We found this place just browsing Yelp while we were staying in town. There weren't too many…read moreoptions and we wanted something more than fast food or a pizza place. I'm so glad we tried this one because it ended up being perfect! It's beautiful inside, especially the bar area. We sat in there because even though they don't have a dress code, we felt too underdressed and were more comfortable sitting at the bar. Right off the bat, the service was excellent. The hostess was super sweet and accommodating, and shortly after we sat, we were greeted by the owner. Above and beyond! He thanked us for coming and left us to our meal. We had: -Raw oysters: a mixed bunch of deliciousness! -Shrimp scampi: packed with shrimp! So much so that I couldn't finish the dish and had to take the rest home. Very tasty, and has a creole flare to it that sets it apart from your typical scampi dish. -Dessert: faced with the choice of vanilla OR chocolate crème brûlée, we dared to be different and it was a fabulous choice. The mint with the chocolate was a marvelous touch. -Drinks: I had a French 75 and my mom had a different 75 that I'm blanking on the name of. Both were fantastic! The bartenders were both awesome and they truly take pride in their creations. The owner came back around to check on us, and while we ate, we had noticed him giving what looked like tours to other patrons. We asked about some of the history and he was more than happy to share with us. Very interesting and an added bonus to our visit! All around, I had a wonderful birthday dinner and highly recommend this place to anyone who finds themselves in the area.

The food wasn't as good as it could have been in my opinion for the price. The service was okay. The place not as grand as I had expected from hearing people talk about it. I should have just went to Longview for a better anniversary meal with the wife.

This place is pretty good. Service is outstanding. The waitress came by and took our drink orders…read more Another waiter asked if we wanted some bread for the table. Yes and yes. I had a barrel ages old fashioned. The bread was fresh and tasty. The menu has quite a variety...steak, chicken, seafood...something for everyone. We were going for steak. A filet was ordered and two of us ordered the 14 oz ribeye. From what I saw on other tables steak seems to be a favorite. The waitress came back and took salad orders, how we wanted the meat cooked plus another drink if needed. I ordered medium well. After a bit i order another old fashioned. The first one went smooth and good. Not too much ice, just the right amount of liquor. Chilled and good. The wedge salad comes out and it's covering the plate. Thousand island dressing plus real bacon bits. A nice touch. Just enough dressing. After a bit the ribeye arrives. It too covers a portion of then plate. it's a bit peppered but cooked right. The waitress asked us to cut into the meat to verify it was cooked right, they all were cooked as ordered. Truly a treat. The steak is gone, a little bread is left on the table, half the old fashioned is remaining. Definitely will return in the future if I'm in Shreveport. Between the service and quality of the food it's a must visit if you're in town.

We loved this place. We are here for a month and locals recommended it. At first we wondered at…read morethe name "2 Johns": was it run by hookers ? - No, it was owned by two guys named "John", who didn't like the idea of John "squared". OK enough comedy. This place is wonderful!!! Friendly attentive Staff, great Bar (where we like to eat), outstanding atmosphere, and the food is OUTSTANDING!!! Even the "bar wines by the glass" are good and the "pours" are generous. If you like red snapper, and who doesn't, their choices are all worth your time. The bread was warm and tasty. Bartenders Paige and Kelsey kept our wine glasses full and made our time there memorable. We split a strawberry cheesecake for desert - a huge piece, very good. Since we were there on a Saturday late afternoon, we listened to Randy entertain us at the piano - a very respectable performance! Thank you, all!!! We only review very good and very bad establishments; we allow mediocre to take care of itself

The atmosphere is gorgeous, the service was impeccable, and every bite of food was unforgettable. It was absolutely worth the drive, and we'll definitely be back. We started with the smoked duck charcuterie board and it was incredible and normally I don't even like duck. The steak was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. To top it all off, the limoncello dessert was hands down the best dessert I've ever had. This wasn't just one of the best meals I've had--it may honestly be the best restaurant I've ever eaten at!

Serenity Ranch is a full scale ranch and restaurant located about 40 minutes away from Longview…read more This place screams "unique experience" long before you set foot on the property. It only has 10 tables, so it is reservations only. Wanting to get on the experience, I made my reservations and set my expectations high. Driving there was a treat with the scenic views. Their signs on the main road outside of the restaurant make it very easy to navigate to the restaurant, even with limited visibility at night. We were immediately greeted by the valet driver and then the General Manager, who seated us promptly. (He visited with us after the meal and checked to make sure everything was up to our liking.) The inside was very intimate. The 10 tables were perfectly spaced to make the ambiance as good as it could get. It felt like you were alone, but not so quiet that it was uncomfortable either. Waters were poured and warm French bread was served. We were off to a great start. The waitress took good care of us overall. Her recommendations were helpful and her demeanor was very pleasant. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese along with the mushroom cap appetizers - both were flawless. For entrees - we ordered the ribeye and halibut. Both were well seasoned and excellently cooked. The fish was flavorful and flaky. The Brussel sprouts that we paired with the entrees were a poor choice. They felt soggy and not the flavor we were wanting. This was the ONLY complaint when it came to food as everything else was cooked to perfection. At a restaurant of this caliber, the small details are what make or break the experience for me. The drink service was very slow and the drinks themselves felt pretty watered down (not strong). It was close to 15-20 minutes between when I had finished my first drink and was asked if I wanted a second one. I asked for blue cheese crumbles with the steak and the waitress never brought or mentioned them. I asked for French fries in place of the scalloped potatoes, and the steak came with the scalloped potatoes instead. When I asked for fries to come out in addition to the steak (thinking the kitchen may have messed up), the waitress sounded like this was the first time I had asked for fries. I would definitely come back. But for the price tag that comes with this place ($375 was tab for 2), I hope the small details are capitalized on next time to secure that 5 star review.
