Went to Rosalina's for a family dinner. While the portions were huge and reasonably priced, that is about the only good thing I can say about the meal. To start out, when the waitress came by to take our orders, she saw that we brought wine (since it is a BYOB) and asked how many glasses we needed. We told her 7 glasses and she came back with 3 saying that they were still washing the other glasses and would bring them when they were cleaned. She later dropped off 3 more glasses and we were still missing 1 more which we had to ask for. When ordering our meals, we asked if we could have a round of waters for the table. Unfortunately we had to ask 2 more times for the waters until we received the waters (which was halfway through our meals). We order the Eggplant Napolean for an appetizer for the table. When it came, it was soaking in oil and had no flavor at all. When our main courses came, instead of dropping off the plates with each person, they stood at the head of the table and asked everyone to pass the plates down. I got the Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan combo. While the portion was huge, the chicken was overcooked and dry and the eggplant was again flavorless (a little seasoning could go a long way...). We always enjoy the food, but we literally dread calling to place our take out order! The hostess who answers the phone is ALWAYS so rude! She is beyond unprofessional and really doesn't care if customers return. If the food weren't so good, we would never return. From the other reviews I have read, it appears as though she is one of the owners, so the reviews won't change anything. I will never go back to this restaurant after what I experienced this past Saturday. I was there with my family of a party of 10. After dinner we were asked if we wanted coffee. Once we ordered the coffee and dessert, we were handed the bill and told that the coffee and dessert were already added on the bill. As we sat trying to enjoy our dessert, we were approached by who I believe was the owner. She said " I don't want to sound rude but are you ready to go because we have a line at the door" I was stunned!! My friend and I came in for dinner. I have to say this place was amazing. First love that it is BYOB! I don't know what was better.... the food or the service. We started with the mussels, the portion was very generous and the flavor was great. My friend had the haddock piccata over pasta. She had enough to take home for a second meal and again the flavor was great- Real Italian food. I had the shrimp scampi over gluten free pasta. I have a gluten allergy/intolerance so I was excited to be able to have a great pasta dish. Big prawns and tons of pasta! The flavor was great as well. Now the waitress- she was sweet and attentive, but not overly attentive. All the waitresses said hello as they passed by and I believe the owner even came over to make sure everything was going well. I've head so many good things about rosalinas. Was I misinformed. I had the fruiti di mare which means fruit of the sea. It's mussels, clams shrimp and haddock in a red sauce or white wine sauce. I had the red with gemelli as my pasta. First off half my clams weren't open. 5 mussels were empty the shrimp were over cooked and tough to chew. The gemelli were so under cooked they were crunchy. The red sauce tasted like it came from a can and they spiced it up. Then they had pumpkin ravioli in a brown sugar maple syrup sauce. Need I say anymore on that pallet raping dish? I'm Italian and a chef so I know what Italian food is and how it should taste. The only thing Italian about rosalinas is the name. They can't even get the bread right. I will never eat there again and suggest anybody who enjoys Italian food. This is not the place to try. read more

The staff is very nice, the food is exceptional, especially the ravioli's and the atmosphere reminds me of having dinner with my family back in the old days.... The food is authentic, homemade Italian. The TLC put into the preparation and cooking is obvious in the taste. The chicken parm is out of control good - perfectly cooked, delicious breading. My only criticism, and nothing to do with the food, is that it is not wheelchair accessible and one of the four exits to this place opens inwards and is usually blocked by tables. Our family dined at Rosalina's Kitchen tonight for the first time. We had seen they were a part of Worcester's Restaurant Week. We are so glad we decided to try it. The food was absolutely incredible! We had the Caprese salad, Chicken Parmesan and Eggplant Rolatini. The food was served piping hot and it was delicious. The Strawberry Shortcake and the Canollis were also very tasty. We always get take out, usually ravioli or the peanut salad. Despite the rude owner, the food was good so we tolerated it. Recently though, the gravy on the ravioli has been too peppery and we were unable to eat it. We had to throw it out and just ate the huge bread! Then the peanut salad. One week it was missing broccoli and cranberries, there was not much there. Another week they put the dressing on the salad there so when we got it home, it was disgusting! We had to throw that meal out too. We decided that it was too expensive to keep throwing out meals so we now make the salads at home on our own. They are better and always come out right. The Peanut dressing is at Wegmans, we add broccoli, chopped carrots, celery, cranberries and we buy a bag of the asian chips for the top. No more rude hostess to deal with and no more throwing out meals. read more

Excellent food! The meatballs are fantastic. You have to try the avalanche. Ambiance is not the best. Very small restaurant and it is BYOB. The pasta (spaghetti, linguine) is not home made but the raviolli's are. It is a little pricey perhaps because it is a BYOB. read more

