This week, I had a craving for deep dish pizza. One of the things I love about Chicago. I was nearby a Rosati's after a hair appointment. So,I-picked a Chicago style sausage pie. Craving pizza so saw this place and decided to give it a try. Went on a Sunday night about a half an hour before they were closing and they were busy. Not sure if they'd take a take-out order, they kindly did. The young man who took our order was very helpful and kind. It's a good-sized restaurant, the t.v.'s had sports on. There's even a bar and a large patio area for outdoor seating. Great place for large groups or parties. It took about 1/2 hour for our pizza to be done. The pizza was good, but pricey for what it was. We're not pizza connoisseurs so for us, there was no value in it. read more

Rosati's in Encinitas is a go-to for us. We did a create your own pizza, half pepperoni and half veggie, and both sides were great. That's how you know a pizza place is solid, when they can nail two completely different styles on the same pie. The staff is always a pleasure to work with. Good pizza but you're not doing your business any favors when the first time you call it goes through a voicemail that eventually hangs up on you and then you call right back, listen to the same VM, then a person answers, asks you for your order, you give it (simple, large thin crust pepperoni), the reply is "can I put you on hold?" and then you get ignored for five minutes (never comes back on the phone line). That's why I ate at Flippin Pizza tonight which not only did the phone call take less than a minute, but the pizza is as good, if not better than Rosati's. read more

Rosatis is a chain in Chicago and its good pizza but never my go to. I have been craving Chicago tavern style pizza for a while and when I found Rosatis I thought I just have to go and check it out! I walked in and there was Chicago decorations everywhere, flags hanging off the overhead of all the Chicago teams and a nice bar. There was a sign that said seat yourself but all the tables were occupied or had food on in from previous costumers, so I sat at a table with trash on it ans waited for thr server. She came back and told me to wait a second ans she will be back to clean my table but then she went and clean the other two tables before mine.. We ordered Lemon Pepper Wings and a 12 inch Meat Mania thin crust pizza. The quality of the chicken wings was very good, beautifully breaded and had a wet lemon pepper sauce on it but it didnt distributing very well. I would have wanted more lemon peper flavoring in every bit. The lemon peper seasoning was good bjt there wasn't enough. The Meat Mania pizza was pretty decent, the protein on it was pretty high quality ingredients. The bacon, pepperoni and Italian sausage were really good and the cheese was delicious, perfectly melted and plenty of it! I do wish it had more sauce on it and not so much bread crumbs... Pizza is good. Service could be better! The wait was long and we were sitting with three little kids so just keep that in mind. When we asked about how much longer we were met with a snarky attitude and trust me, we asked very nicely because we know it's not the servers' fault. They are the only place I know of with deep dish pizza. It's pricey but deep dish is very filling. Might not come back to sit in the restaurant but will definitely order for takeout. read more

Do you love Chicago Style Deep Dish?! Then 5 stars baby! Go to Rosati's! Wings are good too. We like to order ahead and then pick up. Inside it's a bar scene and a lot of fans watching the game. Staff is to the point and delivers on the taste. Easy parking and right off the main road. If you are waiting there you can order and then drop off your car next door. We love deep dish pizza and most of the time Rosati's has provide quality deep dish. Unfortunately. The last 2 orders have been a disappointment. Both times, the order was not as expected for a Chicago Deep dish should be. The sauce on the order was too runny and watered down with made the pie soggy. Both orders needed to be eaten with knives and fork which is not the end of the world, but does make for messy experience. I always want to give the benefit of the doubt during ordering times as staff can be overwhelmed with orders which would affect the order. The attitudes of those that work there matter when you are a customer. It seemed when the order was running behind because of what appeared as influx of orders during that time, the staff was annoyed. The front cashier tried to speed up the order, but I reassured her that it was ok and that it was more important to have a quality dish and not rush it. Fun casual sports bar with great pizza...with toppings and crust that are non-standard. Love love love the generous and tasty mozzarella cheese on the pies. But the breaded mushrooms...OMG. We ordered two baskets last time. Button mushrooms, medium batter, great flavor, hot hot hot. Best with ranch dressing. I had the Chicken Penne Pesto- delicious. it did however take nearly and hour to get the food out for 2 adults and a child. Will order takeout in future. It's been 5 years since I had been back since relocating. Same warm service and delicious food! I still remember the owner was so sweet and came to our large party years ago to make sure everything was great. This time we had an amazing waitress and wow the salad and spaghetti was delicious. Servings were also large and it's clear that they do try to keep the prices reasonable with lunch specials despite rising costs. I'm a big Italian food fan but surprisingly their salads are a favorite of mine. The vegetables are so fresh and bright and it's huge. Kind owners and staff! read more

Possibly the best pizza I've ever had and I'm 74 years old! The crust was tender and chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The cheese gave me a nice stretch and the toppings were fresh and plentiful. They have very reasonable lunch specials. I got the pizza slice with a soda for $10. The slice was HUGE! Oh Rosati's. I want to love you - but you make it hard. I'm getting these special offer emails from your marketing. When I go to your website to order, it doesn't accept the coupon. This has happened multiple times. I find myself on the phone debating with a counter person about the validity of the coupon... until a manager gets involved. Seriously, your pizza is excellent - but it's becoming too much hassle to even try to order with your 'offers'. Don't get me wrong, we've ordered many times without a coupon... but if your going to spam me and then renege on the offer... then I'm tapping out. read more

I'd read a bunch of my fellow Yelpers and it seemed legit and I good pie so yesterday I parked in the huge lot and walked in. Ordered a medium thin crust pie crispy and sat at the bar. Had a beer (huge beer menu) and watched sports. Pretty normal right? Then somebody said hey and can I move down one and right after I was part of this great sports discussion.... The Encinitas Rosati's is on my family's regular rotation- especially when there's a sporting event on TV that we want to enjoy while we eat. We've tried most things on the menu- from authentic Chicago deep-dish to calzones (and dough nuggets!) and salads- everything has been delicious. Not the cheapest joint in town, but I always feel like I'm at least getting some value for my buck here. Service has always been impressive. Keep it up and we'll keep coming! read more

I ordered a couple of Italian beef sandwiches and they were good. Being from Chicago I know my Italian beef. However, I ordered them to be delivered and 35 minutes after the set delivery time nothing had come. So I called the restaurant and found out that the delivery person did not show up. I wonder if I had not called would I have ever gotten my food. The manager said he would bring the food over which he did in a timely fashion. As a Native Chicagoan who grew up on Rosatis, this place is like a toxic relationship. I keep going back despite knowing I shouldn't. I keep hoping it will get better, but it only gets worse. Today we ordered a Fabulous Four thin crust, which is my favorite. Everyone was super nice when we picked up and the pizza was literally just out of the oven, piping hot when we got it home. But it was bland. Flavorless. I don't know what was missing but it just wasn't good. Don't get me wrong - the crust was great. The cheese, high quality. And the sausage, tasty.
