It's great how the dogs get alone.

Monty has been going to Roscoe's Retreat since he was a puppy -- he'll be 5 this year! This place truly gives you peace of mind when you have to be away. You can tell the dogs are well cared for and genuinely happy. David, the owner, is amazing with all the dogs. When Monty was younger and still in training, David went above and beyond to help reinforce what we were working on at home. If I ever asked him to focus on a specific skill while we were away, he always made sure to practice it with Monty. We sometimes travel for weeks at a time, and no matter where we are, I know Monty is in great hands. I always look forward to the updates David sends -- it's so comforting to see how happy and well-loved Monty is. Every time we pull up to Roscoe's Retreat, Monty's tail starts wagging and he can't wait to see David. That says it all! It's the best feeling knowing your pup loves where he's staying. Highly recommend Roscoe's Retreat!

    River chilling at Roscoe's Retreat

I have been going to Roscoe's retreat for over 4 years. My old dog Bear was the oldest client and now my 5 month old River is possibly the youngest. David and Robyn are like family and they take such good care of my dogs. I love getting updates and photos when my dogs are spending time with them.

The onboarding paperwork alone was surprisingly extensive. It honestly felt more like completing a college application than signing up for pet boarding -- long, detailed, and somewhat confusing. While I understand the need for policies and waivers, the process felt overly bureaucratic rather than focused on making pet owners feel comfortable and confident. Before boarding, we were told we'd be able to check in on our dogs via camera access, but no one clearly explained where to log in or which room they were staying in. At one point, we couldn't see our smaller dog at all. We called during desk hours to ask for clarification, but no one answered, and our call was never returned. When we picked up our dogs, they appeared shaken and not themselves. While they seemed to have been fed properly, their behavior afterward concerned us. One of our dogs -- normally very confident and social -- stayed unusually attached to me for about a week after pickup. When I later took him to his regular groomer, he had a panic reaction when I left, which is not typical behavior for him. I can't say exactly what happened while they were boarded, but their reaction afterward was noticeably different from past boarding experiences, where they usually come home relaxed and happy. Another frustration: their paperwork encourages customers to contact them directly before leaving reviews about concerns, which I tried to do. However, when I asked to speak with a manager at pickup regarding the missed calls and communication issues, my request wasn't acknowledged, and I never received a follow-up call. That lack of responsiveness was particularly disappointing. Because of these combined issues, I personally wouldn't choose this facility again and would encourage others to carefully consider their options when selecting a boarding provider.

I came across camp bow wow before I even got my dog and knew if I ever did this is where they would go. Well I got a dog last year and here we are. I travel often so I knew I would need a place to board my dog whenever I went out of town, i reached out last October to set up a day so my dog can go and check them venue out the process is easy all online , I brought my pup in on October 30th, 2025 for Her intake day, i was nervous she wasn't too happy at first I went back home and waited the few hours and came back to get her and she passed. We booked her for her first stay for Thanksgiving and into the weekend, the boarding process is a simple process, you bring their food and toys and pet bed so they feel more at home give them feeding instructions and give your fur baby some Love before you go, we paid for cuddle time so she got some 1:1 attention, I was nervous leaving her there for so many days but they have cameras you can watch to see them and that makes me more comfortable being able to see my pet. I chose this establishment because of The great reviews and camera access the staff is amazing you can tell they truly love animals, Mine can be a little snappy with people but they are patient with her and I appreciate that, I want to take her to daycare more to be more socialized around people and pets so we are excited to be apart of the camp bow wow family, thank you PP and I are grateful for you!

I gave them a call and was told to create an account and fill out an application online. Once I filled out an application online for an interview, I would be called to schedule. When I brought Teddy in, they notified me that they were going to do a minimum 3 hour interview, but was also welcomed to keep him until just before they closed around 7pm. His appointment was at 2pm and just kept him until 5pm. They provided cameras for all of the play yards (2 views - entire play yard or snout view). While watching the cameras, I saw them taking Teddy around the empty play area to walk around, then slowly they introduced different dogs one at a time to see how he interacted. After a series of different dog interactions, he was introduced to the main play yard with all dogs in similar size. The way their dog camp works is all day play. They said Teddy did well and passed the interview. I received a cute coupon with his face that said "welcome to the pack", which included a discounted rate for 3 full days at camp, 1 bath, & 1 individual enrichment session. I scheduled an all day camp a couple of days later to make sure he was acquainted with the space prior to boarding him for a full 7 days. I asked about doggy boarding and wanted the full Lux room to be able to see the room as he sleeps. My anxiety was in full effect because I've never left Teddy alone before and he was already an abandoned dog, so I didn't want him to think we just left him. The day came when we had to bring him in (day before since we had an early flight next day). My husband took Teddy in and I checked the app. It said "cabin" and not the lux suite. I asked my husband if he made sure Teddy was in the upgraded suite and he didn't make sure to ask. I called and spoke with the owner, Paula. She notified me he was indeed booked for a regular cabin, which did not allow me to see him in his room throughout the night. I voiced my frustration that when I booked, I wanted to upgrade to the lux room. She told me all the lux rooms were booked but one would be opening up 3 nights later. I was about to call all the different Camp Bow Wows to ensure I would be able to see my dog. Paula found an alternative. There was an enrichment room for enrichment services that also had a 24/7 camera. She moved things around and allowed Teddy to sleep into the space and notified her team so there wouldn't be any schedule disturbances. My heart felt more at peace knowing I would be able to see how he was doing. Fast forward and I can tell that Teddy was sad from the cameras, which is understandable. We received a call to notify us that he has blood in his stool. He's not used to all day play and I'm sure he was stressed that we haven't come to pick him up. I ended up adding enrichment services everyday until we picked him up. They sent me pictures during snuggle sessions and it made me feel at ease knowing he was getting a little extra love and attention. Or flight was delayed and I kept in constant contact with the text number they provided for me. They notified me that Teddy was welcomed to stay as long as he needed. Service was honestly fantastic. I was so happy with the open communication and reassurance that Teddy was okay or doing better. I'm thankful for the team for loving doggos so much. I kept an eye on those cameras like a hawk. They also state their cleaning supplies for any messes are all dog friendly

