First time using RooterHero and I was very impressed. Edgar the plumber was professional and very informative.

Called Rooter Hero late afternoon Dec 12th for a clogged kitchen sink. Immediately after hanging up, we received a text stating that our incident report was queued & that dispatch would be contacting us with an ETA. Minutes later, dispatch called & gave us a 30-45 minute arrival time. Approximately 30 minutes later, Oscar Abrego arrived. Oscar was professional and courteous. He quoted a price of $77 dollars with a 90 day warranty, which we agreed to. Within about 30 minutes the drain was snaked & un-clogged. We will definitely refer Rooter Hero to freiends/family/neighbors etc. and will continue to use them as needed. read more

I called Rooter Hero Plumbing after hearing a commercial on KFI 640 AM radio. The plumber came on time and I told him my washing machine drain was clogged. He started by telling me what he was going to do, then proceeded to do what he said he would do and finally told me the results of what he found and how he had fixed the problem. It took less than one hour and that included testing the hoses and washers and moving the washing machine back to its original place. All that for $77. His name was Merrill and his boss was Edik. Merrill appeared very experienced and was courteous and professional. I highly recommend this company and would use them again without hesitation. I live in West Hills, CA read more

Called these guys at 10:30pm and they called me back within an hour and scheduled the service call for 9-11 am next day. They called next morning at 9:15am saying they would be there in an hour and they did exactly that. Two guys Chris and Lewis did an excellent job (no upselling- no rushing) and cleaned up afterwards. Emailed me an invoice at the end. Very good experience. Would use them again if needed. read more

My plumbing started backing up late on a Saturday night and I called Rooter Hero on Sunday morning. They sent a text letting me know that I would hear from dispatch when my plumber was en route. They called about 15 minutes later to tell me that Albert would be here in 45-60 minutes. Albert quickly assessed the situation and rooted the main sewer line. The process took about 15 minutes and he cleaned everything up when he was done. I was able to use a $77 dollar coupon on a Sunday! I wish I could put 0 stars. I hate writing reviews but some companies deserve them and Rooter hero is one of them. This company's service is horrible. I read some positive reviews but I'm not sure why they treated me the way they treated me. A technician came out reviewed the work to be done and wrote up an estimate. I was able to free my schedule for a couple weeks later so I called them to accept the work and they scheduled me with an appointment and send a confirmation text. The day of my appointment I never received a call from them so I called them around 1PM the day of, I wasn't going to wait around all day, and they connected me to the technician. He didn't even know the work that was to be done. He proceeds to tell me that the estimate is low. I accepted the higher price because I understand they're short staffed and price of goods has gone up. I even accepted an appointment for another day because he mentioned that he can't make it today. I confirmed with multiple people after I made the appointment to confirm that I'm scheduled for that coming day. They all confirmed. Today, the day of my appointment, I received a call from the dispatcher who just has the word attitude, and told me the new price and asked when I'm available when I have a confirmed scheduled appointment. She rudely told me the technician can't make it today. I asked for another technician and she told me that the other technician has to do the job. They didn't even try to make it right. Horrible customer service didn't show up to 2 different appointments and they didn't even call. I had to call both times to get confirmation as to what's going on, they made me wait as if I have nothing else to do. Horrible, horrible, tread carefully with them especially if you have urgent work to be done ... worst customer service I've ever experienced. read more

Wow! I am so impressed! I'm in Thousand Oaks, It's Sunday and we had sewage coming up in our tub and toilets. Called around and everyone was too busy unless we wanted to pay hundreds extra for an emergency after hours!!! Rooter Hero gave me their coupon price of $77 Drain Special. They sent us Albert. It was around 6pm when he arrived. Boy, we will ALWAYS ask for him if ever we need help again. I'm completely appalled with this company. I called about a plug in the restroom on the main floor. They sent a technician to provide a free consultation with free camera inspection within an hour. Amazing right? Then why the one star? The technician called his supervisor only to say that the line is clear, even from the restroom to the main line, and the toilet is the issue, and we have to remove the toilet ourselves and install a new one. Needless to say, they didn't resolve the problem and still demanded payment. Disgusting that they do this. read more

