With pizza shops around every corner they definitely have one of the better ones, but thats not all they have. They delicious sandwiches as well. I need to come back to try more.

These pies are hands down delicious!! Owner hand makes them himself!!! So we ordered 1 to eat & 2 as back up!! They take credit cards & we only waited 20 mins for all 3 pies!! Everything was super fresh & yummy!! Ambiance was pleaseant!!

This is a solid slice of pizza. Good balance of flavor, cheese, bread. Nothing overpowering. Service was great! Love the layout of the space. I need to try their sandwiches next time.

Great pizza, one of the top few places in the neighborhood. Good deli options as well, like pasta salads, etc. Aracini rice ball with vegetables was good, had either asparagus or broccoli rabe and cheese, almost a bit too cheesy, but good. Good grocery selection, depending what you're looking for. Known for great owner and great service, they have plenty of people working so the wait isn't long. Smooth systems and clear, robust menu. A professionally-running place.

Al Pollo. Picture does not do it justice. Quite a delicious hero.

There's no shortage of great Italian Delis in Astoria. I've tried most of them and I have to say, Rosario's is my favorite. The Al Pollo sandwich is my go to when I want some of the best chicken cutlets around. Portion size is strong, despite many other places cutting back. The prices are fair and quality is high. I've heard their pizza is also the best in town so I'll have to try at some point.

I wandered into Rosario's on my way to the Astoria-Ditmars (N) station one afternoon, simply because it looked like a charming little vestige of pre-gentrified Ditmars Blvd. The storefront is fairly large, and the shelves are packed with pantry goods ranging from olive oils to tinned fish imported from Italy. I found the prices to be quite reasonable and really enjoyed the large selection of goods available. While I was quietly perusing the shelves, I noticed that a majority of customers who walked in made a beeline to the right side of the store, where the deli/pizza counter was. I wasn't able to try a slice at the time, but after hearing rave reviews about their pizza, I was finally able to get my hands on their Polpette pie ($27) which features meatballs from a family recipe sliced thinly to resemble pepperoni. I'm not a huge meats lover on pizza but I was pretty blown away by how delicious it was. The marinara sauce was bright and perfectly acidic, the meatball discs tender and seasoned, and the dough tossed thin enough for a good crunch but robust enough to prevent any floppiness from the weight of the mozzarella. I've eaten a good amount of pizza in Astoria, and Rosario's easily takes top 3 (maybe even top 1)! I'd love to return and try their margherita slice and their sandwiches too.

Rosario's is an oldschool gem of Astoria, Queens. The type of oldschool delis & shops that are being runover and pushed out in the city of New York to make room for fancy apartment buildings. Rosario's has survived! They have a huge selection of imported Italian goods. Chocolate croissants, biscuits, sodas & other pantry items. I was here for the pizza though. I've read & heard a lot of rave reviews of the pizza here. I can proudly say they deserve all the hype they get. They make their mozzarella fresh in-house which I appreciate so much. That mixed with their light sauce & slightly char on the bottom & slightly burnt cheese bubbles makes for an epic pizza! You just have to try it for yourself. Rosario's can go toe-to-toe with any of New York City's heavy hitters in the pizza game. Staff is very nice & friendly. Prices are very fare. Large regular 18" pie was $22.50 as of this review 06/2025.

What a welcoming and friendly old school gourmet deli. Cold cuts and fresh sandwiches galore and let's not forget their beautifully made pizza. Yes you heard right, Pizza! It ranks up there with New York's best. Rosario's is simply a local Astoria delight.

A true NYC gem. A complete opposite from your typical loosie spot bodega ran by Akhs.

The sandwich itself is good just wish it was a bit bigger for the price you pay. But I have to say each time I had it the sandwich was good. I never had any of their bagels so can't really speak on that but they do look pretty good. Overall their menu is pretty decent and you can order pretty much anything and customize anything they have as well. The staff is very nice and the place has plenty of seating in the back and outside as well.

Whether you're in the neighborhood or just East, you're likely going to pass it on the way to the train. With solid outdoor picnic-style tables, it's a fantastic alternative to Espresso 77. Inside there's some more great seating with a high counter, plenty of more large tables and some smaller ones. Queing up to order is fairly straightforward and the large hanging menu makes it easy to figure out what you might like. IMHO, sandwiches are the go-to. You get exactly what you expect and the price point is reasonable. What I would absolutely avoid is breakfast sandwiches. Prices on those is far less reasonable. Overall, you get exactly what you expect here and it's nice to have it as a neighborhood option.

I saw sandwiches with deli meats (ham, turkey, roast beef). Too bad, for lent, on fridays, I gave up meat, so I couldn't tell you what I thought of these omelettes or heroes. Never to fear, I will come by another time to try it. I didn't see the prices, but I did try their orange juice. It was really satisfying. One plus is that the owner was engaging and approachable. I also saw snacks that you would be able to purchase at a local grocery or bodega. I saw a choice amount of beer along with cold beverages (non-alchoholic, kid-friendly). I even spotted danishes, muffins, bagels, etc. I even saw laundry and hand detergent and some common household products. The prices seem fair and moderate.

It is a great sandwich and loaded with goodness. Crispy bacon, juicy tomatoes and a generous sized chicken breast, all on a large hero. This is actually 2 meals, being that eating it in one sitting will make you want to take a nap. If you're in the area I would give this a try, pretty sure you will have it again as I did. There are a lot of options in Jackson heights, and I say this should definitely be on your list. In addition in the mornings and during the day, they can whip up all types of other sandwiches and wraps. The only caveat is that they close the grill at 5pm at the moment. Thanks to the guys here for making this and I will be back for more.