We were greeted by a very nice lady who lead us to the "luxury suite"; we were surprised by the warm facility which smelled of urine. The cat suite was spacious for a cat and enclosed with a full glass door; the toys and flooring in the room were zip tied together and frayed, the bedding and towers were covered in fur and dried food. I expect some wear and tear, it's not realistic to provide new toys and bedding for every cat but I do expect basic maintenance and cleanliness! Our biggest disappointment was location of the cat room , advertised as a calm space was directly next to the dogs; everything could be heard in the cat room, no sound proofing at all! This advertising for the suite was misleading and I never would've booked if I read honest reviews. I also need to recognize some positives, the response for scheduling was quick. once I reached out requesting updates, photos were sent the same day or next day with a follow up text . Great location if you're heading to/from the airport or staying on the strip. Upon pick up my kitten smelled of urine; we bathed him twice and had to discard many of his toys. Tip- schedule a tour of any facility, don't rely solely on reviews or conversations with the facility.

These aren't just dogs to me. They are my granddogs, and they are deeply loved. I know how much my daughter worries about them and how seriously she takes choosing someone to care for them. I want to be fair and acknowledge that my daughter should have insisted on seeing their accommodations before leaving them. She knows that now. But she was leaving town for a funeral and had to make a difficult decision. She trusted that a business whose job is to board animals would provide a safe and appropriate place for them. While she was away, she kept trying to calm herself down by reading reviews and telling herself, "They'll be okay. They love dogs. They're taking care of her." She was 10 hours away and even worried that she was bothering the facility by asking questions. She wasn't bothering them. She was paying for a service and asking about the well-being of her dogs. Once she started feeling like something wasn't right, she began asking questions. She repeatedly asked to see where her dogs were staying and requested a photograph of the accommodations. Those questions were ignored. Completely. She wasn't given answers or reassurance. She was left 10 hours away trying to convince herself everything was okay while her concerns were being ignored. Eventually, she trusted her instincts and went to get her dogs as soon as she could. Only after the dogs were home did she finally receive the photograph she had been asking for. When I saw it, I was shocked. The accommodations looked like a prison cell to me. I have to ask: does that look like the kind of environment that would make a worried pet owner feel confident that "they love dogs and they're taking care of her"? If the accommodations were appropriate, why was it so difficult to show them to her when she asked? My daughter also specifically instructed the facility that her dogs were not supposed to be around other dogs and that her two dogs, who are sisters, were not supposed to play together. Those instructions were not followed. Being told afterward that those things were "allowed" does not make it acceptable. Allowed by the facility does not mean authorized by the owner. My daughter knows her dogs. She gave those instructions for a reason. And this is what concerns me about other animals. What if the next dog is frightened, reactive, elderly, medically fragile, or simply doesn't tolerate unfamiliar dogs? What if an owner specifically says their dog must remain separated and that instruction is ignored? An unexpected interaction can turn into a fight in seconds. Another family's animal could potentially be seriously injured because someone decided an owner's instructions were optional. My granddogs came home healthy, and I am incredibly grateful. But nothing bad happening this time does not make the decisions acceptable. You shouldn't have to wait for an animal to be hurt before safety and an owner's instructions become important. I am also very concerned about the difficulty my daughter had communicating with the facility. When you have someone's animals in your care, there should be a clear and reliable way for the owner to reach you, especially during severe thunderstorms when you know one of the dogs is terrified of thunder. My daughter wasn't being difficult. She was being a responsible pet owner. I'm thankful my granddogs are home. But I'm angry that my daughter spent so much of her time away trying to convince herself her dogs were okay instead of receiving straightforward answers from the people she was paying to care for them. Trusting the facility without seeing everything first may have been her mistake. But once she became uncomfortable and started asking questions, those questions should have been taken seriously--not ignored. To every pet owner reading this: ask questions. Insist on seeing the accommodations. Don't apologize for wanting to know where your animal is. Don't worry about bothering the people you're paying. And if something feels wrong, listen to your instincts. You are trusting someone with a life you love. My granddogs will never go back. I sincerely hope other pet owners learn from this experience before they find themselves miles away, trying to convince themselves everything is fine while their instincts are telling them otherwise. Our animals cannot speak for themselves. We have to speak up for them.
