My father lived at home for 94 years, but after a brief illness, he was hospitalized. When the…read morehospital planned to discharge him, we realized he wasn't ready to go home alone and would need assistance to regain his strength. We toured Carlton Senior Living and were impressed with the facility. However, after less than three weeks, we discovered it wasn't suitable for him and moved him out. While the staff were friendly, the place was clean, the food was good, and the grounds were pleasant, it was not a fit for someone like my father that needed more assistance. Knowing what I do now, the place is ideal for those who want to avoid housework, engage in activities, and not cook. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for someone needing assistance with basic tasks like using the bathroom or showering. My dad required more help, which led to significant additional costs--almost doubling the original quote. The staff didn't respond quickly enough when he needed assistance. On one occasion, he needed assistance and couldn't wait any longer for help. He tried to get up by himself and fell, hitting his head and requiring paramedics. I also requested multiple times that his night lamp be connected to the Alexa outlet for voice control, but that never happened. He was frustrated with the lack of assistance, in a timely manner, so we looked for alternatives. After moving him out, I was shocked to receive a bill for over $10,000 more than expected. This added to the emotional stress I was already experiencing. After pointing this out, the bill was corrected but I should not have had to do their accountants job. We eventually moved my father to a board-and-care residential facility, which is providing the care he truly needs, and I wish we had made that choice from the beginning.

The cost is much more reasonable and we actually get much more care for her than we ever did at Oakmont in the two+ years she was there. We would highly recommend the Carlton!! I even ran into a couple of staff from there and when they found out my grandmother lived there, they asked me so many questions to provide the best care for her. We love Carlton!! Thank you guys for really putting the residents first!

I wanted to leave a review as I see there haven't been many recently…read more My dad with severe dementia and Parkinson's was part of the All Seasons community for just under 3 months. I can't say enough good things about All Seasons. First I will start with Toly the owner . From the time I reached out, he was attentive, communicative and kind. He spent so much time with me, easing my fears and worries that we would find the right place for my dad. He kept me updated all along the way with the waiting process. And he gave me such good advice during the time we were waiting for a spot to open up for my dad. I will never forget the kindness and compassion and dignity he showed our family along the entire process. Second, Lauren, the house manager at the home my dad was in. From day one, she came alongside my dad-really wanting to know him, to understand him, and to help him thrive during his time at All Seasons. Her care and love for dementia patients and their families is second to none. I was constantly amazed at not only her patience and kindness towards my dad (who was very difficult a lot of time) but also to us as his family who were trying to navigate the difficult behaviors and circumstances surrounding his disease. We will forever be indebted with gratitude that my dad had Lauren as his caregiver and advocate for the last part of his life. Also, Hector, Lilly, Melissa and so many more. All the caregiver at All Seasons seemed to be called to care for these special patients. My dad had previously been in a large memory care. For everyone there-it was a job and only that. Not at All Seasons. They hire only those who truly care about patients living with dementia. As a nurse of 28 years, I can whole heartedly recommend All Seasons for your loved one with dementia.

Blossom Vale Senior Living in Orangevale is a wonderful senior living community for a loved one who…read moreis no longer able or willing to live alone. Mom toured five senior living facilities but chose Blossom Vale because it felt warm and friendly. She passed away a few months ago and we are grateful her last few years were spent living in her own apartment, surrounded by caring staff and new friends and the many social activities she absolutely loved. Activities are plentiful and Jessica Hernandez, the director of Activities and Life Enrichment, is loved by all. Jessica truly cares about her residents and their well-being. She has recently been joined by Joey who is talented, fun and great with the residents. Patrice Scott, the Dining Services Director, and her staff are committed to bringing dining pleasure to the residents. The dining room staff works hard but always with a smile and with respect. Mom loved her meals at Blossom Vale! In Mom's last months, it became necessary for her to have more in the way of care. We are so impressed with Blossom Vale's Wellness Department. Care and communication with family is great. Chrystal Perez, the Wellness Director, and Preet Cheema, the Wellness Coordinator, have a clear philosophy of caring from the heart and their staff reflects that. Caring for the needs of the elderly is not always easy and requires compassion, kindness and preservation of the dignity of the person receiving care. The med techs and caregivers at Blossom Vale excel at that. They are angels on earth! Blossom Vale really is a special community. Danielle Shanklin, the administrator, really cares about her community and upholding its reputation as a special place. Brendan, the master of maintenance and technology, has such a caring heart. Jessica Brass, the business director, is a joy and always helpful. So many kind and caring employees, I wish I could name them all. If you are searching for a senior living home with a genuinely caring community, Blossom Vale is the place!

