Rooter Hero attempted to use their "Hydro Jet" on a clogged toilet in our upstairs neighbor's downstairs bathroom. It did absolutely NOTHING to unclog the toilet, but all that water did flood the bathroom, which resulted in a massive, extremely destructive amount of water seeping through the neighbor's floor and raining through my family's dining room and kitchen ceiling. Rooter Hero then called the restoration company "Restorerz" completely unauthorized, sending them to my family's door at 9:30pm, which was a security concern and completely unacceptable. After reading through the reviews on both these companies, it seems as though they are running a scam together. Rooter Hero noting or frankly -- causing "water damage" and sending Restorerz to remediate the issue. When we finally got the upstairs neighbor to open the door, I spoke to the two Rooter Hero plumbers telling them that they caused a huge amount of damage in our unit, and that failing to respond when we were screaming and pounding on the door to turn the water off was a lawsuit waiting to happen. They convinced my husband to let them survey the water damage in our home and confirmed the extent. When I asked the Rooter Hero plumbers, aka "the experts," what kind of water it was, they proceeded to tell me that it was "totally clean water," and we had "nothing to worry about." However, the restoration team (they sent) Restorerz, said it was "category 3 water," or "black water", which is drainage water, and toxic, and that the Rooter Hero plumbers "had no idea what they were talking about." Restorerz claimed the entire dining room and kitchen would need to be ripped out and remediated in their entirety, manipulating our landlord into doing exactly that, and forcing our family out of house and home for 2.5 months. Takeaway: stay as far away from Rooter Hero and Restorerz as possible. 1.) Rooter Hero did not fix the clogged toilet, but caused an enormous, EXPENSIVE amount of damage with their Hydro Jet, and 2.) sent their buddies Restorerz to our home unauthorized, who turned out to be complete frauds. Our sewer line was backing up, and no amount of rooter-ing was helping. We called Rooter Hero on the recommendation of a neighbor. Best advice ever! Our technician, Jeffrey, was great. Very personable and friendly. If he was a doctor, you'd say his bedside manner was awesome. He ran a camera down our line, and that confirmed our fears-total blockage from roots, and several breaks in the clay pipe. He let us know what our options were, never once being a pushy salesman. In the end, we decided to go with a main line replacement. As it was getting close to quitting time, we thought Jeffrey would come back in the morning to start the job. To our surprise, he pulled a shovel from his truck, and started digging. He said that he understood what a hassle being without a working sewer line is. He wanted to get started ASAP, so he could get us back up and running. Over the course of the job, I had to be at work, so I asked Jeffrey to keep me up on the progress. I thought I'd get a text or two. Nope. Jeffrey went above and beyond, sending me lots of photos and several videos as well. In the end we were out of business for a few days. I'm sure it would've been longer, if not for the efforts of Jeffrey and the crew from Rooter Hero. I wouldn't hesitate to call them back for my next big plumbing adventure. ** UNFORTUNATE UPDATE: could not be MORE pissed by Rooter Hero and their incompetence. NOT the plumbers: but the home office. We called RH because unfortunately the visit in Nov did not resolve the issue so they were happy to come out and fix it. We scheduled them to come by 10a w the understanding nobody could be here at 11am as one of my babies as to sleep in the bedroom that the bathroom is in. Welp-they showed up after being told MULTIPLE times 12-2 wasn't an option at 12:45p. My baby was asleep. They said they'd come back. Eventually we were told they'd come between 5 and 5:30p. Not convenient w a 6:30p bedtime but whatever. At 5:30 they called and said they'd be coming after 6:30p. Hard no. We called them and explained that's unacceptable and not an option. Rescheduled for today between 9-11am. At 6:45p last night our doorbell was rung. They NEVER told their plumber not to come. This poor dude prob sat in traffic to get to us only to be told he wasn't supposed to come. Well it's 10:54am and NOBODY is here nor have they contacted us and when I called I was told dispatch would let me know. This is BEYOND inconsiderate!!!! We have been literally trapped at home waiting for them to come fix this issue. I'll be notifying ALL my mom's groups about this as well. -- read more

I contacted Rooter Hero after seeing one of their coupons to help with a backed-up drain at my parents' house. The technician, Edward, showed up and made an effort -- I'll give him that -- but the experience quickly turned negative. When my mom asked a simple question out of genuine curiosity, Edward seemed irritated and dismissive, treating her like she was a nuisance rather than a customer. But what really compelled me to leave this one star review was what happened next. When snaking the drain didn't work, Edward called a colleague for advice. Thinking I couldn't hear him, he asked, "Do you see the name on the file?" (Mohammad) and followed that with, "You know, you know..." The implication was crystal clear he was making a biased, inappropriate comment based on our family's name and background. It was shocking, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Imagine if someone had made a similar comment about him based on his race it would be absolutely unacceptable, and this is no different. It's disturbing that Rooter Hero employs people who carry and express this kind of prejudice. We expected professional service. Instead, we were made to feel stereotyped and unwelcome in our own home. Rooter Hero needs to do better and hold their employees accountable. read more

