This summer's storms has been all sorts of nuts! My boyfriend and I were relaxing on a Tuesday night watching a cheesy rom com when we suddenly here a whooosh and the power goes out. Then we see lightning like we've never seen before and loud winds that lead to multiple trees and branches tumble to the road and take out powerlines. It was probably the scariest storm I had ever experienced. So what do we do for breakfast when we don't want to open the ice box? We head out of our town to find someplace to eat breakfast and we came upon the Okey Dokey Bar and Grill. We got here around 8:30 in the morning and we were happily greeted by the waitress and got seated promptly. There were a couple of other people enjoying breakfast already and it made us eager to eat. My boyfriend ordered a burrito with hashbrowns and I ordered an omelet with tomatoes, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese with a side of bacon and country potatoes. Once our meals came we were delightfully surprised at how delicious it was and the presentation was great!! Our waitress checked on us a few times and made sure we had everything we needed. My favorite part of breakfast is how unassuming the Okey Dokey Bar and Grill is. I'm thankful they are open early and have a great breakfast to offer. It's almost a hidden gem! Though the circumstances that lead us here for breakfast were pretty bad I'm glad we had a delicious breakfast here.

The Oky Doky used to be Danny's Bar and Grill but they had closed a while back. Oky Doky took over the spot, and while it has the same layout as Danny's, Oky Doky is a lot more modern and updated seeming than Danny's ever was. They started with just doing brunch and breakfast when they first opened, but just recently started doing dinner options, which is what we had when we went. We had dinner with a few friends, and Oky Doky was offering a special that was a bucket of six beers and a plate of wings for $20. For the wing sauce, we chose their normal bbq. The sauce was actually very good. The chicken wings themselves, though, were a little bit dry. You can ask for ranch with the wings, and that does help with the dryness so I recommend doing that. I think they may have just got their liquor license, because they had beer in cans/bottles, but the taps weren't being used yet. We didn't mind as we were there for the bucket/s of beer anyway LOL! They also had a few slot machines that were set up but maybe did not have license to allow use yet, as there were signs on them to not use the machines. We got the Potato Teezers as a shareable app. They were good on their own, but dipped in their ranch, they were amazing. They come super hot, so tearing them in half to cool them own is a good idea. For my entree, I ordered the meatloaf and it was super scrumptious - maybe a bit little bit TOO big, though (which some may appreciate). I asked for extra gravy along with my meal and that was definitely a good choice because it helped with covering that giant loaf! It comes with mashed potatoes and corn that tasted great all together. My husband got the steak dinner and he said it was a little fatty but he still found it to be pretty tasty, especially when paired with salt and pepper. It came with a loaded baked potato with sour cream, and butter. The staff was great and they were always coming by to make sure our table was clear/not too cluttered, and checking if we needed anything else. Overall I think they're still finding their footing a little on the dinner scene, but all in all it was pretty good as home -cooking style food goes! I'm excited to go back and try their breakfast.

First time here and anxious to go back to try the Benedict. I had the savory crepe with scrambled egg, bacon, green pepper , onion and mozzarella. Dad had basted with hash browns, bacon and wheat toast. His highlight was Irish cream for the coffee! Nice clean place and I'm so glad we didn't have to wait! Service was friendly, prompt and follow up was fantastic

    Double cheeseburger with extra pickles!
    Gabriel W.

I can't believe I ate the whole burger! This double cheeseburger and fries is huge! I love that I asked for extra pickles and they gave me a good amount! Anymore, when I stop at fast food I end up paying $12-15 and leave still hungry. I won't make that mistake again! This place is great for a burger and a beer and it feels like my hometown diner right across from McDonald's on 72nd and Blondo so spend the extra 20-30 minutes to get a really good burger. The bartender was super friendly and was there for all my requests. It has the feel of a small town bar with the lights dimmed and the 80' music playing on a hidden boombox. I'm ready to bring the family next time! Good stuff, you gotta give it a try!

The name says it...came her because hubby wanted to try a new place. I was a little skeptical when we got our coffee poured and after asking for creamer, it never came so I had to get up and asked for it at the bar. We ordered breakfast, all items came plus an extra order that she left but deleted from our check. I will say that the Divorced Eggs were one of my favorite items. The place is small and not too busy and pretty quiet.

We have been here three times in the last few months. This is definitely a mom and pop operation but good, quality food and very reasonable prices. Today I had a build it yourself omelette with eggs, peppers, bacon, cheddar, and onion with toast and hashbrowns--$10.99! Bookguy ordered steak and eggs--2 eggs, toast and hashbrowns. He got eggs over easy and medium rare steak. He said it was perfect and mine was delicious too. Steak and egg lovers, check it out!

Rare steak still cold in middle
    Nikki T.

My husband and I visited okey Dokey for lunch today my husband ordered country fried steak mashed potatoes and corn had to return because food was cold I ordered medium rare ribeye fries and side salad maybe not a good day for the cook my steak came out well done and croutons were stale so I asked again for medium rare steak came out rare still cold in the middle so I decided just to take it home for our dog well at least someone ate good today last time everything was good we went around 3 pm today if that helps waitress was kind and understanding just because there was only one other table in the restaurant doesn't mean you don't care about your food you're serving just disappointed this time

They should be getting their own sign soon!
    Haley J.

Doesn't look like much when you drive by or walk in. But wow. The prices are so reasonable, the food is soo good, and the staff is very friendly. It is definitely our new place to go to for everything breakfast & lunch. Follow them on FB as they post funny jokes and specials mostly every day. They are located right off 72nd & Blondo in the old Danny's Bar. The place is large if you walk into the back past the bar there is more seating!

    The Divorce Eggs! Outstanding!
    Brad S.

