Both of my kids (2yr & 10yr) have been going to Dr. Retino for years now. She is the absolute best pediatrician I have ever met. She's caring, gentle, friendly, takes her time and explains any questions we have. Both of her offices (chino and Ontario) are clean and she has a great staff at both. She is always on call and returns calls immediately at anytime of the night. She's so experienced and her work speaks for itself. Every single diagnose she has given my kids has been completely accurate and she knows exactly what to do to make them feel better. The doctors office in chino hills is far better than the one in ontario. Office itself is cleaner in chino hills. The down side about the one in chino hills is that they open late. Due to an emergency visit we had to come to the one in ontario. I waited for an hour n 15 mins and the office itself not very nice and clean. We love dr. Retino though. . read more

Had so many appointments that was "missing" In their system and so many times appointment had to be changed last min due to the dr is not in that week or away on conference! This review is for the Ontario office .. I took my daughter in for a simple Tb shot that was needed to start school as a cash patient , The front office girls are very dry and very un professional. Wait time was a little over an hour, and you can tell the office isn't well kept. When it was finally time to go back and see Dr. Retino, I was told she was not in the office that day ! So one of her assistants poorly examined my daughter. After that, they kept insisting my daughter needed 3 or 4 vaccines I almost felt as if they weren't going to let me leave until My daughter received them , at that point I informed them I just want what I paid/came in for, a simple TB SHOT!! And that I was going to take care of her vaccinations else where due to how uncomfortable they made me feel. Overall I had a HORRIBLE experience and will not be bringing my daughter back. read more

The Ontario office has the worst service! Schedule an appointment for physical, when I show up they tell me I have a copay! I asked why if it was physicals! According to lady at the front desk (which was very rude by the way!) I was a walk in patient and I had no appointment! So I asked to schedule me for physical and she rolled her eyes and was very dry and rude about it! She also asked me to go to 7-11 across the street and take out money to pay for copay! Had the worse experience at this clinic. Physician spoke with such an attitude when i had explained that I needed a document filled out for my sons procedure. She said" If i have time I will do it". This shows that she doesn't care for her patients. She requested information from me And so i called and gave them what was asked for and the front desk never gave her the information, now im here waiting at the hospital my sons procedure placed on hold all because there bad communication and careless physician. If you don't like what you do find another job. Don't go and give attitude to your patients or be rude about request made. read more

I am so thankful to have Dr.Retino as my children's Pediatrician! We have seen her for the past 6 yrs and she has been so sweet with my boys. She takes the time to answer your questions and explain things to you. Whenever I have called after hours, she always responds back quickly. If we need an appointment the same day, the office tries to accommodate you which is great. I highly recommend Dr. Retino. If you make an appointment in the Ontario office, just verify with staff if your child will be seeing Dr. Retino or the Physician Assistant. We always see Dr.Retino in the Chino Hills office which is a closer location to us. read more

Stay away from this place! I chose her to be my pediatrician for my newborn. It seemed like I was just a paycheck to her. She is not personable at all. I could never even get a question in without her cutting me off. She would say one thing one day and another the next day. My son was not taking formulas well and she kept making him drink pedialyte. He was not getting the food he needed. Went to a new pediatrician today. In one visit I discovered my son just had an allergy and my new pediatrician even told me my son's clavicle bone was broken, which most likely happened at birth. This is my first child so I never even knew it was common. However, Dr Retino never even mentioned it to me. Take my advice and find a different pediatrician that actually cares about your child. read more

Worst Pediatrician and worst clinic staff ever. I was forced to go here because I was forced to be on medi-cal through Obamacare for 4 months until my husband completed his residency in another state (apparently in California if you make less than 60k yearly, then you have to get medi-cal for kids unless you're willing to pay thousands a month proper health insurance--in all fairness my husband had just gotten hired in California as a surgeon and our new insurance would begin in July while I started going here in March) while I moved back to California to give birth to our second child so that I could receive help for both my children from family members since my husband had an extremely busy schedule. I feel extremely sad that medi-cal patients have to go to such terrible physicians and clinics and definitely know the other side of the healthcare now. As a healthcare professional myself, I always had the privilege of great health insurance, can't believe people have to see such physicians with poor scholar and poor communication/people skills and manners. My biggest complaint would be with the front desk nurse (I think she's an LVN) at the chino location, I think she is Korean but don't know her name). She is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life. She always has a RBF happening and she is insensitive, terrible with the kids while getting weight and height, makes ridiculous allegations on you and the list goes on. Dr. Retina seemed nice at first. But I went to her Ontario clinic and I could hear her saying "why the hell is she here" in regard to me, I was there because I thought my daughter had oral thrush and just wanted the medication for it before it worsened. I can't believe a doctor would react this rudely ever. I called in and her office personnel told me to come in at that time so that's what I did. Dr. Retina also tried to make me sign up for some weird program or clinical testing for shots for my daughter, and after I declined she said that she can't give the combo shots to my daughter because she had medical and would have to get 5 shots instead of 2 (which had all 5 strains). She first suggested that I do three shots then and come back in a week to get the rest. I declined because I wasn't going to let my daughter go through fevers and pain etc twice!! I told her I'd pay privately for the combo. Also, her staff always checked my babies weight with wet diapers and clothes on which is a poor way to check, I luckily had a healthy baby so it didn't matter and bought a baby scale at home to monitor. Additionally, she didn't give my then 18 month old all the shots she needed at the time so I had to go back in several days to get her the MMR, which is upsetting because my 18 month old had to go through it again. My husband, who is a surgeon, told me she probably did that to get more visits out of me so that she can get more money through medi-cal. So disgusting that our healthcare system is so unethical. I feel like she should be reported and cited for negligence. Also, keep in mind that you will have to wait at least 1-2 hours from your appointment time to see her and don't schedule at 3:00 pm at chino because she doesn't even get to the clinic until 3:30 or 3:45 but still will schedule people earlier than that not realizing how inconvenient it is for moms of two babies to just wait there just to get her child's ear checked or shots. Her patient rooms are not clean, I don't think they change the plastic white paper on the seat. Overall, I'm happy to have a great pediatrician again, I can go on and on how this place was definitely one of the worst experiences of my life and I would not recommend anyone to go here. Call your medi-cal insurance and have the doctor changed on your card. It's just not worth it. read more

(This rating is for the Chino Hills office). Dr Retino has been my children's pediatrician since they were born 7 years ago. I researched all the doctors in the area and I finally decided on her. When my children were born she came to the hospital to exam them. She is patient and thorough. As for a specialist referral, if she didn't decide to refer your child, you need to present why your child should be referred. Also, at times, I needed to follow up with her after going to urgent care. Thank goodness I did because sometimes the medications were too strong. Finally, every since she has been their doctor, if I needed to reach her in an emergency, she actually responds. I can sleep much better after she calls. The only time she didn't is because she was at a convention. But, usually there's someone else on call. And, if on vacation, the person she left in charge was also thorough.
