We discovered this place a few months ago. It is now our go to place for Chinese. We've tried most Chinese restaurants in the area and they are by far the best. My favorite is the sliced spicy garlic chicken and my husband loves the Mongolian beef. The portions are very generous. The crab Rangoon are very creamy, so don't over do it. The wonton soup and hot and sour soup are also good. One thing we did not like is that their regular garlic chicken is cubed into tiny pieces. read more

Rose Garden--On the whole, the food was good and service was just fine. Nothing went horribly wrong, but I wasn't wowed (hence just the 4 stars). Pretty much your typical American Chinese restaurant. It's close to my work so I'll probably head back again before too long. I do like the slightly different menu items that vary a bit from the staples (some dishes incorporate mango, basil, coconut, honey walnuts, etc). I wanted to order the coconut chicken, which sounded delicious, but they were out of some of the necessary ingredients. :( I ended up having the tried and true sesame chicken, and enjoyed it. Nice nutty sesame flavor, and not too oily (which can very easily happen in dishes like this). The rice was pretty bland. My coworker got the basil beef, which she said was tender and tasty. The basil smelled pretty strong, but it's one of my favorite herbs, so I'm sad we're not on a food-sharing basis yet because I totally would have loved a bite! The decor is amusing. We recently started going here a lot more then we use to , close to home is always a plus ! Stopped in today to get an order of the Rose Garden Chicken and some hot and sour soup . The restaurant is always clean , service is fast and friendly . This place recently got new owners who did not change the menu much which is good . The Rise Garden chicken is so good , slightly spicy sauce , breaded chicken and vegetables. Portion size is huge ! The soup was not that fantastic this time around but I honestly think that it may not be exactly the same every time you go in , it could be hit or miss , I do wish they give you the crispy bits to put in the soup but they never have . We got two meals which was around $17 which is not bad and I had so much left over was able to bring some to work for dinner that night . So glad they are close by ! read more

We passed by the area and found this restaurant at Yelp. It is like most Chinese order take out places in small towns. The menu is similar. We ordered a family size triple delight which came with a bowl of brown rice, two bowls of sweet and sour soups, an order of six fried dumplings, and a hot tea. The fried dumplings were too well done and dried. The soup was good and the triple delight was okay. The place is very pleasant and tables are well situated. The diners can sit comfortably and enjoy their meals. The servers are polite and attentive. Most of the guests were seniors. It seems that the servers were very patient in taking orders. There is a huge fish tank at the back. One fish is swimming aimlessly inside the tank. Perhaps it enjoys seeing guests coming and going! I was told that it will not be served on anyone's plate soon and it is about four years old. read more

