All I can say is Pizza Daddy was still open after 10PM and was able to deliver to the restaurant - 16th floor of the Doubletree hotel and their pizzas were amazing. Gotta go with the Hot Daddy pizza infused with all things hot (but not pull out your tongue hot), Chicken Alfredo pizza, Taco pizza and a traditional pepperoni/cheese combo pizza. We ordered two calzones for delivery at about 5pm. The good news: they arrived hot, on time, and were absolutely delicious. I got The Works, and the toppings, cheese, and crust were a perfect trifecta of garlic-y Italian flavors. My husband got a simple sausage and pepperoni calzone, and his was scrumptious as well. The bad: They gotta find someone else to answer the phone and deliver the pizza. My husband ordered over the phone and the employee actually said "OK, whaddaya want?" Also, the pricing is so weird. There are no prices listed on their website so we just went in blind. We were quoted $30 on the phone, but it was $32 on the receipt. Neither person we dealt with said "thank you" at any point. I don't expect red carpet service from pizza delivery in CR, but the most basic customer service skills are lacking. Overall, we will order again because they have the recipe for great calzones, and there are limited delivery options in our neighborhood. But we won't be thrilled about it. read more

To visit the website one would be led to believe the pizzas are prepared with the freshest ingredients and fresh made hand tossed dough. Believe me...this is not the case at Pizza Daddy. Pre-developed pizza crust aka "The Death Disc" had no resemblance to the fresh tossed wood fired dough shown on the website. To call it cardboard is to define it and it cant be defined as anything but bad! This product was designed with one thing in mind...."how to get the most profit using anything that Dupont has to offer. My experience was with the "Meat Lovers". The sausage reminded me of rabbit droppings...a "no need for refrigeration product from Sysco" i'm sure. All and all a very clever website with a very disappointing product. This has got to be one of the best pizza places I have been to in the Cedar Rapids/ Iowa City area. The owners really have the ratio perfect, the crust is fluffy, yet thin and crispy, the sauce they use for a base has a wonderful blend of herbs that really sets it apart from many other places, and while eating it you don't feel as if you are going to choke on too much cheese, not to mention there is just enough toppings to taste it in every slice without being greasy. The location of this place is a little sketchy, in fact a man walked into the place and tried to sell my friends and I, a bottle of liquor although one of us was a underage. However, once the owner heard the commotion he came out and handled the situation quickly and was extremely apologetic.
