The blanket is from VCA TLC....I asked them to take off the cone so he could pass as himself, and they did.

This is a review for VCA TLC off Fairoaks on Huntington Drive. The vets are great here. Dr Nguyen especially ..she took care of my sweet tame feral who came in with a swollen belly and was triaged as in critical condition. The tests they did were appropriate, although my poor old guy got vocal and I could hear him complaining even from a room across the hallway. The vet was forthright about his options, my options, and although he had the will to eat and was drinking water, he was riddled with cancer. So I decided to let him go. The vet the entire staff I encountered was kind and considerate empathetic and I was able to say goodbye and hold his head and I was able to walk him to the gates of rainbow bridge. There was a sympathy gift of flower seeds to be planted in his memory and water and tissue for me. I was moved by the thoughtful gift. The tech who came to receive my boi was gentle with him as he carried him away. My only caveat and why my review is a maybe recommend -- cost. It was over $2000 for all the tests. AND about $400 for euthanasia and cremation. I suppose I could have just put him down without the testing...and perhaps we could have discussed that before I put up the $2000. Deposit....but...I believe I would have chosen to know for certain his diagnosis and prognosis. So it was a cost I was willing to bear. Thank you all at TLC for your professionalism.

Came in Sunday morning 8am in a panic thinking my dog had ripped a stitch from her surgery ten days ago. The receptionist was so kind and explained everything super well. She explained it was the middle of their shift change so it might take a minute before I could be seen, totally understand. But the tech came out super fast, took my dog and returned super fast as well. She explained the vet said it was fine and I didn't have to redo the stitches, the wound will granulate and heal on its own. Most shocking of all they didn't charge me, not even an exam or walk in fee. I was so grateful and we were in and out of the clinic within ten minutes. Hopefully we won't need their services again anytime soon but if we do I'm relieved to have such a kind and understanding clinic close by.

A brave tech holding my naughty child.

Just wanted to update this review to give a shoutout to Makayla in hopes that VCA will recognize this tech's efforts because she goes over and beyond the call of duty. Today I had to take my demon cat in because she had a wheeze. Turns out she has asthma. This was the worst case scenario for us but Makayla gave us some peace of mind and now the treatment plan doesn't sound as scary as it did initially. She also took the time to watch as I gave Meow her meds because this is not the cat you can pill no matter what you do. Surprisingly, the first option we tried was a success. Nonetheless, she was willing to stay with me till we found a method that would work to administer Meow's meds. Since the first day I met Makayla she has done nothing but go out of her way for Meow, which is no easy task as Meow is a very difficult pet. She's very kind and patient (with both the cat and my anxiety-ridden self), as well as thoughtful. Today nobody showed me what the inhaler contraption looked like and with Meow's level of difficulty to treat, I was imaging something much worse than what the inhaler looks like. Fortunately Makayla asked if I had been shown one and since I had not, she brought it out to me. Wow, what a difference. Now I feel it's doable giving Meow an inhaler after placing the contraption over Meow to have her feel it out. I already ordered the Aerokat as well. This girl ALWAYS goes the extra mile for Meow. A big thank you to this tech and VCA, I know you read these reviews, so I hope you reward/recognize this amazing employee you have.

Dr Barnes and Dr Pickell are the best. We had one of our cats have a blockage in his small intestines. They were able to surgically remove the hair blockage and get Scrappy back to normal again. Very smart and compassionate people.

Bringing a newly adopted dog home from a shelter is supposed to be an exciting experience. What I…read moredidn't expect was learning that Rigly Blue had significant medical issues that weren't apparent when I adopted him. Those first couple of months were filled with multiple veterinary visits, questions, and a lot of worry. From the very first appointment, the entire team at Vet Villa made us feel like we mattered. They didn't treat Rigly as just another new patient coming in for a routine meet-and-greet. They took the time to understand his history as a stray, the challenges he was facing, and the care he truly needed. Over the past two and a half months, Rigly has spent a great deal of time in their care, and every visit has been met with genuine kindness, compassion, patience, and professionalism. It's clear that this isn't just a veterinary hospital--it's a team of people who truly love the animals they care for and are deeply invested in the well-being of pets in our community. I am incredibly grateful for everything they've done for Rigly Blue and for giving both of us the support we needed during a very unexpected start to our journey together. Thank you for treating him as if he were one of your own. ~N

Dr Evelyn is always thorough in giving treatment and answering all questions, though she now doesn't have many appointments available and has her other doctors take the vast majority of patients. Dr Li is ok but not as good as Dr Evelyn, he often does not follow up with test results and you have to track him down to get answers. Not to mention their prices are insanely high, even for CA standards. And when you finish a tech appointment, they just try to rush you out of there and hand your dog over, you have to really dig to get some information on your pet or how to use medication. The main issue is that Petsadena now directs calls to a call center operator with AI-like humanoids. Most of the time they don't even answer. If they do, they do everything in their power to avoid connecting you to the vet's office. Explaining the issue or leaving a message is useless, never get a return call. Really frustrating experience not being able to get connected to a human that can handle questions or issues. I have since found a new vet. What a difference 9 years can make, very unfortunate this is the way they treat long-term clients now. Will always be fond of Dr Evelyn as a 5star vet, just not the business practices Petsadena has resorted to.