Blossom Vale Assisted Living Facility does not keep their word or honor contracts. The contract…read morethat we signed stated that level one of care would be an additional $500 a month added to her base rent . In September 2024, they raised her level 1 charge from $500 to $600 a month. They agreed to waive the increase but then two months later charged $700 a month extra. They said that it was an error but they never refunded the $200. So I started looking for another facility to move her to since they do not honor our contract nor their word of waving the increase. I called in December to find out the procedure for giving a 30-day notice. I called several times. I was not able to leave a formal 30-day notice because I could not get a hold of anyone who could tell me if there was a specific form that had to be filled out. In January they charged me the full rent plus the $700 for level one plus an 8% annual increase. So now I've been overcharged twice. In an email they said that a lot of errors were done in the January billing. It is March 11 and I still have not been given a refund for being overcharged $400 between the two months. They still did not return phone calls so I submitted an email on January 3rd for a 30-day notice. This was the second time that I told them that I was moving my mom so I did give a notice prior to January 3rd. She moved out Jan 25 and they charged full rent for February. They did not refund the full charge. When she moved out we were not told that we owed any additional fees. On top of that, the living conditions were horrendous. The toilet was black from lack of cleaning. We pay for cleaning. My mom says she doesn't want cleaning and turns them away but that is not allowed according to Blossom Vale when we signed the contract. They assured me that her room would be kept clean as my mom is a hoarder and there were concerns. They knew the condition of her room because they bring her her meds two times a day This is a health issue as used Kleenex were all over the floor, and in her chair. The room was not clean. The sheets were not clean. The cleaner went in and removed styrofoam cups and that was it. The upstairs walk ways are not regularly vacuumed as they were dirty the last 3 times I was there.

All Seasons' excellence would have been quite obvious to us even if we had not had to deal with…read moreseveral less-competent facilities earlier in the process of caring for our parents, but those experiences made us even more impressed with All Seasons and its staff, management, and philosophy of care. All Seasons' greatest asset is its staff of extraordinary caregivers, who are amazingly patient with the very difficult demands of memory-care residents, precisely tuned in to their needs and wants, and excruciatingly careful about every detail of their care. (Other facilities promised us expert staff, but only at All Seasons did we see such dementia expertise in action on a continuous basis.) Their great staff includes - and is clearly a result of - their excellent, hard-working, and eagle-eyed management, from the brilliant house manager who seems like she's on the job all day every day making sure her residents are well cared for, to the wonderful Operations Director who carefully supervises all the houses, to the owner himself, who supports and encourages his staff to learn and grow and realize his expectations of excellence. (When we first visited All Seasons, we had expected to meet a Marketing Director so we could hear an official corporate sales pitch like the ones we'd heard at other places. Instead, we were invited to stop by and speak to whatever caregivers were on duty that day, because every employee is expected to be honest and forthright with families of both residents and prospective residents. 90% of what we had been promised at other facilities turned out to be exaggerations if not outright fabrications; 100% of what we heard from the caregivers at All Seasons proved to be totally accurate! And that level of honesty set the tone for dad's time at All Seasons - a total reversal of what we had encountered at his previous care facility, where the fabrications and excuses had continued throughout his entire stay.) The words "tender-loving care" are sometimes overused but they are appropriate to use here. When we brought our dad here we were promised care in more than just the physical sense: we were promised that he would receive attention, compassion, and love - and that he did, in great abundance. Not only was dad pretty well spoiled by his caregivers at All Seasons, but so were we, his family! - because All Seasons uniquely understands that residents' families are a significant component of the care equation. When dad was at his previous facilities, our (well-placed) anxieties about his (often inadequate) care most certainly were visible to him and most certainly resulted in anxieties of his own. All Seasons was the only facility where we felt everything was very well under control and we did not need to constantly look over the staff's shoulders to make sure they were (take your pick: giving him his proper meds at the proper times without letting him throw them on the floor, making sure he showered, making sure he was wearing clean clothes, etc etc). When dad moved into All Seasons, we were able to finally relax for the first time in several years! All Seasons' facility is well constructed and maintained, and set in a beautiful rural setting with lovely views. Each resident has a large private room with private bath and a French door allowing unrestricted access to the wraparound porch and the fresh country breezes. The property is fenced for security so the residents can take advantage of their freedom to roam outdoors without fear that they'll wander off the property. This was the one place dad lived where he did not complain he was "in prison". In short, and in summary, All Seasons is the one care facility that made us feel that dad was receiving the kind of care we wanted him to receive, from people who cared about him as much as we did. And now that dad is gone, we not only miss him, but we miss his caregivers and his fellow residents quite a lot! Our family has already recommended All Seasons to other families seeking the highest-quality elder care available, and we would not hesitate to recommend them again. They are, simply put, the best, bar none.

The one thing that stood out for him and our family was the relationships that were formed with all levels of staff. Our father referred to Oakmont as his family. Our father spend the last 9 months of his life at Oakmont. Each day was different with many things that were offered and available to him. He took the bus tours, he played (and a force to be reckoned with) Bingo. He started a putting club and got people interested in putting around on a green. He enjoyed the entertainment that came in regularly for "sing song" as he like to say. And he really enjoyed the themed holiday decorations that came out. He felt a part of. The care staff did a fabulous job keeping him informed and with any kind of assistance. When he had a question they were eager to help. Everyone knew his name and he appreciated being recognized and talked to like a friend or family member. Anything he needed was taken care of. Any questions that came up, the staff communicated with our family and were also available to answer any of our questions. The Chef and Dining experience. Oakmont of Fair Oaks did not serve "restaurant" food each day. They served gourmet meals that were very delicious. The staff formed relationships with our father and he came to have a standing order, "the usual". For the holidays we as his family were invited in to share in holiday celebrations. If you appreciate direct and open communication with your questions answered or additional clarification needed from the family. And you value the forming of relationships, personal relationships, Oakmont of Fair Oaks did both of those with our father and my brother and I. My father felt as though he was at home and could spend the remaining months of his life with people who cared about him.
