Haven't been here for years. Always liked their pizza. Not sure why I punish myself. Order at 5:00 told pick up in a half hour. My dad was passing there on his way over right at 5:30. Sweet perfect timing! NOPE 35 minutes after he arrived (when the order was supposed to be ready) no food. 6:10 (40 minutes late) they give my dad the order and let him know they only made half my wing order. Don't worry we will credit him for the other half. Pops asks for a receipt and that was a no go either. JOKE. FOOL ME ONCE...

Our Famous Deluxe Pizza - small 6 slices $13.95 Think personal size pizza! Small but mighty!! Anchovies not added.

As most people are safe at home during quarantine and carry out is our only option to eat out, I decided to help support local by ordering from Rosa's Pizza. I have always driven past their little plaza, but have not had the chance to try it until recently! I ordered regular garlic parmesan wings, regular Italian salad, and a small deluxe pizza. The garlic parmesan wings were amazing and fell right off the bone. It was so moist and flavorful, I was so happy I ordered them! They were even topped with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese! The salad was full of delicious ingredients such as tomato, cucumber, black olives, mushrooms, and mounds of cheese!! So fresh and even still fresh on day 2. When ordering the deluxe pizza, the lovely lady on the phone asked if I wanted the anchovies which came with it. I was glad she asked me that question because I honestly forgot it came with it. For someone who is not a big fan of anchovies, I opted out for it. The small deluxe pizza was on the pricer side for the size of the pizza, but it was delicious!! Think personal pizza size, 6 slices! Rosa's Pizza does not call it their Famous Deluxe Pizza for no reason! Each slice was full of even distribution of sauce and dough along with toppings, such as Pepperoni, Homemade Sausage, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Onions, and Olives. Great pizza if you haven't tried! Lastly, let me tell you how grateful the employees were that I was supporting their small business during these hard times. What's a better way to support local businesses and eat some fantastic food!!

Our server, Alecia, was absolutely top tier! She was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about all things Via Roma. I had originally looked over the menu online, but thanks to her salesmanship, we completely changed course and I'm soooo glad we did! She recommended the fritto misto to start, which was phenomenal. The house-made focaccia bread was perfectly baked and full of flavor. My dad, visiting from California, ordered the veal tortellini which was super flavorful and honestly something I would've ordered myself. I went with the Parmigiano with chicken, which was to die for! The chicken was perfectly breaded and bursting with flavor. My son had the braised short ribs, and the creamy polenta they came with was hands down one of the best I've ever tasted! I literally couldn't resist stealing bites! The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and the cocktails were fantastic! Via Roma is truly a hidden gem. I'd recommend it to anyone...whether you've been before and need to revisit the new menu, or if it's your first time, this place is worth it. Can't wait to go back and hang out at the Grotto, their speakeasy!!! Everything was perfect, start to finish!

There was a problem with our booth and asked for a change. The restaurant was relatively still open so they were kind to move us to another booth. We were provided menus and a Special NYE menu which we ordered from. Special Nite/Special Price. Then.... everything went downhill from there. Our server was excellent; however, our food was served Very Slowly.... 1st the App. (quick & good) .... then salad.... waited 20m. Our server inquired/realized we were still waiting.... finally arrived. Now 30m pass after our salad before our main entree. Yeah! Main entree, surf & turf. We asked for melted butter (warned it was only served w/lemon) and waited, asked 2x... then 3x. 20m later our melted butter arrived, but the lobster tail was cooled. We then asked for takeout on our remaining items (balance of dinner and dessert) ........ 10m... 15m.... finally the server came back realizing we hadn't had our food packed up yet. Took our food to the kitchen. Returned to provide our check, but we hadn't received our 'doggie bag' yet. Another 15m... Finally got our 'doggy bag', inquired about our dessert (she remembered!), paid check and was out in 2hrs. We watched others who arrived after us just placing their dinner order or receiving their entree. For a Holiday with reservations and Planned Spec Menu, they needed more kitchen staffing. Worst service I've received. Very disappointed. As we left, we overheard those waiting to be seated complaining about their reservation time and the host tried to explain that the guests are taking longer to eat than planned...... BTW - we did Not take it out on our server. She was Tipped well for the holiday.

