Saw a few reviews on the place so wanted to try it out. I have to say, I am happy I did. The restuarant is small and off the main road. Plenty of parking on the street. The food is amazing. The price for the platters is great for what you get. The main order with three different side orders. Plenty of combinations to mix and match with. I ordered the gyro with Greek salad, hummus, and rice. Also comes with pita bread. It really hit the spot. Would reccomend this place to everyone. read more

Wow, what a hidden gem! I found this place when i was searching for a lunch spot while working out in Long Island. I saw the reviews and instantly started craving a Greek salad. I put on the GPS and almost missed it, it's located right after a bridge. I found street parking and went inside, not the fanciest of restaurants; 3 tiny outdated tables that wobble with 2 chairs each. My kind of spot, you know the food is going to slap. Ordered my greek salad with grilled chicken, got a box of brownies that were on the counter just to balance out my healthy salad and a big ole Snapple from the fridge. Everything was on pointttt. Tasted fresh and delicious and the brownies were nice and moist. I would definitely come back here. There is a 4% extra charge if using a credit card but it's totally worth it. My meal came out to about $18 and i was full for the rest of the day. read more

I usually bring my own lunch to work, but today I decided I'd buy something from the neighborhood. It's about a 10 minute walk to Roro's from the office so I decided to place my order over the phone as I was heading out. Mario picked up the phone and he was very patient with me as I thought about which 3 sides I wanted with my gyro platter. Ultimately, I chose rice, Baba Ghanoush, and Greek Salad. All three sides were great! The rice was bland, but it's RICE so I really was not expecting much from it. However, it was perfect for my platter because the meat was well seasoned and flavorful. It was my first time trying Baba Ghanoush. There's definitely a smokey flavor to it, as a few other reviewers have mentioned. At one point, it tasted like smoked ham to me. The Greek salad was my favorite side out of the three that I chose; the dressing was light and used sparingly on the salad. The platter came with some pita bread, which were warm and soft. I ate it with the Baba Ghanoush, but it tasted great on its own, too. Portions were more than expected; I was only able to finish half of the box for lunch. As you can see from the photo they use really fresh ingredients There was a snafu with my delivery as I apparently didn't ask for delivery and so they expected a pick up, but that's on me not them, yet they still accommodated me and fired up a new order and delivered it for me! This is truly a hidden gem. I've been living in the area for almost 3 years and never noticed Roro's. I had a coworker who mentioned this place to me and highly recommended it. I've been hooked ever since. From the moment you walk in you feel like you're walking into your moms kitchen. They are so nice and welcoming. I've have the chicken souvlaki platter. Comes with the most juicy tender chicken and two sides, I recommend the Greek salad so good! But lately I've been hooked on chicken and lamb mixed gyro. This has to be the best gyro I've ever had in my life. The lamb is cooked to perfection and thinly cut not those big chucks. Only thing I regret is not finding this place sooner!!!!!! read more

I went to roro's few weeks ago to pick up a lamb over rice. I'm unsure if the rice they gave me was old or the lamb they gave me was old but something was off. Long story short that night and the next day, I had intense stomach pains and was throwing up all day. I gave the store a call that day, looking to speak to the owner. I explained to the person on the other line what had happened. The person on the other line then said, they were in the middle of a busy lunch rush and the owner would contact me back. I get a call back 20 or so minutes later while I'm puking my guts up in the bathroom. I couldn't make it to the phone because of that reason. When I listened to message the store had left me on my cellphone, all I recieved was a hang up, that's it... No apology or worry if I was okay by the expired dog food I was served that made me sick beyond belief. I did not receive another call back from roro's and I will never go back. I did contact the board of health for Nassau county and really hope they look into the matter. And I also am in talks with my credit card company to dispute the charge. TLDR I do not recommend this place. Go to either chicken Gyro delicious or the Greek pie. Both are down the block, are way better and don't serve you dog food that makes you sick. read more

This review is loooong overdue. Alright, listen up... First off, customer service is on point. I believe its family owned. I tend to order delivery and i live about 10 mins away. Never had to wait longer than 30 mins and theyll tell you wait time is 30-50 (but nah). These people remember me by now cause ill order once every two months or so. Theyre super humble. Food- packed with flavor. My go to is Chicken Soulvaki Dinner Plate with the sides of tabouleh, greek salad and hummus. Sometimes ill swap one of them for rice or "babaganoosh" (dont know how to spell it but thats how you pronounce it) GENEROUS PORTIONS FOR WHAT YOU PAY. Love it. Always comes with pita and sauce too. Man, i can go on and on about this place. Ive ordered over 15 times since they opened. They hold a huge advantage over their competitor Chicken Gyro although they are CASH ONLY so my 15 times ordering there could have been 25 times if they accepted the holy plastic grail a.k.a card. Go try their food! The place is a hole in the wall but its a great addition to Valley Stream. read more
