to her first words being "Mommy, I'm hurting..." When I heard that Dr. Kim opened his new clinic, I was really glad to hear that, because I have seen him other clinic and had few treatments from him last year. I stumbled and sprained my ankle last year really bad, and he just cured me right away with hand acupunctures (this was really interested!). It was pretty amazing experience and I will make an appointment again for his MOXA (heat therapy? ask Dr. Kim about it. This is really good for everybody!!) for my menstrual pain later soon. I was recommended here after more than 15 years of back pain due to scoliosis and thyroid disease. Being afraid of needles, I never considered accupuncture before. But at this point I was willing to try anything. I went in with no expectations but after the first session, I immediately felt a huge improvement in regards to my pain. I stopped going to physical therapy at Kaiser and began to solely come here for treatment. I came to Root Acupuncture with acute sciatica. Dr K is very professional and with a combination of heat acupuncture and stretches, the spasms stopped and within two weeks the numbness in my leg was gone. I had tried chiropractic and western medicine with no relief. I was so amazed that each appointment relaxed the pinched nerve. I am not sure how little needles that I can hardly feel in my hands and arms stop hip and leg spasm and pain but I do know that Dr K and his wife run a wonderful business that is helping me and others live better lives. I can play golf again. My back would stiffen with chronic pinch pain whenever I lifted anything heavy or engage in a golf swing. If you want to find the honest, attentive, accurate-diagnosis, and yet real care for the patients, Dr.Kim is the one you are looking for. I injured my right wrist during last ski season. This had bothered me a quiet bit for months especially, my job would require to work in front of computer all day long. When I first met with Dr.Kim, he explained to me thoroughly which muscle get aggravated and what type of treatment he would use. This clinic is the most attentive clinic I have ever been! I have chronic lower back pain and neck pain for over years. I have visited chiropractic, doctor's office, and even to many other acupuncture clinics to get ease with the back pain. However all of my desperate tries to alleviate the pain failed. I already put up a review almost a year ago, but decided to put up another one, as I went in again last week for a twisted ankle from getting caught in a small hole while playing football. I was in severe pain, where I could not put any pressure on my right foot, made it difficult to walk or get out of bed. During my college years, I would just put a brace on it and let it heal naturally on its own, which would usually take around a month for me to be comfortable enough to play basketball or football. This time, I once again decided to go to Dr. Kim and receive another treatment, as it went so well last time. Once again, I was not disappointed as I was able to play basketball just fine today, without any pain.