Absolutely the BEST! Knowledgeable, professional, and really good hearted people. I never imagined a plumber or any home service provider would be so wonderful. I called one plumber before Rooter Hero and the other plumber misdiagnosed the problem, the next plumber gave me a five figure quote to replace my whole system, but then Rooter Hero came to the rescue! Travis and Tony came and quickly identified the problem with my plumbing, explained it to me in clear terms, gave me very reasonable pricing, and fixed the issue. They also educated me on the mysteries of the plumbing in my house. On top of being fantastic plumbers, on the next visit, Travis came with gifts for my son - a kid's shovel and a Rooter Hero hat. My 5-year-old was over the moon as he "helped" Travis and Tony with their work and now loves plumbers so much that he wants to be one himself when he grows up. I called Rooter Hero because a neighbor recommended them. We had a clog in our main line and the toilet would overflow when you ran the washing machine or took a shower. The technician came out and I showed him where the main clean-out was. I showed him the bathroom and told him that the toilet overflowed and there was 2 inches of water on the floor when my 12 year old took a shower. He guaranteed me that the shower couldn't cause the toilet to overflow. Then he said that he could not snake the drain from the main clean-out. He had to remove the toilet and snake it from there. He told me it would be $77 to snake the drain (reasonable) and $342 (Whaaattttt?!?!?!) to remove the toilet and put it back. Needless to say we sent him on his way. We had another plumber come out the next day and he fixed it from the main clean-out for $75. This seemed like some major up sell from Rooter Hero. No thank you. We very recently had our entire drain/sewer system replaced under our house by Rooter Hero and are very happy with the experience. We also had additional work done to include hydro jetting very large tree roots out near the street and had the inside of this section of the drain pipe coated with resin so roots can no longer get into the pipe. We're particularly happy with the workers Javier and Domingo and extremely happy with Ellis Enyard (supervisor) and Anthony Flowers (foreman) who worked with us everyday to keep us informed of the progress and technical details. The gentlemen made a difficult job easier for us and we're appreciative of that. Very soon we're needing to replace our 66 year old water pipes as our next project and are certainly considering have these same folks do that job as well. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! They are incompetent theives. Called them out to open a drain line at a building because of a sewer back up. They allegedly tried jetting the line three times, but did not actually unclogged anything. Then, after allegedly running a camera, they told us that the line was broken and needed to be replaced or sleeved at a cost of about $25K. Thank goodness I did not beleive them. Called in another company who quickly snaked the line and completely opened it. They ran their own camera and told us that the line was fine and no more work was necessary. Rooter Hero is a complete scam. They did not do the work necessary and then lied to us about the problem during an emergency situation and tried to sell us on tens of thousands of dollars of unnecessary work. We had a complete plumbing backup, we called rooter hero, they came out and tried to locate the problem , Albert Flores found a lot of roots so Chris came out and ran a camera from roof and ground levels to check out all lines and problem was clay pipes have a seam every 4 feet and clay can shift and open up enough where roots can get in, also drain pipe from kitchen was rusted and in poor condition, all was replaced using the pipe burst method otherwise they would have had to open up whole driveway, the process was amazing and Albert did a great job, both explained every step of the process to both me and my wife, we got a great warranty and all new ABS piping all way to sidewalk, cleanup was complete and service was second to none. My main line backed up into my house this morning. Rather than wait until Monday morning for service from my home warranty, I decided to look online for a local company and found Rooter Hero Plumbing. Jaime came out less than 2 hours after my call. He was able to diagnose the problem and return within an hour with their specialized equipment to fix it. I usually do not look for contractors that I do not know, but I saw the positive comments about them from other satisfied customers and decided to take a chance. Jaime was extremely professional and helped me to avert what could have been a much worse problem. And they come out on Sundays at no additional charge. These guys did a great job replacing ALL of the waste pipes under my house. The pipes were 62 years old and in poor condition. Rodney and Gilbert went above and beyond getting everything in, making sure it was all up to code, and coordinating everything with the city inspector. Rodney went above and beyond making sure that I was happy with the one part of the job that was for the water supply (had him redo the washer supply lines and install separate shut-off valves for the hot and cold lines, since the old shut off no longer worked). They took the time to answer all my questions and were great about pointing out little things that could be improved at no cost (hose bibs, drain clean-outs, etc.). March 21, 2016: Job Completed I randomly selected Rooter Hero from a goggle search of plumbers near Sherman Oaks. My kitchen sink was blocked on both sides and accordingly, the dishwasher wasn't working. Rooter Hero was efficient and sent out a technician within two hours. The plumbing technician, Jaime Rodriquez, was very professional and competent. He looked over the area, explained the issue to me and asked for written permission to begin the job. We just completed a major plumbing project at our home in Thousand Oaks. When the sewage backup occurred on Saturday morning (the day before Easter) I had to call five companies before one answered. Rooter Hero (805-394-4985) had a technician at our doorstep within an hour. Matthew Kleemeyer and his supervisor Mike worked hard all day to clear the problem, but had to come back on Easter and spent all of the holiday day on the project.
