5 stars for the best ice cream on the planet. Don't see the most amazing flavor you can imagine? Tell the guy, they will probably make it one day. It's a small batch creamery. We suggested carrot cake ice cream, guess what... they made it! But I mean it wasn't even my favorite one, there are so many good ones. Get it. It's good. I mean real good. Yes, this very conservative reviewer gave Rose Rock 5 stars!!! Today my phone said 103, and the car said it was 107, so it was a perfect day for ice cream. Rose Rock is easily accessible via parking right out front. The shop is clean, well lit,and has a family vibe, well, except for the classic rock playing on the radio. But I'm certainly not complaining about that. The ice cream is freshly made, with vegan options. I got a waffle cone with Madagascar Vanilla and Midnight Chocolate. The vanilla was great, but there are no words to describe the wonderfulness of that chocolate. It even had a hint of marshmallow flavor. Both flavors were smooth and perfectly creamy. read more

This place was so cool! I'm a little upset that we don't have this place in Arizona, because I would be a frequent visitor. Absolutely love this place. Cute little rooftop shop, which gets very busy! They have a unique variety of flavors and the ice cream is just so fresh. I love the lavender honey, banana pudding, Vietnamese coffee and cookies n' cream. They can even give you waffle chips on the side if you'd like! **Kid Review** I absolutely love ice cream and so we went out for a special treat! I have never been to the Boxyard so I was excited to go. As we went inside, there were many homemade flavors to chose from! I got the cookies and cream and my brother got the salted caramel. I actually thought it was gelato at first because it was so smooth! It was probably the best ice cream I have ever had because of its creamy taste and texture. My mom said everything was locally sourced. There is a lot of seating outside and next time I'm going to choose the Midnight Chocolate as my flavor. I was so excited to see this place right next to our hotel (Tulsa Club - highly recommend). I mean, step out the door and ice cream ten yards away? It better be good. It was. I was there three times in four days, twice in one day. Each flavor was better than the next. The banana pudding ice cream tasted like it's name. It mixed well with the butter cake flavor. I tasted the coffee; it was one of the best coffee ice creams I've ever had. The namesake Rose Rock is strawberry with chocolate chis and pecans; a friend who doesn't like strawberry highly recommended it. The sleeper is chocolate rosemary. Yes, rosemary. You will absolutely know it's there, but once you get past the first taste you will be stunned at how that combo comes together. I don't personally try the vegan flavors but a friend gave them thumbs up. If you get a chance to go, do not miss this place. In our house, Blue Bell is the standard, and I might prefer going to Rose Rock. read more

Audrey S. and I absolutely love this little creamery. It is situated perfectly in the Boxyard and is a walk through establishment. You will find seating outside. The perks we enjoy are that you can taste (a generous spoonful) any flavour before committing to a cup, cone or even a pint. All of the types I have tried were all amazing! Such a yummy stop during our weekend in Tulsa. Boyfriend got the Vietnamese coffee and banana pudding and loved both of them. I tried the pear cinnamon ginger and rose rock flavors and both were amazing. Glad to see multiple vegan options as well! read more

This ice cream shop is located in a cool area of Tulsa. Basically all the shops are made from shipping containers. Somehow the day we went, not much of the other stores were open so everything was barren but we were still able to admire how the whole shopping center was made from these containers. The ice cream shop is located on the second floor and there is limited indoor seating but there is outdoor seating as well. Many interesting flavors and I'm biased but when an ice cream shop feature lavender and honey, they already won a piece of my heart. My friends and I all shared a flight of ice cream which features 5 scoops so we were able to try a good variety. I admit that I've had smoother ice cream back in Dallas but this place really isn't bad. We all thought the flavors were wonderful and you can never have too much ice cream! read more

very good & extremely different. i got the strawberry, white pepper & balsamic while my daughter got blue hawaiian. the flavor i got was definitely out of the box AND it was tasty. i couldn't even taste the white pepper, well disguised. also, the balsamic wasn't as strong as i expected, it was a swirl & not as heavy. the blue hawaiian taste like blue coconut to me, pineapples were mixed in as well. my daughter enjoyed it. their scoop sizes were good amounts to the point my daughter couldn't finish it all. the prices are reasonable as well. the employees were attentive & friendly, that's plus when my daughter's with me. a lot of options to choose from, THERE ARE NO CLICHE FLAVORS!!!! last but not least, when i came back in to throw my trash away, i saw by the register that they have chocolate chip cookie bowls. yeah. i'll be back. read more