My very first experience with this restaurant was when my now boyfriend brought me lunch from here on a day that I was sick due to the weather change. It was such a sweet gesture and I was excited to try someplace new. He brought over some Hot & Sour soup and peanut butter chicken which comes with two crab rangoons. Since then, when we are figuring out where to eat and we want to stay close to town, we'll go here. Luckily I live very close to eat now, which could also be dangerous at the same time! In any case since that first day I tried their peanut butter chicken I have loved it. The hot and sour soup is a little on the spicy side for me, but a personal favorite of my boyfriend's. I have also tried their egg foo yon and it is very good as well. Overall, a decent place to stop for reasonable lunch. Went here with coworkers when we were in town for a work training. I got the garlic chicken lunch special and asked for it to be extra spicy. It came with fried rice, two crab rangoons and hot and sour soup. The soup was fairly good, as I am a rough critic when it comes to this due to having a hometown favorite for hot and sour soup. It was a decent amount of food for the price and fairly flavorful with lots of sauce. My only compliant is that it didn't seem very spicy. The food was just okay. Heads up, they do include two crab rangoons with the order. The crab rangoon and egg roll were nothing special, but were hands down the best part of the meal. The hot and sour soup was just spicy and no sour (and I like spicy). I ordered beef broccoli, and the sauce was overwhelmingly salty, the broccoli was mushy, and the beef was extremely chewy and full of fat. 100% yes eat here. Me and my boyfriend have been going here since we first started dating. It's "our spot" always our go to for date nights(which is almost once a week). The staff is super nice, food comes out perfect. When i say perfect, i mean the time in between appetizers/soups and your entree coming out, you have enough time to enjoy your starters without your food coming out on top of it -and if it does come out early, it most likely needs time to cool down. It's very consistent too, they found their recipes and cooking ways and it does not change from visit to visit. I always get the beef lo mien, I've branched out a couple times but that Lo mien is amazing. The beef is NOT rubbery and chewy like most Chinese restaurants, and you can taste the wok in the dish. I also get wonton soup-there is broccoli in it! Now with the COVID-19 restrictions they did Togo only. We still get it often and i swear the portions are even bigger, and the consistency is the same if we were to dine in. I saw a negative review about someone getting food Togo right when the lock down happened, saying it took them forever to make the food and what not. And i just want to say probably every restaurant struggled those first couple weeks so it's not fair to judge based off this global pandemic. This restaurant is at the TOP of my list. Go try the beef Lo mien, get it to go, go check out the new renovations they are doing. If you walk in with a newborn(like i did) they might even help you take your food out to the car!! Let me start by saying that I've been here a handful of times and the food was always acceptable. Nothing special, just decent chinese food. Went here on February 2 2019 and had a horrible experience. I ordered Kung pao beef. Wow. Where do I begin? It tasted like soap or bleach. The beef was super chewy, like gristle gum. After one bite I knew I would not and could not eat it. Explained it to the waitress and she went to tell the owner. Told her the exact same thing and she stood there staring at me, hands behind her back and tapping her foot. I think at first she was going to do nothing about it. I had to actually tell her "look, I am NOT going to eat this". She remarked "oh some people don't know what bamboo taste like." Then she said the water chestnuts might be the gross flavor. Now I have been eating chinese food for a very long time, and am familiar with those ingredients. Ok. I am also in the restaurant industry and know what good Kung pao tastes like. She RELUCTANTLY and FINALLY brought me something different, rose garden chicken, which I am almost positive was about 1/3 pork pieces mixed in there. My kid had chicken lo mein which I also tasted and was EXTREMELY bland. It was funny how they treated us so nicely until that complaint was made, then we were all of a sudden "the bad guy ". I ordered Szechuan chicken, Ming's Beef, chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings, crab rangoons, egg drop and hot n sour soup. The Szechuan and Ming's were extremely tasty. Definitely recommend! The food was pretty good except the broccoli in the Orange Beef was completely inedible, tough and chewy. The Rose Garden Chicken seemed a little light on chicken, but was also tasty. My main complaint is the use of styrofoam for takeout. There is a reason the majority of Chinese takeout comes in cardboard cartons! The Orange Beef, like any deep fried food is apt to do, melted right through the styrofoam leaving a bag full of sauce. One would think someone would have noticed this by now or listened to prior complaints. This level of apathy is unacceptable. Rose Garden is a deceptively wonderful place. While the interior has the feel of a mom & pop pizza place, it's simplicity and starkness is more than made up for by it's excellent staff and delicious food. The staff are always smiling, attentive, and pleasant. We have always been seated quickly and have our orders taken quickly as well. The food on the menu is standard Chinese fare and has all of the items you'd expect to find at any Chinese restaurant. The quality of the food is outstanding. Their Crispy Pork and Crispy Chicken are our favorites. We've also had the Mongolian Beef and several other dishes. All were excellent. A typical order comes with two Crab Ragoons, which are just about the best in the city. The Hot & Sour soups is also among the best I've had. My wife and I go here often. When we feel like taking our time and having a relaxing dinner in a quiet place, this is the ideal place to do it. If we want take out, our orders are ready quickly. Rose Garden is definitely one of our favorite eateries in Omaha. read more
