Still my absolute favorite pizza joint in CR area. The Motown crust with pepperonis and jalapeños is my go-to and it blows my mind every. single. time. Every time my family comes to visit they ask if we can get Roscoes, and I just can't say no. The amount of melty cheese is the perfect crust to cheese ratio, and they don't skimp on toppings. I also love that the sauce sits perfectly on top of the cheese because the crust doesn't soak it all up like normal pizzas to the point where you're missing that tomatoey goodness. Pizza is a food group in our house, so we were happy to try Roscoe's for the first time. I've lived in Cedar Rapids a couple of times during my life, but never had the opportunity to try Roscoe's until we were visiting family over the weekend. I ordered one of their veggie pizzas, as I'm a long-time vegetarian. The pizza was loaded with fresh tasting toppings and I ate a small all by myself (it was a thin crust pizza). If I ordered this again I'd try it on a thicker crust. I love my crust. We ordered several other pizzas and everyone seemed to enjoy them. Pricer than other establishments and Roscoe's has shorter business hours. Recommend. Eat local. read more

She needs to review the pizza, not sound like a moron with a grudge. Even she liked the pizza! I will agree that the pizza is a bit pricy but tasty pies always are. Roscoe's uses a good quality cheese as well as sausage. They put on a TON of pepperonis. You get a lot for your money. If you want a cheap WallyMart pizza then this isn't the place. Got take-out on a Saturday night. We ordered a New York style thin-crust and a Chicago style deep dish. Both pizzas were very good - but not what we were expecting. The NY style was a super thin cracker crust.. Kinda like Chicago style thin crust. The deep dish was really just a hand tossed style crust - like you'd get at a chain place. If you don't mind that the styles are different, the pizza was very tasty! I will go here again but maybe try their mo-town crust next. read more

Decent pizza, overpriced, but good. Chicago style is not that great. I've spent a lot of my time in Chicago, this pizza doesn't even hold a candle to any spots there. Zoeys in Marion has got a good Chicago pie, even Sam's pizza makes a better Chicago. The Detroit is good, and the thin crust is good. Was not a fan of the atmosphere in this place. Not everyone is a baseball fan......or a j-hawk parent. Shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to schools on the area. read more

After several recent visits to Roscoe's, my wife convinced me I was too harsh in my earlier review and an update is in order. As I said before the pizza is awesome, one of the best in the area - certainly the best in west CR. Our current fav is the NY thin crust for its crispy crust. The sauce on top and caramelized edge to the Brookville pizza is tasty but the crust tends to get a bit soggy when baked in a pan. We've found the atmosphere to be more lively on Tuesday nights for the half price pizza special. They have a few local craft brews on tap and after a few of them, even the "man cave" dining room seems more appealing. It must be the lighting. :) read more

I got the chicken bacon ranch pizza and it was absolutely amazing. The owner was very welcoming and let us know of the half off large pizzas on Tuesday so we were able to get more for less. This being the first time, I was unaware that they use plastic plates. It seems a bit tacky. read more

Owner ruined great family outing ---although the pizza was pricey we liked it. Enough so that out party ordered another Brookville pepperoni as soon as we tried the first one. It's. Sat. and we can tell the carry out is busy so we don't even sweat it when our cheese bread appetizer comes out 10 minutes after out pizza. But 45 minutes later we are still waiting for the additional pizza we had ordered and paid for. The owner was there, kept looking at us when we wound look around to see if anyone was going to assist us but he'd go right back to talking to a table of friends. When we finally decided to go and just get our money back we politely asked if it ever got made and when he confirmed it hadn't been we asked for a refund on that one and he began acting like we were trying to rip HIM off. First off, my family has enjoyed this pizza for years. We recently ordered for carry-out. I was surprised to find out that they were not practicing curb-side delivery as they had been at the beginning of the pandemic. When I went to the payment/pickup counter a woman came and stood right next to me to sign something. I noticed that she was not wearing PPE so I moved to the other side of the counter. That's when I noticed the party of 10 or more people she was with that were seated right next to the pick-up counter. Not a single one of them was wearing a mask and they were in very close proximity to one another. Then I looked to the kitchen. None of the staff or cooks were wearing masks or gloves either! I quickly got my food and got out of there. I love their food and I really want to support this local small business, but I am appalled by their lack of safety measures. I have to admit the pizza was good- great kids working there and the brookville thin crust was the way to go. We usually order to go and swing by to pick up this time we were close and stopped in to have a beer and took out pizza home, sorta bummed we did- super loud pretty busy but what bothered me the most was watching an entire volleyball team back in the food area making their own pizza in their game uniforms long hair along with all the other paying customers pizzas. I had Roscos for the first time this evening and was highly disappointed. They say it is the same great pizza just a different name I couldn't disagree more. The pizza was not good and very small for the 18.99 for one topping it was unreasonably priced for the taste and size. I also got an order of wings which were chewy and the flavor was off. The cinnamon bread couldnt have been worst, it was hard and you could barely taste the cinnamon at all. I wont revisit, so disappointed I wasted my money on this meal. read more

I'm giving it a 2 star only because the staff was really friendly and the time estimate for pickup was spot on. I ordered pizzas with the caramelized crust. They don't cut them for pickup because they dont want the crust to get soggy. They will also run all over your interior when you drive home. Worse yet, one of the pizzas had all the toppings half slid off so I had a cheese pizza on one side and a mess on the other. Tip: when you pile ingredients on top of sheets of ham, theres nothing to stick to and it slides off. It also steams the crust so it was still soggy. Like stale saltines with cheese and sauce on them. I tried to get past the pile of soggy pizza because I was starving, but there really was nothing else to improve my opinion. Small, expensive, soggy. At least with Dominoes it's predictable and 1/4 the price. Maybe if you eat there it would be better, still bland and ordinary and expensive but better. Unfortunately I won't find out. read more