Instead of Rosalina's Kitchen, the name should be Rosalina's Closet because that is where you feel like you are eating. When you open the door to go in, you need to be careful not to walk into someone's table. The tables are so crammed together that it screams fire hazard. I'm not sure who in owner's family claimed it to be "the best Italian food in Worcester", but I can assure you, it is not. Their meatballs are bland and their homemade raviolis made me wish I had stayed home and had Mama Rosie's ravioli instead. They are truly better than Rosalina's. The service was also not "the best in Worcester" either. The waitress was unfriendly and had to be asked several times for items before getting them. When waiting several minutes and asking several times for someone to open our wine, we asked the hostess. She replied, "I don't open wine". She was clearly over 21. With fabulous Italian restaurants like Via and Chioda's Restaurant a few minutes down the road, one can only wonder how long before the owner is back to working in research organization. read more

Bad beginning and ending. Used shrimp tail in the bread basket.....owner was defensive sorry don't know how that happened. Did she want our party to guess. We arrived promptly at 6:30 which was our reservation time. We had paid the bill but were enjoying the last of our coffee and wine. We were asked to leave as there was a large party waiting for the table. We pointed out that the website asks you to limit your time to two hours, it was 8:11!!! We pointed out that we were within the two hour policy posted on the web. Very very rude...and no apology from the owner. She was well aware as the size is very small. This by far has to be the worst service ever!! Took over a half hour to even be acknowledged by a waitress. No bread plates or water offered. No specials were even explained, while people in next table who sat down after us were offered all. The food was marginal. We were very disappointed in both service and food. Spoke to the hostess, owner was extremely unpleasant and she did not seem to care about our experience when I shared it with her. So much for a dining and birthday experience. I'm not one of those people who only complains. I'll comment over the entire spectrum. This is my third trip here and my last. My first experience was fantastic. My second was so, so. (Even the best places can have an off night) so i tried it again, but tonight sealed it for me. First off the bread was terrible. It had no taste and was close to stale. Good bread has flavor and this had none. I ordered the Chicken Picatta. At first glance I thought I had the wrong dish. It was five little pcs of chicken in a bowl of broth with some ziti, spinach & capers. The first bite was shocking. The amount of lemon used was over the top and was just as heavy on the salt. The chicken looked boiled, but was covered with a pasty texture like wet flour. I am not a food snob and normally would push through it, but I had to send it back. They quickly returned with my dish, making me feel like they may have walked into the kitchen, turned around and gave me back my original dish...no change to the taste, My wife had the ravioli and a meatball which she said was ok but nothing great. (She's a Long Island italian so she knows Italian) She had a cannoli for dessert. When she cut it in half, there was no cream in the center of the cannoli...they only filled the ends. It was dry & bitter. Add two decaf coffee's and a little bowl of gelato...$72.00 with a tip. Time to find somewhere new. read more

I work in the restaurant business, currently at a delicious Italian place in northborough and an outstanding BYOB in Spencer. So, I'm a foodie, I love food, good food. My chicken picatta could have been soup, seriously, it was in a huge dish and it was swimming!!!! The chicken was tender but the lemon was so over powering my throat still hurts. The side of pasta that came with it was extremely al dente, the sauce was tasteless. Like Hunts from the can. Our waitress was adorable and attentive but seriously, I expected better food. Maybe for half the price we paid and I'd say ok whatever, but not for these prices. The owner seems really grouchy too, almost like customers are an inconvenience. read more

Rosalina 's Kichen has gone way downhill. Went for the first time in a while and it was awful. Way too expensive for what you get. We ordered the eggplant rollatini and the haddock scampi. After waiting 35 minutes it was delivered by the waitress who threw it down and never returned for the rest of the meal. The rollatini was not rolled , just a blob of ricotta with one thin piece of eggplant wrapped around it and the sauce was awful very heavy on the tomato paste and no seasoning. The scampi was worse, watery sauce with little flavor , no lemon or butter to be found . I ordered it with linguine but it came with spaghetti and when I questioned it the owner said that's what their linguine looks like! Bread also was awful and the water was undrinkable with chlorine taste. Just awful and overpriced. Also terrible service , the hardest working person was the busboy who I had to ask to bring me a beverage because the waitress never returned. Waste of money!!! read more

Excellent food and excellent service. Prices are fantastic, $12-$15 for a meal, so with BYOB you're really getting off cheap. Had a couple appetizers and some desert to finish. For the 4 of us the bill was about $100... how can you beat that for 4 people? Food was great. Everyone agreed it was the best waitress we have ever had. She was very down to earth, very fun,and kept telling us to take our time and enjoy a few drinks before ordering. We ordered appetizers and the meals at once. When the appetizer came she said to enjoy, and said she would keep an eye on us and not put the meal order into the kitchen until we were almost done with the appetizer, so we did not feel rushed at all, we were able to relax, enjoy a free drink, and get the most out of it. Hostess can come off as rude but keep in mind its an old school hole in the wall italian restaurant, so I found nothing wrong with that! read more

