I picked salted carmel and nutella, and he chose the coffee and honey almond. All the flavors were delicious, and I didn't feel overly full as I usually do with ice cream. This ice cream has ruined pretty much any other ice cream for me. First, the service is great. They are super friendly and do go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. But as for the ice cream itself, it's just beyond, beyond phenomenal. It's natural and chemical free. I like the fact that when I choose to indulge, I'm getting only the finest ingredients and it's not really bad for my health. I also love that they have a teeny tiny scoop for when I feel like I need a fix but don't want a whole bunch of ice cream. My favorites: Biscoff - tastes like fresh cooked waffle cones smell, which is both evil and divine Green Tea - seasonal flavor, it seems, but one of the best green teas I've tasted Honey Lavender - Oh come on. This just isn't playing fair, Rori. Seriously Dark Chocolate - name says it all, it's a very dark, deep chocolate that has the great slightly powdery taste of real dark chocolate But really, all the flavors are good. Ugh man I used to really love this place and thought it was even better than McConnells, but I've noticed recently that it has gone downhill for me. Kind of embarrassed now that I've even hyped it up to some of my friends now. The prices have gone up... $4.15 for the smallest scoop ever!! 6+ for a double scoop geezus... The customer service is also very unhappy and unfriendly the past few times I've been, which makes it another downer. Flavors that were once magnificent to me were 1. Strawberry cheesecake 2. Honey almond crunch 3. Malted milk ball The strawberry cheesecake was once out of this world but I've found it to be inconsistent lately with the cheesecake parts being freezer burned/icy which throws off the rest of the ice cream. I know this is quality ice cream, but either the prices need to go down a bit or the portion needs to make up for it to continue having me/others as a frequent customer! Along with the service too. Echoing another one or two reviews below. Solid ice cream, terrible service. When we got there it seemed closed and we're about to walk away. I commented how it's weird it's closed then suddenly a lady sitting. Outside said they're open. I was like no it's not, then I realize she works there and had just been CHILLEN outside with a friend. When we ordered it was incredibly uncomfortable which really put a damper on the situation. Oh also I think at some point I think I saw her take a spoon out of a customers cup before handing it to them? Crazy bad service Wouldn't go back for that reason alone. read more

Possibly the best ice cream I've ever had. Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, they were not offering samples which made the decision process extremely difficult and final. But the four flavors we ordered were amazing and the ice cream quality was perfect. Even the chocolate chunks mixed into the flavors were so good. To top everything off (or bottom) the waffle cone was definitely the best I've ever had! So fresh and flavorful. Would highly recommend the Mint patty flavor if you like mint at all. I am visiting from out of town and brought my husband, mother and sister to Rori's. when we got there the worker was busily helping a large family with their order. He took a second to acknowledge and welcome us and let us know that he would help us soon. The family's order was complicated and the worker, Beau, worked quickly and never made them feel rushed and continued to acknowledge my family (which I appreciate after years in customer service). When we got up Beau helped us by answering questions giving us samples and sharing recommendations. Since we were now the only guests in line Beau took his time helping us out-of-Towners make a decision. He was funny and helpful and completely made our day. Once you've tried their Fresh Mint Patty ice cream, you'll never be able to go anywhere else. And for good reason. This is the most incredible, fresh, artisan ice cream I've ever had. Nothing fake about this stuff. The mint ice cream steeps in fresh, garden mint for several days before it's made into ice cream with homemade peppermint patties added. It's organic, it's natural, and you'll have to go back at least a dozen times, because you won't be able to pick just one favorite flavor. Just want to say I have already tried each flavor at Roris. They're all so tasty and fresh. The employees are friendly and patient. The place is mom and pop like and super welcoming. My favorite flavors are lemon curd, peanut butter, maple pecan, and honey lavender. They have seasonal flavors as well so it's nice I have new things to try when I go in. By far my favorite ice creamery!! I cannot go anywhere else anymore. Absolutely nothing special. A sign indicated that chocolate cherry was a popular flavor but the server had to the pull container from the bottom of the fridge. It looked like it had been in there for a while, and was very icy. Service was similarly disappointing. No greeting when entering, no explanations, and no tasting offered. This is the best ice cream shop I've ever been to. The ice cream is perfectly balanced with flavor and creamy texture. Lot's of interesting and seasonal flavors like salted caramel and chocolate toffee. The cones taste like they were just baked within the last hour, so fresh and crispy. The double chocolate chip cookies are crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle with an intense high end chocolate flavor but not overly sweet. The best part is that you can order a "mini" cone and get your fix without over indulging. Definitely worth visiting when in the Santa Barbara area. read more

The best ice cream in NorCal, SoCal, and everywhere else in CAL! I arrived here on a lucky accident when I was stuck on the I-101 N, and stuck in traffic, I noticed a delivery truck in front of me with Rori's Organic Ice Cream printed on its side. So I followed it all the way to this indoor marketplace in downtown Santa Barbara, and I was richly rewarded. Lo and behold, the Passionfruit Ice Cream was the best I ever had. I also got a scoop of the Lavender Ice Cream, which was pretty good too, but I thought the Lavender Soft Cream I had at a Lavender farm in Hokkaido was slightly better. Anyway, Rori's Ice Cream is the definition of "artisanal." Clearly, Rori has been perfecting his recipe over the years. My sister got several "itty bitty" scoops which is 3 for $5, but the double scoop I got for $6 was far more economical. You should taste the flavors you think you'd like, and get the actual (as opposed to the itty-bitty) scoops, and you will be temporarily transported to an epicurean lala-land. Yes, I think a double scoop is generally the right quantity for one person to savor for a while. Have you ever heard of Marianne's Ice Cream in Santa Cruz that all the NorCal people go ga-ga for? Or Ici's in Berkeley? None of those compare to Rori's. Clearly, Rori's is on a different level! read more

My least favorite was the honey lavender, weird flavor and not my cup of tea. This place is tiny and it's unfortunate they dont make banana splits. However, their cones are very fresh and soft. Honestly Roris was the only ice cream I would actually eat because I never really have liked Ice cream and I loved it until I came this evening. I got to Roris about 8 minutes before closing and called in advance to let them know there were about 6 of us driving far just to come there and they said ok. We arrived and the girls were rude and all they said was "sorry we're closed". Seriously? If your hours say your opened till a certain time you should be serving till that time. We love rori's. Would give it a five +. But... Went yesterday, and noted mandatory 15% (or more) tip added to credit card purchases. I tip very well (ex waiter!) and like your employees and would almost certainly tip them very well. But I do not like to be mandated to do so. I had the mint ice cream which had a wonderful fresh mint flavor but I took a star off (would have been 4 stars) because I was shocked at the size of the scoop that was handed to me. I asked if it was the Itty bitty size and got some snotty looks from the kids behind the counter with a definite "no, it's the single." This was our first time ever to a Rory's and I think it will be our last. My husband and I just can't enjoy it, when paying almost $4 for less than a quarter cup of ice cream and a cone, no matter how good the ice cream may be. Thanks but no thanks. :( read more
