She is incredibly knowledgeable, and most importantly, she saved my dog's life. I will always be grateful to her. The entire staff is unbelievable as well. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and truly cares about the animals they treat. I've been bringing my dogs here for many years and have always had a wonderful experience. Ok, well since I'm not 100% sure if I did a review of our first visit to Rose City earlier this year, with us having had another visit this past week, I'm going to do two reviews here. Back in late January we did a Preventative Care visit with Dr. Bleifer, along with having our kitty's teeth cleaned. Dr. Bleifer was wonderful as was her staff. With Mimi quite possibly never having had her teeth cleaned (at least to our knowledge--we got her when she was 5) I was concerned as her teeth showed lots of buildup. Dr. Bleifer told me not to worry, that she would treat Mimi like she was her cat. Following the surgery, one of the techs, Liz, provided updates reassuring us as to how our Mimi was doing, and when to pick her up. Liz was very sweet. On our second visit to Rose City last week, we had an appointment with Dr. Khorikyan, who, like Dr. Bleifer was also wonderful. We brought Mimi in due to her being listless, off her game, and hardly eating. With our kitty being around 12, I was very concerned. While we're still waiting for the results of a stool sample, we once again had a pleasant experience with Rose City's staff. Nice people. This is an excellent Veterinary Hospital. This place is amazing. My primary Vet. Dana Bleifer was such a professional. I opted to get my sog Courage a Vasectomy rather than a traditional neuter. She was able to answer all my questions and put me at ease about the surgery. The entire staff was so accommodating, they knew I was traveling quite a distance for this procedure since its still so new. They prioritized Courage and I was able to pick him up well before the scheduled pick up time so I could handle the long drive back. Christine was also awesome, she gave me text updates the entire time he was pre and post operation. Courage is doing amazing. The scaring is so minimal you can barely tell he got a Vasectomy. We first came to Rose City Veterinary Hospital when our Havanese puppy, Bailey, was just 8 weeks old. We were looking for a vet that respected homeopathy and holistic care -- and we found that and so much more. That was 14 years ago, and we have never once been disappointed. If I could give ZERO stars, I absolutely would. I brought my cat in for an emergency--he wasn't breathing well, wasn't eating, and was clearly declining. This clinic charged over $1,000 just for basic exams and blood work, and then made me call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center for another evaluation, which cost an additional $100. Despite all of that, they still couldn't tell me what was wrong with my 1-year-old cat. They kept him in the back while they spent over an hour talking to poison control, yet they provided no treatment plan. They didn't even offer IV fluids, which is the most basic form of supportive care. After two days, I had spent $1,000 and received no answers, no medications, no fluids--nothing. I truly thought I was going to lose my cat that night. At one point, euthanasia was mentioned as an option, yet they admitted there might be a solution--to what? They couldn't even identify the problem, and I made it clear I couldn't keep paying for endless labs. The veterinarian simply stood there and told me it was my decision. If I had put my cat down that night, I would have made the biggest mistake, and the thought of that is heartbreaking. The next morning, I went to a different vet, and the experience was completely different. As soon as the vet saw him, he said he didn't like my baby's breathing, and immediately hooked him up to IV fluids. They gave him a couple of injections, started supportive care right away, and didn't waste time or money. They didn't question anything--they just acted and said, "Let's stabilize him while we figure it out." They charged less than half the price, sent us home with medications, and within 48 hours my cat was 80% back to normal! I will never bring my pets to this veterinary clinic again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Too expensive, unhelpful, and ultimately did nothing to care for my sick cat. read more

Dr Serna's lack of experience killed my dog. I brought my Min Pin in for pneumonia, she treated her for two days, upon picking her up Dr Serna said " gee, I don't know what happened, she was fine a little while ago " - my dog was clearly fluid overloaded and struggling to stand up and breath. I'm an ICU nurse and couldn't believe my eyes- to ice the cake the vet suggested I take her home and bring her back in the morning - unbelievable. Penny wouldn't have survived the night. I asked her how long she had been practicing- her response " since May". This was in October. Her lack of knowledge clearly harmed my dog. I euthanized her moments later. I have a working-line Dutch Shepherd, and finding a vet who understands his needs has been incredibly difficult. At other clinics, I've been told that my dog needed to be sedated or taken to the back without me present--none of which I was comfortable with. Dr. Khorikyan and the team at Rose City were absolutely incredible. They truly listened to my concerns and allowed me to be a part of the exam process, which made a world of difference. Being able to handle my own dog during the visit made everything go smoothly, and I really appreciated the respect and patience they showed us. On top of the outstanding care, their pricing is very reasonable. I was charged for an exam, bloodwork, and a urinalysis, and the cost was far more affordable compared to most other vets. Absolutely Disgusted with Rose City Veterinary Clinic - DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR PETS About a month ago, I took my dog in for his annual physical. Rose City told us everything looked fine--except they said he URGENTLY needed dental cleaning/extraction surgery. Of course, as concerned pet parents, we agreed. We wanted him healthy, and we trusted them. Big mistake. On the day of surgery, they assured us everything went smoothly and sent us home. Within days, our dog began vomiting (which we were told is to be expected) and developed alarming wheezing whenever he got excited. When his breathing worsened, we rushed him back. After X-rays, they told us his esophagus was swollen and then casually suggested it "might be a tumor" and that he needed yet ANOTHER invasive procedure--a biopsy via surgery. To make matters worse, they told us to come back for an endoscopy the next day, and STILL sent him home despite his critical condition. On our drive back home, his breathing crashed. By the time we rushed him to the ER (shoutout to the REAL heroes at VCA Animal Specialty Group), he was blue and had a high temp. Rose City KNEW they messed up--they immediately sent his records as a "transfer" the moment we got angry on the phone. The ER vets quickly discovered the truth: our dog did NOT have a tumor. Instead, he had a collapsed esophagus, regurgitation, aspiration, and pneumonia--conditions most likely triggered by Rose City's botched surgery and complete negligence. No biopsy, no endoscopy was needed. Just proper care, which Rose City never gave. The ER doctors are fighting to save his life, but he could have died if we'd trusted Rose City's dismissive, money-hungry recommendations. On top of that, the vet at Rose City spoke to us in a vague, condescending tone, dodged our concerns, and refused to take responsibility--even when we suggested THEY should cover the costs of fixing their mistake. We were loyal clients for years. All three of our dogs were patients here. Never again. Rose City is not only careless but also predatory, pushing unnecessary and dangerous procedures to pad their profits while letting pets suffer. If you love your animals, take them literally anywhere else. Rose City Veterinary Clinic is disgusting and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

I took my cat in today 10/24/25 for a biopsy on her tongue and dental cleaning while under anesthesia. I told Dr. Desosa to perform the biopsy and clean her teeth only, and if further treatment is needed to call me first to discuss. I never received a call so I assumed everything was ok. I wasn't going to spend a lot of money on my cat until the biopsy results returned. When I went to pick up my furbaby not only did they not call me they extracted two teeth, and administered a flea treatment that I declined in the text they sent me asking if I wanted her treated for fleas. The text said Mhamba was coved in fleas, theres no fleas in my home, Mhamba is an indoors cat along with my 3 other furbabies, however I was charged $1400. I wasn't spending this kind of money on my Furbaby until I got the results back from her biopsy. Now I'm uncertain if a biopsy was done. I don't trust this place, I don't know how they really treated my furbaby. They created a huge bill for me and I was told she didn't need a follow up appt. Our Red Doberman Nova received the ear cropping service at this hospital on 10/1/24 and it was nothing short of the best most professional experience hands down. We had the pleasure to go through the ear taping process for approximately 4-5 months with Gloria and Leslie (I hope the spelling is correct). And the results are astounding!! On August 4,2024 had to take her to the Emergency room where we live in Antelope Valley where she was bleeding internally. Had Emergency surgery my poor girl. This week my 2-1/2 year old golden retriever, Summer, underwent an ovarian sparing spay by Dr. Dana Bleifer. Dr. Bleifer also performed that sterilization surgery on my now angel golden girl, Ellie, 11 years ago. At that time, I could only find 2 vets in SoCal who were doing that, and Dr. Bleifer had been doing them for 10 years! She is a fantastic vet, specializing in reproduction, and owns the practice. It's an 1-1/2+ drive from our house and that is the only downside. Both my husband and I were impressed with her very amicable personality and eagerness to spend as much time as needed to answer our questions. As before, the surgery went smoothly. We were so glad to learn that she does the first surgery of the day on the dog who has traveled the furthest. And that turned out to be our Summer. Thankfully, Summer was discharged an hour or so before the traffic gets bad so we breezed our way home. During Summer's stay, we received texts telling us when she was in surgery, how it went, and when we could pick her up. We received detailed instructions post recovery and everything has gone well. Amazingly, Dr. Bleifer uses internal stitches that self dissolve so no post-op appointment is necessary for removal of stitches. Dr. Bleifer has a very congenial staff. They made it so easy to make an appointment, get copies of her records etc etc. We'll be back in about a year when our Winter girl will also undergo an ovarian sparing spay. I went in to have them check my dogs anal glands I was told by Melanie that when she stuck her finger up there, it was empty. So I assumed there would be no charge for the expression as I was already being charged a fee for her time ($19.50) and she told me that they would still charge me the same price as an expression charge. When I called the office, I was told the same thing by the office staff. When I asked her how much it would cost she said to hold on and she would check. After waiting on hold for over 10 minutes, my call was disconnected but the office staff member did call me back and said she tried to check with the office manager who handled financial issues but she couldn't find her. She said no one had ever complained about paying $40.05 for this before. She said Dr. Bleifer, the owner of the clinic, told them to charge regardless of whether they did an expression. I told her to let the doctor know that I was a very unhappy customer. I guess it's a learning experience for me. Last time I learned when I took my dog in because she was sick without an appointment, even though I waited for over an hour to be seen because of that, I was charged an extra fee because it was an unscheduled visit. I also did not get a call back from a doctor when I had questions about when/how to transition my dog off the Proviable paste that was recommended for her diarrhea. It appears that even though I am an established customer and have been going to this vet for 4 years, customer loyalty has no value or advantage over brand new customers. read more
