I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered at Sonic Drive-In. I stopped by around 6:30 a.m. on Monday--like many night shift workers, this is my "dinner time"--and was immediately met with disrespect. Instead of a simple greeting like "Welcome to Sonic," I was bluntly hit with "What do you want?" over the speaker. No courtesy, no professionalism--just attitude. I let it go and said I had a mobile order for Larry, only to be told "pull forward" in a rude, demanding tone. It didn't get better. When my food came out, the employee practically shoved the bags into my face--aggressive and completely unnecessary. At that point, it was clear this wasn't just a bad moment; it was a complete lack of basic customer service. I called the store to speak with a manager, hoping to resolve the issue. Instead, I got even more unprofessional behavior. The manager dismissed the situation with "I'm not the one who did that." That's not the point--you're the manager, and it's your responsibility to address how customers are treated. When I pressed the issue, she escalated things further by cussing at me over the phone. Completely unacceptable. I've already filed a formal complaint with corporate, but given that complaints appear to be outsourced and handled with little accountability, I'm not holding my breath. If this is the standard of service at this location, customers should seriously consider going elsewhere. Respect costs nothing--and this place seems unwilling to offer even that. read more

My grandchildren took me out for ice cream and what an experience. The ice cream was delicious and we got a fun experience. It's a cute little ice cream cafe with fun decorations and servers who do more than serve. They also entertain they pour your ice cream onto a slab and refreeze it. Then they roll the thin slab of ice cream into pretty little sticks. About 8 sticks of ice cream fit into a dish. Went around the 2nd week they were opened. There was a line wrapped around the inside of the building. I don't blame the staff, because there is only so many stations and they can only make one cup at a time. The problem was with the process of taking orders and then people not moving further down the line. Yes everyone wants to watch their ice cream get made, but move over or get out of the way and then move up when you see that it's your turn. The ordering process is relatively simple though, select your "flavor" which is a flavored milk base that is then flavored by some ingredients, then you get to choose upto 3 toppings. They'll put the milk base down on the frozen metal table, the mix in the flavoring items whether that be a cookie or fruit, flatten it all out and then roll it up into 5 or 6 strips. I noticed that if your were getting something fruit flavored they would only put one or two pieces in. It's really not enough to flavor anything and hence the true problem of this place. Concept is cool, execution is neat, but end result is underwhelming. Certainly wasn't worth the 45 minute wait or really the price. You get to pick your flavor (the flavors are a base with toppings smashed in) and then add 3 toppings of your choice. I had the evil berry flavor (vanilla with blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries) ice cream with coconut flakes, whipped cream, and a graham cracker. It was very tasty and fairly light compared to other ice cream. My friend had the cookie monster flavor (vanilla with Oreo) ice cream with an Oreo, a toasted marshmallow, and a strawberry. I got to try a bite and I have to say I think she ordered better than I did. Plus with the toasted marshmallow and the presentation of the strawberry, it was just downright photogenic. Watching them make the rolled ice cream was probably more fun than even eating it, but I would not plan to come here if you are in a hurry. Perhaps it's because it's new or because we came on a busy night, but we waited almost half an hour. I suggest that maybe they paint one of the walls with a chalkboard paint and then allow people to write on there. Just because the floor was a little bit littered with the sticky notes as well. Then on the wall are the combos. Each bowl holds 6 rolls and cost $5.99 each with the flavor combo plus 3 toppings. I chose to get the key lime pie rolls, which were: kiwi, cream base ice cream, graham cracker, and lime juice. It was DELICIOUS! The three toppings I chose were toasted marshmallow (THAT THEY TORCH IN FRONT OF YOU!! HOW AWESOME), fresh strawberry (THAT THEY CUT IN FRONT OF YOU! NO OLD FRUIT!! GREAT!), and whipped cream! They make the ice cream right in front of you which is awesome! First they pour the ice cream base down (unless you have nutella, then they put that on the grill first), then they cut up the mixed in ingredients, spread it thin across the grill once it's all mixed in, and then roll it up! Send it to the toppings department and VIOLA!!! Rolled ice cream! Takes about 2-3 minutes to complete per cup! The ice cream is soo good! It's very tasty, not overly sweet! It's a creamy consistency once it melts in your mouth! I found it was easier for me to pick up the roll and eat it with my hand vs a spoon until it started to melt a little. Seating was cool! Little tables that were orange and white with cows on it and comfortable orange leather stool seats to match! They also played some of the top hip-hop and pop songs on the speaker so it was like a cool and hip place to be at (I'm 26 years old, it was nice to go to an ice cream place that wasn't just aimed at kids). This place was extremely dirty. There were ants everywhere. Every table that was open hadn't been cleaned in a while. We asked for our table to be cleaned off and someone came over right away. However, the rag he cleaned our table with was dirty and smelled sour. The ice cream was not good at all. You know it's bad when your kids don't like it and won't finish more than a couple of bites. It is a cool concept but the ice cream is extremely dry and not easy to cut into with a plastic spoon. The ice cream quality itself tastes like generic freezer-burned stuff. Not even the cheap stuff you can buy at the grocery store. The time it took to make the ice cream is another area that needs improvement. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our ice cream. The process looks really labor intensive and I'm sure that's why it took so long. One additional item that I view as odd is the sticky notes that customers can leave on the walls, doors, and even on the napkin dispensers on the tables. Some messages were really obscene. I don't blame the company for this but they may want to think through how to improve this process. I mean, c'mon, kids don't need to see some of that stuff. Finally, the cost is way out of line for the value they offer. It was more than $26 for 4 ice creams. I should have just thrown my $26 away. They are no where near any ice cream shop I have visited in Tulsa as far as cleanliness, quality, or service. read more
