Love, love, love Jolly's pizza!! Ordered to-go 4 different nostalgic sized pizzas to try, and they were SO GOOD. Loved the sauce, toppings were fresh, and prices weren't horrible. Family was able to mix and match so we each basically got our own personal pizza with different styles to try. We got the peppy pig, primo supremo,1 run through the garden, and cheese. Only comment would be I wish the cheese had more cheese on it as that seemed a little thin compared to the dough, but otherwise it was delicious. The primo supremo was my favorite. Just be warned, when you order to-go via phone it totally is an AI service taking your order which is kind of the weirdest thing ever, but if you get passed that the pizza is great! read more

I was at shop where the people where eating a great looking pizza from Jolly's Pizza so I figured I would give them a try. When I was in the North Royalton area I stopped in at the Jolly's Pizza in a late afternoon. This location is at the intersection of Royalton and State Roads. The shop itself is relatively small; in the front is a service counter and the kitchen area, in the back is a little dining room and bar. The décor is pretty basic and the dining room is kind of dark. The menu is about what you expect from a Pizza place, pizza, salads, wings and apps. The pizza is available in 3 sizes and a bunch of specialty varieties. I ordered 2 pizzas to go; a Nostalgic sized Do-Gooder and a Sicilian Style Run Through the Garden. The pizzas were ready in about 10 minutes and looked and smelled great. I did grab a slice before the ride home and it was delicious. Both of the pizzas came on a thicker crust with crispy bottoms and sides and a nice pillowy inside, that made for a very filling meal. The toppings were fresh, flavorful and generous, these pizzas were similar to a Detroit style pizza. The Nostalgic is described as a 4 slice personal pizza, but it actually is about the size of good sized loaf of bread and one or two pieces were plenty for a meal. The Sicilian is a large 10 slice rectangle. The Do-Gooder is topped with white sauce, mushrooms, caramelized onions, ricotta, honey, basil, and scholar sauce; between the creamy ricotta, the honey and the scholar sauce this is a flavor bomb if a bit messy. The Run Through the Garden is a vegetable pizza with mushroom, caramelized onion, tomato, red pepper, banana pepper, olives, red sauce, and basil; very fresh and tasty about the only nit was that I would have liked more of the red sauce. The cheese on both pizzas were good, but a bit overwhelmed by the abundance of toppings. Jolly's Pizza delivers large and tasty pizzas, well worth a try if you want a thicker pizza with a lot of toppings. read more