One of the best things I accidentally discovered in Tulsa! Although I miss their old location, their new location isn't so bad if you're wandering downtown. I love how this place rotates unique flavors, but I can't express enough how amazing their signature Rose Rock flavor is! Obsessed is an understatement. I have literally been to this Microcreamery every single weekend I have visited Tulsa since I learned about it. We even braved 20 degree, freezing, windy weather to try this place for the first time. The biggest thing that keeps me coming back? The vegan flavors/options. So far, I have ordered all smalls (because that is the perfect serving size). I tried a double vegan chocolate, vegan cinnamon and rose something (I can't remember the full name) and vegan cinnamon and lavender agave. The vegan chocolate is very rich, VERY rich, but VERY good. I'm not sure I would get a double again, but I will definitely eat it again. The vegan cinnamon has become my absolute favorite and perfect pairing with any of the flavors. The floral flavors are what have caught me the most off guard. To be honest, I never expected myself to like floral ice cream, but I LOVE it. These flavors are so light, fresh and delightful. Hooked is the right word for it. I can't vouch for their dairy ice cream, but their vegan ice cream is so creamy and smooth, it melts in your mouth. I'm excited to try new flavors in the future already. The Microcreamery is located on the second floor of a bunch of boxcars, which makes it a little fun. The shop is small, but they have figured out a flow that works. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. Give it a try, you'll want to come back, promise. read more

Rose Rock Is my favorite ice cream place in Tulsa. It's super fun to take "out of towners" to see The Boxyard and they have a large variety of flavors for everyone's dietary needs. I would highly recommend their "Salted Caramel" ice cream. It's AH-mazing. Best paired with midnight chocolate or Rose Rock. read more

In Tulsa for a workshop, our group headed out one evening to check out the microcreams at Rose Rock. Rose Rock microcreamery makes their ice cream in 2.5 gallon batches, so they create incredible flavor combinations. Never tried ice cream ingredients like chamomile, lavender, thyme, balsamic and white pepper? Trust the process. Trying one flavor seemed like a wasted opportunity to, so I had both midnight chocolate and berry sorbet. Mine was in a dish, but waffle cones are made fresh as you wait. Speaking of the wait, there is one. Roughly 15-30 minutes, depending on the crowd. Enjoy yourself. There's a great city view from the second floor of The Boxyard, and the industrial setting is flat-out cool. Both flavors were incredible. Midnight chocolate was rich, smooth and creamy. Berry sorbet was light with several layers of flavor. The portion sizes are large, two scoops was a lot of ice cream for me. And I love ice cream. Will definitely visit Rose Rock microcreamery again when in Tulsa. read more

We went here tonight after an awful dinner at Prairie Brewpub--it was only a few minutes away and we promised our daughter a sweet treat after dinner. It's in a shipping container (the whole area is shipping containers, which is cool), but if you're serving ice cream in winter, you need some kind of heat source going on. It was freezing in there. We got our daughter a kid's size of the Rose Rock (strawberry with toasted pecans and chocolate): toddler-approved. Actually, who are we kidding, that child has never met an ice cream flavor she didn't like. But it was delicious. One of us got a small bowl with malted maple and gingerbread and the other got a small with cookies-n-cream and pecan pie. The texture of the ice cream here is almost gelato-like in that it's very creamy and a bit stretchy. We loved all the flavors (pecan pie was SO good) except the gingerbread, which tasted rancid to us. The two scooper dudes were friendly enough, but not the most professional (one guy was sitting on the freezer on his phone after he finished helping us). Overall, a very nice end to the evening and we can definitely see how this place would be even better in warmer weather. read more

Definitely would order this again. But there's the thing. If you take it outside, your soft serve is going to disintegrate. It just will, because the heat in Oklahoma is stronger. I ran back inside and they gave me a bigger cup, in which I placed my original cup, saving what was left of my dessert. I probably would request a larger cup for this purpose alone, knowing what I know now. The workers were helpful and friendly. Instead, I got even more unprofessional behavior. The manager dismissed the situation with "I'm not the one who did that." That's not the point--you're the manager, and it's your responsibility to address how customers are treated. When I pressed the issue, she escalated things further by cussing at me over the phone. Completely unacceptable. I've already filed a formal complaint with corporate, but given that complaints appear to be outsourced and handled with little accountability, I'm not holding my breath. If this is the standard of service at this location, customers should seriously consider going elsewhere. Respect costs nothing--and this place seems unwilling to offer even that.