It was our first time within the ACCESS network so we did not know that the Cardiology Department was separate from Internal Medicine and the Emergency Department. We didn't know that there were so many varying departments. It didn't set in that this was a specialty clinic not a traditional veterinarian office (even though "specialty animal hospital" is literally in their name...haha). The Cardiology Department was on the second floor in a building shared with other companies. The office was clean and peaceful. The women at the front desk were kind and patient. They answered our questions and were helpful. We were seen quickly in the consultation room and I love that the nurse drew a cute little picture with cat ears and whiskers, and put our cat's name on the white dry erase board that was outside of the consultation room. She listened intently to our concerns as it had already been confirmed that the referring veterinarian had provided our cat's health records. We fully expected to wait a while for the doctor since we were about forty minutes early but about five minutes later Dr. Cole greeted us warmly with a team of onlookers (supporting doctors, maybe interns too not exactly sure). Dr. Cole was patient and explained the process for examining our cat's heart health. He answered our questions and took our fur baby for the testing. Around twenty minutes later he and his team returned with the results. He explained the prescription medicine that would be beneficial for our cat and gave further medical advice for our cat. I really appreciated the transparency and clarity around the results. I felt relieved to have such a warm, competent and friendly doctor handling the care for our fur baby. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. Grateful to Dr. Steven Cole and ACCESS Pasadena!

When we came back, he was vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days so I took him to my regular vet and she told me to take him to the ER immediately bc he was severely dehydrated. I arrived here asap to admit my dog and see what's wrong. For the total price of $6251.15, we had 2 overnight stays with a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis and urinary bladder stones with elevated kidney lab values. The drs made it sound like Chase was going to die if he didn't get surgery within the next few seconds. She made it sound extremely urgent. Mind you, he never had any issues peeing prior to this so it was big news to me. She said he has a partial urinary blockage due to the bladder stones in his urethra but he was still peeing. The drs recommendations were to keep him to monitor him overnight and push for urinary catheter and surgery. I didn't agree to urinary catheter or surgery bc I didn't want to do anything invasive to him. They ended up doing the urinary catheter to try and push the stones back in however, they were unsuccessful and couldn't even put the catheter in bc they didn't have a needle small enough so it didn't fit thru his penile bone? So basically they tried and failed but I was still charged for it. Then they continued to push for surgery. Meanwhile all they did was give him anti-nausea meds and IV the whole time he was in there. I was all over the place like okay what should I do? He's my baby and I want the absolute best for him. I decided to finally just take him out the hospital and let him rest at home while finding another location for a second opinion. When I picked him up, poor baby peed like a racehorse for abt 2 mins straight. I have never in my life seen him pee this much and he is 6 years old! They must've kept him in there and not release him for potty breaks/walks the whole time. Vets and hospitals are expensive but this was unbelievable. A money hungry spot and way overpriced. I can't believe they charged 6k for nothing but meds to go home with. Never again.

They also offer nail trim for $30. More expensive than other places, but they do offer it. Overall, love this place! Highly recommend!

Reposting -I agree with many of the reviews here. Long post, but the ending is worth it…read more The pricing at this clinic is outrageous. The staff appear professional, but the entire experience felt like a slow, calculated attempt to upsell me on every possible test--most of which had nothing to do with the reason I came in. My regular vet referred me here because it was close to home, and my cat needed a partial ear amputation due to skin cancer. All I wanted was a quote. Instead, the doctor refused to give any estimate until I completed a list of "recommended" diagnostics. Stage 1: Bloodwork -- nearly $700. Then suddenly my cat "had a heart murmur," and I was told anesthesia could kill him unless I pursued more testing. Stage 2: Full-body X‑rays + EKG -- another $600. Results came back normal. Great. But then came the next push: a heart ultrasound, because "X‑rays can't show everything." At this point, I had to ask myself: Do I even have a real choice? If the ultrasound confirmed a murmur, I'd be stuck in a no‑win situation: risk anesthesia or let the cancer spread. It felt like a manufactured dilemma designed to pressure me into more procedures. The doctor even guilt‑tripped me with, "If it were my pet, I'd do the ultrasound." That was the moment I realized how manipulative this was becoming. By now I'd spent over $1,300, and the ultrasound alone was quoted at $450-$600. Finally, after all of this, I got the surgery estimate: $2,200-$2,700 for a small ear amputation (see pictures) The breakdown was absurd--nickel‑and‑diming for every tiny item imaginable. Friends urged me to get a second opinion. So I went to an animal hospital on Figueroa. That doctor listened to my cat's heart twice and confidently said there was no murmur at all. He immediately offered to perform the surgery and gave me the price on the spot. $500. Total. Including overnight stay, biopsy, and medication. I was stunned. And furious. After being told my cat had a heart murmur, after being pushed into unnecessary tests ($1,700), after being quoted thousands ($3,000 plus) for a basic procedure... another vet told me the exact opposite and charged a fraction of the price. Mind you this was the price 7 years ago. I walked away feeling completely misled. Fellow Yelpers, be forewarned: don't let friendly interactions fool you.

The vet tech asked questions about him and then dr. Niu came in to check on him. Dr. Niu recommended some procedures and food items to take home. But of course with a price. As of now, im just glad nothing too serious. Dr followed up the next day to check on klaus. So far he is getting alot better.