NOT good service! Multiple problems: We ordered buffet & went up for 1st round, after waiting for water for 5 mins, the table behind us was sat and she brought waters to them about 10 seconds after they sat down. About 10 mins after we sat I asked her for ice b/c my wife burned 2 fingers as a pizza buffet tray collapsed & she tried to save it by grabbing corner thus burning em. Then she brought us ice water. Didn't say anything about the pizza mess or burn. Had to reuse our plates!! Never was brought new plates & none are stationed up there. Pretty sure that's a health violation. We requested a pizza with mushrooms and she said she would try to get one out. We went up to see if they had showed up after 10 minutes and luckily we got the last few slices of the pizza we requested since she never informed us it was up there. Our 1st trip up there - only 2 pizzas. Later up to 4 pizzas were laid out. Some of the crusts were a bit burnt & the ranch was way watery. The salads were pretty nice - full plate of lettuce with tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese. The chicken nugs were decent (plain, bbq, buffalo). The bread sticks were good. Pizza was ok... cheese was good but others were dried out so the sauce up there was helpful. I wish they had parm cheese at tables. We wanted to visit a brewery near home, but our original pick was not open. Thx to Telp for helping us find this gem. We sat at the bar around 5p on a Tuesday and enjoyed some new beers. Small seating area filled in around 530 for the buffet and the bartender/server got a bit jammed. I'll tell you what, the real prize of the visit was the pizza we took home for our boys. The woman on the phone was not happy because they close at 10 and felt that was too close to still cook food but said It would fine. When our golf leave arrived early at 8:39pm there was a written sign in sharpy on the door saying they closed early due to product outage. This was obviously placed on the door on purpose so they didn't have to cook pizza the last hour of business. We stopped in on the way to a Cavs game so we didn't have a ton of time to hang out, but I wish we did! The breadsticks, large pizza, and personal pizzas were all done to perfection. The golden crust was so good one person said, "It's like that good crunchy part of the pizza back when Pizza Hut was good in the 80s!" The beer was a good add on and I'll have to try more of their own brews. The service was prompt and checked on us without being too nosy. We also ordered the honey sriracha and let me tell you, it was a bit spicier than I imagined. I love spicy foods, but even this sauce was a bit too much for me. But still pretty good nonetheless. For the main event, we ordered a jolly size of the Do-Gooder pizza. I think the honey was unnecessary since it was a vegetarian pizza and adding in a sweet topping kind of threw me off. But I didn't want to change the chef's vision, so we kept it as it. I loved how the crust was crispy and the pizza was LOADED with toppings. Definitely more than enough pizza for 2 people! Neat little place. Small dining room and 9 stools at the bar, which is unusually high with the tall bar chairs not quite tall enough. No foot rail, bit too tall to rest feet on the floor, had to rest feet on the chair brace, but knees were way high and relatively uncomfortable (I'm 6'6", so maybe it's just a freakishly large thing.) Back on the positives, tap beer selections are outstanding. Had their own Westsider IPA and a North Royalton Blue Monkey pale ale. Both were very good! Service was a bit slow, but reasonable given the crowd and their newness. Ordered a custom pizza with pepperoni, sausage, onions and tomato. As others have said, the crust is thin, though chewy. I think of it more as a hand tossed crust. Donatos sets the standard for thin and this was not that. On a positive note, the sausage was legit. Not that rabbit turd stuff you get from some pizza joints. On the downside was the lack of pizza sauce. They only provided a drizzle over the top, not an even layer over the crust. My take on the crust is it's more like Focacia bread than a pizza crust. Also ordered the garlic cheese bread which was good and came with a side of pizza sauce that wasn't chilled. And an antipasto salad that was very good with some herb and oil dressing, though the dressing I had asked for (Scholar Sauce) had no flavor to it whatsoever. This pains me. I think their takeout pizza is some of the best in the county. But wow, a trip to their dinner buffet tonight was uninspiring and disappointing. I remember when they opened a few years ago, that buffet was well stocked with four different pizzas, a fresh salad bar, and delicious boneless wings. Tonight? Never more than two pizzas, quickly picked over; the salad bar is now sparse premade salads from the kitchen, not all you can eat; and the boneless wings were soggy and undercooked....when there were any even left. It was restocked only once while we were there, and only part-way. The pizza plates at one point were Completely Empty! I have never seen that at a buffet before. There were close to 20 people dining at the time. It was embarrassing. One server did her best to wait on everyone, not an easy task in a hungry room. I just feel a twinge of sadness for this once-vibrant place. They opened with such enthusiasm, with great ideas like old fashioned telephones to call in your order at the tables, and ice cream for dessert. Employees were smiling, the place had real energy. Not tonight. Just depressing. The dusty phones just sit on the walls like relics and the ice cream is long gone. I have to say, Jolly's Pizza is definitely not mainstream pizza. I think the crust is going to garner some polarizing opinions. We ordered two different pizzas. The crust is thinner, like thin crust, but it is extremely dense and chewy, with a crispy bottom and crust. It is so dense and chewy that my jaw felt like it was getting quite the workout after just two slices. If you like well-cooked cheese (and I do!), there is plenty of that, especially around the crust. Some might definitely call it overcooked. Both the featured cheese and the pepperoni pizzas had some chopped fresh basil which was a nice touch. The Antipasto salad was fairly large and good for sharing between two people. As for service, you pay an automatic 20% tip. That would be fine but no one is there to check on you. You dial up the phone or try to flag down someone when you need something. That gets old for simple things like more napkins, refilling the empty condiments, getting drink refills or even to-go boxes... To put it simply, don't expect good service. Overall, I think Jolly's is worth a try, but just not to our taste. Yours might be different. I will stick with Rosa's and My Pizzetta in the area. read more

This is a hard one...I giving them a BIG benefit of doubt on the fact that they just opened three days ago. The whole order over the phone thing is a bit of a disconnect with your servers and it took a really long time to get our food while other customers received theirs right away. Now the good part. The pizza and wings are REALLY good! The wings are twice baked and super tasty. The pizza is different but again REALLY good! We had a couple of their beers which were on point. Hopefully they turn things around with service. I am sure they will and be a huge success here in town. My new favorite pizza joint I've always enjoyed jolly scholar but as a west sider it was tough going all the way down to Case. Having this gem so close to us is going to be dangerous! Everything was wonderful. The staff was super helpful explaining the ordering process. The phones are so neat. The 80s vibes were in full effect from the game shows on the TVs to the parlor appearance. It was just a bonus the beer is good. But let's talk the pizza! Wow! There is a Jolly's carry-out 5 minutes from my home in Berea, on Sprague Road. I have now ordered 4 times, & each time I have been thoroughly pleased. I have sampled multiple sizes, shapes, etc & all have been delicious. I love the dough. The sauce is excellent, as is the quantity of cheese. The pepperoni is plentiful & of good quality.