This has become our Sunday morning breakfast favorite! EVERYTHING we have ordered from the breakfast menu has been cooked to perfection! The head chef/cook has superb skills. A passion for cooking, great technique and, amazing flavors! I ordered the Divorce Eggs. This dish is now my favorite breakfast item! So much flavor in the rice, beans and the sauces! I'm in love with this dish! PLEASE support this mom and pop run restaurant!

    Divorced Eggs.
    Rosie A.

A Latin spin on a traditional American diner. The food was decent, and the service was good but slow. My husband had their Sunday special, which included eggs, bacon, and busquits and gravy. He liked the eggs. The bacon was not crispy. He said the busquits and gravy were a bit on the bland side. I had the divorced eggs. This is a Mexican dish. The beans were delicious, the rice was ok but the eggs were a bit runny for my taste. The server did not ask me how I wanted the eggs, and I feel they would have done them right had I asked. Had the eggs been how I like them, this would have definitely been one of my favorite meals. I will come back. Next time, I will ask for the eggs to be done how I like them. Eggs on tostadas and salsa are a delicious meal!! Our server spoke Spanish with us, which I thought was super nice.

DP ordered Lemon Berry Pancakes, a plate-filing short stack of goodness. I'd like to say it tasted as good as it looked, but I couldn't tell as DP chowed down like a hound from hell. In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

My husband is a much harsher critic than I am, and he gave it a "rare 5.5 out of 5." The pancakes were some of the fluffiest I've ever had. They also have a great selection of coffee flavors to choose from, which was a fun bonus. The coffee paired perfectly with breakfast, though I probably wouldn't come here just for the coffee alone. The flavor was good but it did have a slight burnt taste. A quick note: you order at the counter before sitting down. It's a mix of self-serve and sit-down service. You order at the counter, grab your own silverware, and seat yourself, but they bring your food and drinks out to you (other than water). I do wish they were a bit more attentive about clearing finished plates during the meal. The restaurant was so busy that the line was out the door when we arrived, but it moved surprisingly fast. I was worried we wouldn't find a table, yet there were plenty of open seats available. The atmosphere is also really nice and cozy, making it a great spot to start your day.

Water is self serve at the water stations and bathrooms are clean! Great little breakfast/brunch spot. I'd 100% return. What a memorable meal!

Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

They were fairly busy, and honestly our food took a bit to come out, but I am still giving a five due to the overall experience and quality of service. Our server Melannie was fantastic and always present. We did the bottomless mimosa deal (3 out of 4 of us) and she was always coming around asking us what flavor we wanted next when our current was still half full to make sure we got our moneys worth. The champagne might not be the fanciest, but for $20 bottomless mimosas I'll take it. They have fun flavors in addition to the basic ones like strawberry, mango, etc. which adds an element of fun. For food--there were several things I was eyeballing but landed on the spicy chorizo Benny. It was really good, eggs cooked perfect, and came with hashbrowns. Another at our table got the poutine which also looked yummy. I'd say the food portion could have included a bread/toast option, however If brunching in Omaha i'd return to try several things on the menu. The vibe inside is chill, would be more fun sitting outside once the weather warms up. Since I was the one that booked the reservation, the tab got a bit confusing. At first they were taking it off my total, then the server said that hold would come off so I paid for my meal/drinks there. I did end up getting double charged (for both the reservation hold and my meal) which was cleared up with a quick phone call to their establishment---apparently it is a new process they are trying. I do understand though why they wouldn't want to just deduct the hold as then people that don't know how to tip wouldn't tip on the total, which hurts the server. All was cleared up regarding this mishap though so no complaints.

May 25th, 2026 Food:…read moreWaited a whole hour for an easy order... which was a mini charcuterie board with a plate of avocado toast... when it was served... it looked pretty and at first I didnt mind about the long wait, but I was disappointed because it tasted like it was made an hour ago but was barely being served to me a whole hour later.. so yeah.. not worth it and now I do mind.. a soggy toast isn't on my list.. Ambiance: It was a nice regular refreshing bar/brunch spot. But safety was a HUGE issue which is where I'll get to my point of this low rating. Service: Is negative zero a thing? That goes to the owner... the 1 star is for the decent service my server attended towards me. In unfortunate events it's not the servers fault.. but overall with the owner coming out, couldnt be anymore careless.. The Cause: Either the owner or a staff employee whomever that is responsible for setting up the patio umbrellas, and I mean those large heavy metal patio umbrellas, well, they failed to lock the pole of the umbrella and unfortunately the umbrella lifted and blew away and had hit a family in the face that were dining there also; instant noticeable bruising to the face... I was only a table away from them.. it could have been me too. I am disappointed in the lack of care in general that surrounded the scene. Little 5 ft me... was the only one that came to help while everyone else sat around and minded their own business... it took a long while until one of the staff noticed to help and then the owner came out and awkwardly said a one word-sorry and dipped... didnt come back to offer any hospitality, non-genuine and non-apologetic... it made me lose my appetite. They had the audacity to still charge the family their meal... but I had to tell these really nice folks to make sure they get comped back. It was sickening to me on how careless they were treated. I would never come back! I mean an exaggerating long wait, cold soggy food and careless hospitality from the owner himself. That's three major strikes. P.s. That same wknd.. the news showed up about a South Carolina woman that was struck by a patio umbrella and died on site... that says alot about lacking safety. Yes, search it up. It's real news.. Hope this help improves the business alertness. P.p.s. And although I was disappointed at this dining-bar overall... I still tipped my server a good $20 as the situation was out of their control, my server was still attentive towards me. They all just need social common courtesy in empathy and hospitality. But anyways, my lunch ended with bittersweetness with the family that got struck, they comped my whole meal for genuinely being the only one that was concerned for them. The only service I'm grateful for was that.