How could anyone say this is good food. I will eat anything at a restaraunt if I'm paying for it. If I don't like it I won't go back . I could not eat this food , plus I had to hold my table with my leg and keep it against the wall to stop it from rocking. The tables are to close and every time the OWNER went by me she would bump into me and never acknowledge it. The only good thing was our server otherwise givining this place one star is an asking for a lot. Go to any pizza joint and get better food. read more

I was at Rosalina's Kitchen with Donna. My partner and I have been going to Rosalina's since they opened. We go for special occasions and recommend the restaurant to everyone we know. What happened the night that Donna is talking about is as follows. It was partners birthday. Donna ordered and sent back two meals due to the fact that she couldn't make up her mind what she wanted. The waitress said not a problem and just let it go and got Donna what she wanted. The kitchen made both dishes that she wanted. We were not charged for one dish. Which was very nice of the owners. They didn't need to do that. The owner very nicely said to Donna that the kitchen prepared both meals and Donna over reacted. Donna went up to the owner and tossed a twenty dollar bill at her. The owner came over to the time very nicely and said the meal is all set and was that necessary. Donna started raising her voice at the owner and blew everything out of proportion. Donna is a regular at the restaurant as well and loves the food. I will continue to go back to Rosalina's sometimes twice a week. Due to Donna's escalation in behavior she was asked to leave the restaurant due to her raising her voice. I don't blame the owners at all. Rosalinas bar far is not only the best BYOB in the city but in my opinion one of the best restaurants period. read more

***Dreadful, Amateur, Horrible.. these are unfortunately the correct words to describe this HUGE disappointment in the culinary arts, after reading some good reviews about this place (Obviously written by the folks that work there) we decided to have dinner there with 6 of our friends the other night... when we arrived we were greeted by a very gruff angry looking hostess, (who we found out was one of the owners of this jewel) , she seated us in there dining room and it went all down hill rapidly from that point.. the servers were of the I Hop quality and so was the food... after waiting quite a while to be offered a glass to pour the wine in that we brought we ordered our bush league appetizers and meals, the fried mozzarella with marinara is completely tasteless, and the Shrimp dish I had was very watery and also quite tasteless I might add the substandard wait staff spilled a little on me when she dropped it on the table (no apologies were given) apparently she went to the same charm school as the hostess, other folks in our party had the Fra Diavalo which was basically red sauce with pepperoncini juice dumped in it... again a complete mockery of what the dish should have been ... The cook must have been trained by the same people that gave us Chef Boyardee... I should have stayed home and open a can of Spaghetti O's that would have been better then this place... All I can say is the City of Worcester has many amazing Italian restaurants to choose from and this is definitely not one of them... In fact Rosalina and staff should go out and do some sampling of what good food should taste like and how great hospitality works.. I have never written a review on a restaurant before good or bad but after this dismal experience I couldn't with a clear conscious allow hard working people with taste buds to be subjected to this place... read more

We went on a Saturday night and had a reservation. We were seated as soon as we arrived and looked over the menu, which looks fantastic! The 3 of us settled on one of the specials . . . eggplant parm, stuffed with ricotta and served over your choice of pasta. The bread was very good, the entree was excellent, we loved it! Also had dessert and coffee . . . a conolli, chocolate gelato, both very tasty. While we were eating our desserts, the waitress brought our check, which was fine. We finished dessert and were winding down on the coffee and also had a little more wine to finish when the waitress returned and asked if we needed any change. We told her we hadn't had a chance to look at the bill as yet, we were chatting and catching up on each other's lives. Her response was, " I have reservations waiting." We were a bit miffed at her comment, were not offered a coffee refill, we quickly got the cash together for the bill and left without finishing the wine. The food was excellent, but if you want to sit , chat and visit with friends for a Saturday evening, this is not the place to go! If you have something else to do and you want to get in and out quickly, then this is the place for you. I would probably visit again, but not to enjoy an evening of dining with friends as we were rushed out. read more

This is hands down the BEST Italian in Worcester. It is a great little BYOB place, which makes it very affordable to still enjoy a gourmet, Italian meal, out in the city! The owners are fabulous and so is the rest of the staff! We feel like family when we are there!! The portions are HUGE! Plan on wearing your stretchy pants for sure! It's definitely worth every calorie though! My husband's favorite is their Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo! Before it was officially on the menu, they were always gracious enough to make it especially for him. Now that it is on the menu, he is just upset that they didn't name it after him! ;) I have tried almost everything on the menu and I have never once been disappointed. Their homemade ravioli's are phenomenal. Their meatballs are to die for ( And I am 100% Italian with 2 of the most amazing grandmothers that make some pretty darn good meatballs- so my opinion should count for something!). We almost never have room for dessert but we usually get it to go. Their bread pudding is best I've ever had! I could go on and on, but I am just making myself hungry!!!