Called Rooter Hero on Friday afternoon about a minor problem - a slow draining bathtub. I was pleased when they said they could send someone out that afternoon. Sean arrived a few hours later to snake the main line. No luck. To keep this short - Sean worked Fri till 11pm then Sat a full day ,then again on Sun another 6 hours. There were many obstacles and challenges one after another on this 80yr old house. It would have been very easy to let frustration or anger come out. If he was feeling it , it never showed. I appreciated his determination on trying to get to the bottom of the issue , his thoroughness and his professionalism during a very difficult and hot weekend. Word cannot describe how absolutely completely satisfied I am with this company. A++++++ 10 Stars. Before I write a brief review I have to mention names. The project foreman, Tony, is a wonderful human being and takes so much pride in the work he does. Mike the area manager was genuine, honest and patient-no pressure sales. The crew did and amazing job, which included Julio, David and his brother and others which I unfortunately don't have their names. This group of men did an amazing job to fix my moms major plumbing issue which took over a week because it involved several breaks in her water waste lines underneath the foundation. They went above and beyond the call of duty and actually became more like friends than a work crew. In one instance the foreman, Tony, was concerned about my mom because she would regularly greet the crew and check on the work in the morning. When she failed to come out one morning Tony contacted me because he was concerned that he hadn't seen her. As the project progressed Tony would send me daily pictures and video of the progress. When I came to personally check on the progress Tony would walk me through every step of what was being done. In fact, all of the crew would patiently explain exactly what they were doing and why. They all made every effort to make this project as minimally inconvenient as possible for my mom. They not only took care of the plumbing, but also took care of the property and most importantly took care of her. When they ran into a snag in the original plan, they had to reroute all the waste lines. This was done without any hesitation and without any increase in cost. They didn't try to do a an upsell or a patch job and did everything right and with complete honesty. The owner of this company should be proud of the crew who fixed my moms job. They all deserve a raise. They were all truly good people who did an amazing job. Thank you Tony, Mike, Julio, David and the rest of the crew for the work you did but more importantly for the way you cared about my mom during a stressful time in her life. I can only imagine how a project of this magnitude would have been handled by a less than honest company looking to make a buck off a senior citizen. Not pleased still thinking about my experience a few years ago...when I had a clogged toilet and no one stuck a snake any longer than the one I had to unclog it, and instead, the guy stuck his head under the house and determined my pipe under the toilet was sagging and needed replacing! The plumber called his "boss", a guy named Mandel, who quoted me $11000 to replace the pipe THAT WEEKEND or $14000 if I wanted it done some other time! I was in a daze just thinking about that kind of money, so I told him I was unsure this minute and I'd call in a few days. Well.....later that night, I furiously plunged my toilet for another 10 minutes or so and VOILA, for 3 years now the toilet has worked just fine. I'll never forget how I almost spent a fortune with this company and certainly will not use Rooter Hero ever again! read more

Called Rooter Hero for a main sewer line clog. I own a property management company and usually use LA Hydrojet, but they were super busy and couldn't make it quickly. Rooter Hero was prompt, about 45 minutes. Tech tried for about 5 minutes to snake the clog. Said he couldn't get and that I needed a $1350 camera inspection. This is not my first rodeo. I know how much camera inspections cost and I've never paid more that $350. We parted company. LA Hydrojet came out. Had the line cleared in about 10 minutes. $159. Rooter Hero is trying to scam people. Don't believe the hard luck story of the owner you here on the commercials. They obviously just want to take advantage of people. Only problem is I know this business better than them. You've been warned. read more

