Ordered a large cheese pie and specifically asked that it be made fresh. Also an antipasto salad and sausage roll delivered. Added tip and it was over $70. No customer should have to ask that their food be made fresh. The pizza was a reheated cardboard disc. This is the third time I have ordered a regular cheese pie and they gave me a reheated leftover dry pie. After it happened the second time we have been ordering half one topping and half something else and specifically asking that it be made fresh because on one other occasion they just added cheese and then added topping and reheated it. Note to Carlos: We can tell the difference. It's back to Rosa's for us. Really disgraceful. read more

Though it's a good slice, not sure about all the raves and the extremely high rating. Personally, I have been here several times and would rate it a solid 7/10. Unfortunately, I prefer a zestier sauce and theirs lack a zing. Regardless, I would stop by if I'm in the neighborhood, but unlikely drive out of my way. read more

Ever since I went to Italy, I've been trying to find pizza and other food that tastes just like it's been in Italy. I have yet to find that until this place. Their rice ball is almost exactly like the one I had in Italy. The people here are so nice and the food is so fresh. The service here is absolutely amazing very attentive very catering. I've tried a ton of NY pizza places so my expectations might be a bit high. I had the plain slices and they were decent, not overly thick crust with a thin layer of cheese. Prices are more reasonable and they don't charge city prices. Garlic knots are a must have here, they give you a ton of tomato sauce as a dip. Like any pizza place, they offer a decent selection. Ton of seating here so no need to worry. No parking lot and paid meter parking. read more

I've never loved the pizza scene close to my place. I found Carlo's purely by accident. We were moving and needed a place that could deliver by noon to feed the movers. Literally everyone said they couldn't get multiple pies out that early. I kept expanding my search area until Carlo's said it wouldn't be an issue. Turns out the pizza was great. The movers asked for the number because they loved it so much. We have since ordered multiple times and everyone has been happy. Carlo took my first call and I promised him I'd be back. I lived in Middle Village my whole life and 13 years ago moved to Long Island! I stopped at Carlos pizzeria on one of the hardest days of my life it was around 9:00 PM with my family. I was at my Father's Funeral all day and never ate dinner. They asked me what I wanted and I told them about 5 slices for my family . Two of the workers or owners there have been there since I was a kid. I'm not sure of there names but I remember them. I always went there as a kid m, and also when I was living there with my wife. We always went to get dinner there because the food was always amazing! The guy behind the counter asked me if we were celebrating a party but I said unfortunately no I had my father's funeral and lived here my whole life and told my kids about the best pizza in the neighborhood. At the end they told me that it was on them no charge and that It was on the house! I was completely blown away and shocked and at a loss for words. This was truly an amazing act of kindness and not to mention the food was still as amazing as I remembered! we will definitely be back! read more

I stopped by over the weekend to pick up a large Sicilian pie ($20 for 18 inches) and 2 rice balls ($6 each). The pizza was very good and not burnt on the side at all. Just the right consistency of dough and cheese. The rice balls themselves were huge and was just ok. My wife and son said they had better. I do adore the customer service as they gave me extra sauce for the rice balls without me asking. Also I had asked for some empty small pizza boxes and they obliged no problem. Ordered catering from Carlos through their website. They a very good number of options for separate dishes. They also offer packages to help you decide the combination. I chose package 3: shrimp scampi, baked clams, chicken parm, eggplant parm, penne vodka, sausage & peppers, and cold antipasto. For the chicken, shrimp, and pasta you can tell them how you want it cooked i.e. pasta with meat sauce or chicken francese, etc. I also ordered a pizza pie on the side. They delivered right on time. The best plain slice you'll ever find. The most flavorful grandma slice, and a Sicilian slice to travel the world for. For someone born and raised in New York--having tried thousands of different pizza shops, very few have come close to the way that their pizza makes me feel. Made behind doors with those magic hands, talking about their golden slices gives me a rush similar to winning a large sum of money in a back-alley dice game. I have a couple of friends who swear this place has the best pizza in the Ridgewood/Middle Village area. I was just a couple of blocks away today so I stopped in to see for myself. I had a regular cheese slice and a Sicilian slice. The regular slice was on the small side and much thinner than I like. However, it was pretty good. The cheese to sauce ratio was spot on. Was in the area the other day and craving some pizza so we stopped in for a quick bite. I grabbed the upside-down sicilian and a pepperoni slice and my wife got a regular slice. We each also had a can of coke. The pepperoni slice, for starters, had a ton of pepperoni, which I do like. These slices were a bit greasy, which sometimes is overkill, however this wasn't a bad amount, enough to dip the crust in at the end. The pepperoni was a good slice, the upside-down stole the show for me. My wife enjoyed her plain slice as well. This was some quality pizza, but the staff made it for me. I have been eating food from Carlo's since I was in the womb (literally.) My whole family has been patrons of this place since their opening in 1986. I am writing this review on all of their behalves- Carlo's is undeniably the best pizza in New York. I will never ever get sick of their slices and chicken rolls. (I'm craving one right now, which is what inspired me to write this review to begin with.) Carlo's is also notable for their traditional Italian cuisine. I've never had anything bad in there. I have never had a bad experience with the service there. The employees are like friends and family. It boggles my mind how someone could give this place less than 5 stars. This place never stops to amaze me. FYI, this place is on Grubhub. The food is just as great as the staff is friendly and courteous. I have not had an issue. This is my local pizza place and their pizzas are awesome. The Garlic knots are great too. Regular, peperoni, grandma, and margarita pizzas are the best. The staff is friendly and very hardworking. One Halloween landed on a Friday (perfect storm for them) and it was so crowded I latterly had to throw my money at them :) But nothing is perfect. While their pizzas are great, their French fries are not. They use crinkle fires and are usually over cooked. To get around it and still get my fix of fries by ordering them from the diner down the street and pizza from Carlos. read more