(One complaint was the wood fired pizza. It's just not there. First, it's not New York Style. It's an attempt New Haven style, or more simply, Neapolitan. It wasn't bad, but something just wasn't there.). As far as the location, the outdoor patio is great. Unfortunately, we were seated at high tables which is all they have inside. You really have to have a mix of seating. The service was good. The ordering is self serve and the staff helps. The problem is, it's on a system that restaurant servers would use to place orders, so it's not very user friendly. They really should invest on a customer-facing ordering software that's more intuitive. Another thing about the service is that, even if they don't have actual servers, they really could have some of the staff just mill about and check on tables to make sure everything was ok. Last, the Brew Wall: AMAZING! Love sampling the beers, and easy to use. Would go back just for that, which is kinda the point.

They finally asked if we had been here before and the 2 kids I had with me had but I stated I hadn't. They asked if we would be having separate tabs or all together and I let them know that the kids would not be drinking as well as I wouldn't and it would be all together. They then stated seat yourself, allowed us to pick the table, brought us menus... and no other instructions. Unsure of how to order or what to do we finally got up and asked the single gentleman who was walking the dining room and looking friendly. We finally figured out how to order (you walk up and order). We got a Stromboli, perogies, mozzarella sticks, garlic knots, and a burger. Everything came out not at a time within about 15 mins except the burger took an additional 10 with no communication on things. A girl (Jillian) came by when we were nearly done and had a couple plates stacked and asked if we needed anything, I said boxes in a bit but the plates could be taken. She glared with a look of "you want ME to take this" and then took them. Overall not very welcoming except for the long gentleman helping everyone. The 5 girls at the host stand didn't seem to care about anyone except their selves. It wasn't too busy when we got here and not loud. As someone who has worked in restaurants with bars you could see the frustration on guests trying to pour beer (self serve) with no clue how and very little assistance offered. Lots of foamy drinks. Would also be great to not have a whole onion with the perogies

The main dish differs from chicken Parmesan or a veal, but the sides are always their green beans which are fantastic... A side of pasta with a large meatball and a side salad. I personally really liked their marinara sauce and I definitely would've gone back for seconds if that was an option. The people that serve here are always friendly and very attentive and that's gotta be tough because I think there were only three or maybe four servers and it's a large group of people probably 65 or more. After dinner, they always have a nice selection of desserts to try. I think I'd like to definitely come here on more of a personal setting and not a work function, but I still do like this place. The parking lot is huge and easy to get in and out of for the most part.

I don't drink anymore, so seeing a non alcoholic drink section was nice to see. I was made aware that the base of the Aplos was very herbal and tart. The first one brought to me was very tart. Very, very tart. I was not a fan, my dad was going to drink it, our waitress: Deja noticed and offered to have it remade. I accepted, the bartender came out to drop it off and explained how she changed it up. She stood by me and waited until I tried it. A bit much, it was better. The tartness was only at the end for a brief moment. They didn't have a specific gluten free menu, but Deja did tell us what was naturally gluten free and/or could be modified. A lot of the food is made in house. A lot of it looked appealing, but they had gluten free noodles that were not made in house. So I went with a trusted filet mignon cooked medium. The demi glace was an excellent touch. The potatoes were pretty good. The broccolini wasn't what I was hoping for. My parents dishes were much larger. Leftovers were had and enjoyed on a second day. I would maybe try the short ribs next time we would go. The building is very rustic and decorative. The bathroom is upstairs; an elevator is present is needed. A very interesting place. Staff and kitchen very accommodating. The prices are high for the amount you're given. Would love some in house pasta that is gluten free with an in house sauce. I was there primarily for the company. Not my favorite spot. I would be willing to go again.