Got a call they were running late and would call before they came. I got a call at 8:30 p.m. that their computer crashed and they promised they would come between 11 and 1 the next day. I called at 2, they returned my call at 3 with some b.s. that they are running on a skeleton crew. and can't come until tomorrow. That's no way to do business. The company cancelled on me twice with very lame excuses such as "my supervisor had a family emergency" and "my supervisor had an emergency". On the third time, the supervisor did come out. However it was the biggest waste of my time. He wanted to charge me $4000 dollars, yes you read it right, 4000 dollars to install a water softerner unit that I already purchased from online. I had a problem with my toilet continually running and three different plumbers told me to get a new toilet. They couldn't figure it out. When I called Rooter Hero this was number four (4). I told the technician what I thought was the problem and in 2 seconds he told me I was wrong. It was a faulty gasket and it was fixed in five minutes. I was amazed. Not only was the gasket replaced but the flush mechanism was replaced fixing a problem I had had since putting this new unit in 2 years ago. Requested to snake my back clean out (on a Thursday eve). Jaime came out that same date of being called but wasn't successful. He mentioned that my pipes were old and preventing the water to drain correctly. Jaime returned the next day with Jeffery to assess and stated that if they change out some of the old pipes then my issue would be cleared... I bite. So my initial snake service for $77 went to $2700 with some additional work. They started work that same day. I told them I had a meeting that evening in my home and would need my water back before then... Jeffrey assured me they would be out by 5pm and return Saturday morning to complete. Well that didn't happen... they were here until 9pm and I had to have them turn on part of my water as my meeting started. They left and again was to return Saturday morning. Well to my dismay 8 am, 9am , and 10 am rolled around until I called Jaime who said 'oh Jeff's right here' and to have Jeff tell me he forgot to call me as they had a plumbing emergency. Soooo in my mind you're the only crew working and seriously no courtesy call. Jeff apologized and said they would be right out after the emergency....sooooo taking up most of my Saturday they arrive around 1pm to complete the work....well guess what ...my issue still wasn't fixed....to which Jeff goes out to the truck with Jaime and have conversation and he returns with 5 options for me to select...the bandaid for an additional $1300, a $9k option, an $11k option, a $19k option and the grandmother of them all a $28k option. I was a little taken aback by the fact that Jeffrey thought I would make a decision for the larger priced packages right then and there.... and trying to sell me on getting financing. I originally was going to get the $1300 jet cleanest but guess what...they forgot to come back that same evening for that service so I cancelled the next morning. Our problem started when the toilets kept backing up despite continuous plunging, and a couple times we had what looked like waste water back up into our showers (not good). I considered Rooter Hero, as that constant commercial jingle kept echoing in my head, but I called another plumber we used a while back and really liked. So imagine my surprise when I realized I was calling none other than Rooter Hero! Turns out they bought out the other company. I didn't have to worry because before long I could tell we were in good hands. Joshua showed up and he couldn't have been more pleasant, professional, and dedicated. He worked really hard at solving our problem because it was turning out to be more involved and time-consuming, but he was great at keeping me abreast of his progress while trying to save me money as much as possible. It turned out my plumbing is good and updated but my main waste line was not. I was facing a necessary evil that can keep homeowners awake at night, but based on the fair price for everything I was getting, along with my experience working with them up to that point, I chose to have them replace 25ft. of my main line pipe for a couple obvious reasons they showed me. They were professional, thorough, and communicated very well, even attaching a collection of photos, including ones from the drain camera, with their final invoice for my records. And they were good at cleaning up. All their guys I met were great but I want to give a special shout out to Thomas as well. He really knows his stuff and is incredibly great with people. I really felt like I was in good hands with these guys and in the end I got fair value for the money spent, considering all that they did. So...I'm writing about a guy named Mandel Bishop. He arrived at 10:00 AM on the nose as was our appointment time ; liked him from the moment I met him. Polite , personable , he introduced himself , shook my hand , gave me his business card : a real PROFESSIONAL. Took care of my plumbing problem in short order , price was reasonable, and the experience couldn't have been more pleasant. I've waited a couple days to write this review to make everything is right...it is , and I'll definitely be using Rooter Hero Plumbing again and asking for Mandel Bishop by name ! read more

7x more$ overcharge. Yesterday, I couldn't shut off the cold water in my shower (broken control valve). Which meant I had running water I couldn't shut off. I called Rooter Hero, explained it was urgent and was told a technician would come between 11-1. Then they called at 12 saying it would be 2-4. Then at 3:30 they said it would have to be tomorrow; after I said that wasn't fair because I waited all day and have running water, they finally sent someone two hours later. The guy they sent said he'd have to break open the tiled shower wall and the cost would be $1,800 to replace the cold water control valve. I said that no, that's outrageous. The next day I called Michaelangelos Plumbing, they sent Manuel who was prompt. He removed the valve, replaced it (without breaking open the wall) and the entire charge was $246.50 for everything including parts. So from where I sit, Rooter Hero is either grossly overcharging for performing unnecessary work, or they don't know what they are doing. $1,800 v $246.50 -- an outlandish overcharge SEVEN TIMES MORE for a very simple and commonplace problem. read more

I wish I had come to yelp before I wasted my time with this company. I called for service today for a slow kitchen drain. The "plumber" they sent had NO IDEA what he was doing! When I showed him the slow drain in the sink, it was as if he'd never seen anything like it before. When we went outside the house to the kitchen clean-out he could not get the cap off. I noticed he was turning the Cap in the WRONG DIRECTION. Seriously? Even I know which way you turn to tighten or loosen something. After that he banged and banged on the valve (I was afraid he was going to break it!) and still could not get the cap off and said that I should hire another company to remove the cap and then have him come back to snake it. I called and talked to the supervisor to ask for someone with more experience and they told me they did not have time for my job --even when I said there was no rush.. This is not an emergency. What a WASTE of my time. read more
