I'm visiting from California so I wasn't sure what to expect. I will say the pizza is really good, but very expensive. I just paid $93 for a sausage pizza, a pepperoni pizza, and a combo pizza. Another thing that surprised me was they don't accept Apple Pay (or Google whatever it is). It's 2026 and you can't tap to pay with your phone. When I'm paying $93 for three pizzas, you think they'd be able to modernize their system so you can tap to pay with your phone. Over eight years ago, I could tap to pay with my phone in a tiny grocery store in Croatia, but I can't tap to pay at Tomaso's. The fact that the restaurant is unclaimed tells you how much they care about customer feedback. read more

The only thing I miss not living in Cedar Rapids is being able to get this pizza on a regular basis. The stores are no nonsense places that focus more on making great pizza than on atmosphere. Any of the crust are a great base for the rich tangy sauce loads of toppings and goey cheese. I particularly like the Detroit style with the edge of the crust coated in crispy cheese. Any style you go with is a good choice. It costs a little more but you get what you pay for. read more

Stopped in first time tonight. We ordered 1 pizza with sausage and onion on half, ham and sauerkraut on the other half. When it came out it was sausage/mushroom and ham/pineapple. Bottom line, no apology, no price adjustment, no offer to make us the correct pizza, no coupon for next time, nada, nothing. Amazing pizza! Taste like something you would get in New York. They don't cut it the normal slices way so there are some middle pieces with no crust. We also got smoked wings which were also very good. And johns white ale beer really hit the spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Decors from the early 2000's with some town history. Highly recommend if you are nearby. read more

Not traditional Chicago Deep Dish pizza : The menu don't specify that it's not " Traditional Chicago Deep Dish" If you're Chicagoan don't trust " Chicago Deep Dish" saying in area. Ask for Stuffed Chicago Deep Dish Sausage doesn't have fennel seeds or flavor of traditional Italian sausage. This pizza place says that they have delivery. They're pick up only takes about 20 minutes but they still stop their deliveries OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF BEFORE THEY CLOSE. They don't have it listed anywhere online, which makes it very inconvenient. The person we called had no clue that they did this, so even the employees didn't know they stopped taking deliveries so early. So messed up that even the employees didn't know about this, they obviously don't care about customers if they're trying to dupe them by having no delivery so early, especially on weekends? read more

Service was great. Staff was extremely friendly. They have Chicago Style, Detroit Style, and Thin Crust Pizza. Their thin crust isn't like a traditional thin crust. Somewhat thick, actually. Detroit style is delish. Wings are awesome and smoked on the spot. Salad bar needs a little work. Lettuce hasn't been the greenest when I've been there which is a little scary :-/ read more

So I had to go half way across the continent to get a decent pizza and ya know what, it was worth it. My sister took Katie and I to this place and I was thinking "pizza, big deal". After spending a lifetime being a little brother I'm quite use to being wrong. Their mission statement is "MAKE GOOD PIZZA" and they go above and beyond that. We ordered two Mombo Combos one Chicago style and one Detroit style and both were perfect. The crust on both were exactly the way God meant them to be and the sauce (with spices from Frontier Herbs - Norway, IA.) was worthy of it's own national holiday. I didn't have a chance to try the NYC thin crust but in my mind I'm sitting there right now enjoying a slice. It's no wonder that the local paper voted them best pizza in the area four times. Called my order In on center point rd and it was repeated back to me and my husband picked it up no sausage. The ladie put it back in oven just through the sausage on top and cooked it again. My pizza was horrible. Called and complained and she called me a liar and said I didn't order sausage. I called and ordered a taco pizza. My wife went and picked it up. They gave us a "mombo combo" instead. We both called and they said I was wrong. I'm not sure how she confused the two orders but instead of apologizing they just disconnected. I didn't even ask for them to make the correct pizza, at that point I just wanted an apology. Love this pizza! My boyfriend always raves about Tomasos pizza so when I was in Cedar Rapids for work, I decided to try it for myself. I do have to admit, my for this pizza is their Detroit style crust - I've had their NY thin and it was good but I've had similar at other pizzerias. I've had their sausage and pepperoni and taco on the Detriot style crust and cheese and pepperoni on their NY thin. The sauce has a nice bite to it and the toppings are always fresh and delicious. I utilize Tamasos when I host educational lunches for some of my customers in the CR area and they are always excited to see Tomasos pizza boxes in their break room :) read more

We ordered two large pizzas to go last night to take to a party. One was a thin crust with 1/2 Canadian Bacon & pineapple and the other half sausage & onion. The 2nd pie was a Detroit crust with sausage, mushroom & green pepper. The thin crust was by far the most popular which surprised me because I'm a fan of the Detroit style pizza. However this one was was very thick - just too much bread. Good food is all about balance and the bread just over powered the toppings. I've had much better at Tomaso's in the past. Our bill for this OK pizza experience came to $44. Holy pricy pie Batman! read more

Detroit and New York pizzas are some of the best values in town. I'd recommend avoiding the lunch buffet because it takes them a long time to cook the pizzas and there's always a crowd, but dinner is a great deal, just expect a 25-30 minute wait (physics places a bit of a damper on how fast that delicious pizza will bake). One last caveat: the pizza is probably a good 25-30% more expensive than most competing restaurants, it's that good, but it's also that expensive. read more

My family and I went here yesterday when my grandparents came to town. The food here is stupendous. I got a Detroit style sausage pepperoni pizza which I highly recommend. It didn't take very long to cook, about 25 minutes and it was done. The only negatives about the restaurant were its poor atmosphere and employees who weren't very friendly. I went there for lunch last week. I paid 12.00 for the all you can eat buffet. They never had enough pizza on the buffet to feed everyone. I got 3 pieces and barely made it back to work because I had to wait so long. You need to either lower the price or get the food out for the customers!
