I regret coming here. I trusted Chris because of his years of experience but this was the worst…read moreexperience I've ever had with a pt. Similar to another poster, I spent around 15 minutes with Chris per session and even less when he was late (often 10-15 min after my appt time) getting me from the waiting room. He'd juggle 3 patients at once (nobody else at the clinic did this) and even when he didn't have this many patients I was alone while he was on the other side of the clinic or he just disappeared completely. When I brought up concerns about pain (not muscle pain or soreness), he'd just brush off my concerns and rush through my questions. Older reviews mentioned how friendly the pts are but this was not my experience. Chris was nice at first but then was checked out. Most of the time he was either glued to his computer looking at restaurant menus or chatting with his friends who came to see him. The final straw was hearing him make completely inappropriate comments.

With that said, my begrudging attendance at physical therapy is not so bad here because I know my PT is focused on helping my physical issues improve. I have worked with Kira while attending sessions, and she is always guiding me to do the best exercises for my post-surgeries' ailments and weaknesses. It's always the little exercises done the right way that make a world of difference. As time has passed, she has only encouraged me to push a little harder every time. I also appreciate that the focus here depends on the patient/client needs and interests. Some PT's simply don't have the ability to do this. Here, they watch you carefully and cautiously and record everything possible. They make you so Home exercises and emphasize the importance. They change weekly and daily sessions' exercises and therapy as needed, and they know, because they are asking the questions to be asked as related to your lifestyle needs and goals. They make sure you are being truthful because they'll watch you in the exercises and check your strength themselves, as well as testing and pushing your muscles and movement themselves. I am so happy to have gone to PhysioDC, but happier that I don't need to go anymore!

Dr. Ben is in the same "Practice" so I knew he would be good. Dr. Marc set me up an appt. for the next day... I read up on Dr Ben and this guy has serious "clout" in the foot and ankle ortho world READ HIS BIO I went into the appt knowing I was in good hands. My bunion was not only ugly but was interfering with my day to day and it hurt by days end. I had a lot of question for Dr Ben and he guided me to the best way to address my bunion. On a side note, I was fascinated by the engineering behind the surgery , Dr Stein answered all my questions and it was fascinating how the procedure is done and also the history of bunion surgery and all it's advances. Dr Ben is great/efficient/quick so I wasn't under anesthesia long. I know that is a concern for some people, but I have a strong heart asf Props to the Mass Ave Surgical Center! lol, not my first trip there and always "concierge" service. Everyone's post-op is gonna be different...mine required ICE! Ice on the ankle to manage post op pain. After a day I really didn't have pain to speak of. Swelling, yes. That took some time to recede but it is the foot and I am not one to sit around. I subscribe to and practice "active recovery" I bought a knee scooter but rarely used it. I mostly used a crutch or walked on the heel of my foot in a boot ...OH!! post-procedure-showers. I found the best shower-bootie. I'll include a photo in the pics. My bone was completely healed in two months! Swelling...four months Bottm line, Dr Ben is your man! I recommend him to my clients that endure with bunions asf

Excellence, Convenience, Compassion…read more I needed serious rehabilitation on my very painful shoulder from a chronic tennis injury. Referral to the STAR group (lead by Katherine Braun) was a total bingo. Initial evaluation by Katherine was comprehensive and thoughtful, and I was helped by her printouts of beginning exercises to do at home. Ongoing therapy with Allison was personalized, effective, and encouraging, especially when I needed it most. Alison made videos of me doing several exercises I did at the facility, so I could repeat the exercises at home. That helped a lot. Allison is a professional gem. Am back to tennis! The entire professional and administrative staff is wonderful and supportive. This group deserves the outstanding respect they have earned, and they also have my deep gratitude. As a physician, I will surely recommend them highly to others

So I had had previous experience with this kind of treatment. The time I spent at Star was the best. To begin with, the facility is pleasant, with large windows, and very well laid out so that three or four therapists can work freely with patients with different levels of need. The atmosphere is welcoming and exudes a sense of community, working together to produce comfort and high performance. Sam Dozier, receptionist and Therapist Aide, greets people warmly, tirelessly arranges schedules to suit your convenience, and throughout your time there offers compassionate support. I worked alternately with Kyra Corradin and Aysha Ehsan. To sum up, I found them to be kind, caring, and focused. They are professionals with a special understanding of the power of movement to refresh and restore. Although work in the sessions is directed to particular areas of the body, the target is the whole person, not just a sore neck or knee. Kyra and Aysha began each session by asking how I was feeling that day with an interest not only in physical issues, but also in my spirits and general outlook. Their goal was to make me feel better through movement specifically directed to areas needing attention. If I indicated pain in a particular area, they would begin by massaging that spot, literally demonstrating the common expression, "I can feel your pain." I always did feel better after my sessions. However, both therapists strongly emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility for learning and doing prescribed exercises at home. I thought they were great teachers, very good practitioners of their trade, and good at motivating me to carry on the lessons ourselves.

I had been having trouble with persistent Achilles tendon and planter fascia issues. I previously had done physical therapy for about three months with a different provider, but it really did not solve the problem. When I landed on Ms. Dickson's door step, I was in a lot of pain and had been dealing with the issue for over a year. Ms. Dickson was very patient with me and spent much one-on-one time isolating the various issues. She is different from the typical physical therapy places in the sense that she won't give up on you, gives you tons of individual attention and works on the ailing body part or parts (!) to get everything in working properly and in alignment. My previous experiences with physical therapy generally included maybe 15 minutes with the physical therapist before being handed off to an assistant for the exercise portion of the therapy. Ms. Dickson works with you exclusively, both in the hands on work and the exercise portion. Her office is very well run. While she doesn't process insurance, she will provide the documentation needed to submit to your individual insurance company and this documentation is provided promptly. My insurance company accepted her bills without question. She also has an automated email reminder of upcoming appointments which I found helpful. Finally, and most importantly, she checks in with you regularly and is available for any questions or concerns. Ms. Dickson responds quickly to any questions I had, which I have greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Danelle Dickson for any physical therapy needs you may have. She has been a lifesaver for me -- I am extremely pleased with the level of care and results that I have experienced at her practice.

And he goes hands-on whether it be massage or be cupping. And then gives you exercises and make sure you don't leave until you understand what you have to do. I even convinced my own wife to give Jordan a try as her PT and she truly understood what I was talking about. The front office staff is always helpful and polite Every time I call she picks up immediately and it's very helpful. They take my type of insurance which would be a dealbreaker if they did not accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. So read that stance again- this practice TAKES INSURANCE. For most people that means nothing- there's an assumption of we have insurance so a practices should take it. As an insurance accepting practice myself- that is NOT how it works. Small medical practice's (solo woman owned / mom and pop establishments etc like this one)- take a HUGE hit when accepting insurance contracts for their reimbursement. At this point many small business are getting paid HALF of what their cash only / self pay only counterparts are getting paid. Also- keep in mind, an insurance contract doesn't increase with inflation, cost of living, rising employer salaries etc.... I give the business lesson because it's only fair for people to be informed as to why a business structure is what it is for the sake of survival... Now on to the actual PRACTITIONERS- this staff is honestly saving people from surgeries, worsening conditions, and maladaptive body patterns... I've been working with them for 8-9 years and my mom now drives from VA to go to them as well. They're priceless in their cleanliness, knowledge, anatomy and functionality awareness plus FULL body attention. I cannot express how many times a DOCTOR or SURGEON has sent me in for an issue- and they've figured out it's stemming from somewhere totally different ! They also are certified to do dry needling and that's PRICELESS !!
