West Coast Pet Memorial - Jack and mama

    West Coast Pet Memorial

Our Jack passed away in my arms suddenly at home on January 1, 2026. We took him in to West Coast…read morePet Memorial the next day for a private/individual cremation. The day was so hard and I just didn't want to let him go. He was my heart, my best boy. We were treated with compassion, respect and knew we were leaving him in good hands. We got him back a week later. His urn is beautiful, and the presentation was more than we expected. The paw print in clay sits on a stand next to his urn. I still miss him terribly, and cry daily. But I know he was treated so well there.

Our Junior passed away after a long and hard fight with FIV. We took him in last summer after he…read morespent most of his 14 years on the streets being abused. He was terrified of people but came to trust us as we cared for him. He declined quickly and we made the tough decision to say goodbye at Wilvet South. They work with this company and sent Junior to them with our permission. We got an email from WCPM less than an hour after Junior was gone. We took a couple of days to grieve and process and made the selections on the website. We chose the photo urn and a clay pawprint. We submitted our choices and paid on 4/28, two days after Junior left us. He was cremated on 5/1 and we didn't receive notification that he was ready until 5/6. Longer than expected, but maybe they're very busy right now. My partner went and picked Junior up. We live very close so it was convenient. He said the person he talked to was friendly and the process was quick: just sign a form and you get your pet back. Junior was in a velvet bag that was placed inside a paper gift bag. His pawprint was in a case similar to a jewelry case. There was an unmarked envelope that contained a certificate of cremation, which was a bit unexpected. We were expecting a card or something nice, not something so....clinical. The urn is fine, it looks a bit cheap. You have to unscrew it from the bottom and see your pets ashes in a bag if you want to put a photo in it. That's a bit much for us so we are going to see if we can slot a photo of our special boy in through the front of the frame instead. The thing that really dropped my rating happened today, the day after we brought Junior home. I was cleaning up and dealing with the bags left over after we put Junior on our mantle. The velvet bag has cremains on the outside of it. I picked it up and immediately touched the cremains of a pet, and I'm choosing to tell myself that it's not my Junior because that would break me in ways I can't even describe. It was clear that whoever packed our boy up put the bag on a surface that had cremains spilled on it. The cremains looked and felt like both ash and ground up bone. I immediately felt sick to my stomach and felt like I was going to pass out. What kind of careless person spills someone's beloved pet, doesn't clean it up, and then puts a pretty bag that goes to the client on top of that? How do you not immediately clean up something like that? Is the work area such a mess that this is unavoidable? Do they just spill cremains all over the place? Do they empty the cremulator all over a countertop and just sweep the remains into a plastic bag? What are they doing that this happened? It's completely unacceptable and the several people I've told about it have agreed. It was incredibly upsetting in the moment and now I'm just furious that these people were careless enough to allow it to happen. I would not allow WCPM to take care of another pet of mine when they're gone. We didn't have a choice this time, but next time I'm going to make sure we do. I can't go through seeing and touching that again. Do better, West Coast Pet Memorial.

I just wish they were closer to Roseburg (NOT their problem)…read more Nice new vet knew her stuff, pleasant surroundings, I was far happier than the pets were, two of them had dental work. Maybe the front desk could have been a little more pleasant, but she might have just had a bad day.

I would give lessons zero reviews at this point if I could.... I moved up here in December, I have…read morerequested emergency veterinary services on two separate occasions (followed up to try to schedule normal appointments to establish routine veterinary care and schedules Faye neuter)..... only to find out the soonest they could get me in was six months in the future for an emergency( I was quoted July originally, for a potential abscess... the front desk person did not seem to understand why six months for a potential abscess was a death sentence. Nor did they seem to have basic medical training that would permit them to be appropriate for the position ). I just called for an emergency euthanasia for a separate animal, either via appointment or home visit... they were unable to accompany, seemed shocked that I would request recommendations... and then the secretary was like " what do you expect? We are the only veterinarian clinic in the area... so of course we're booked out" ... this is what you get when you hire paper pushers! Not people who are actually medically trained with a bedside manner... If we were to treat human patients in the same manner, this office would get shut down... the owner /head v veterinarian is welcome to reach out... after all, it is the doctor's name on the practice, and they are responsible for overseeing their staff I'm sorry if it's not obvious, then hire additional staff!! if you need additional vets and techs to serve the volume of clients in your area... then do so!! (if this doctors office served humans, they would've been shut down, ... because doctors, who swear to hippa cannot turn down emergency patients ) choosing to maintain a monopoly over the market in the area and be selective with your clients, is illegal and immoral.... I would be happy to edit my review once they are able to meet the basic needs of the clientele Update: the office called back, apologized for the confusion, stated that they would never postpone emergency visits like those described in the post, requested my dog's medical records, and promised to get me in this afternoon, following the vet surgery schedule or the following day at the latest... I just called back and the receptionist gave me the " I'm sorry I don't know who told you that, but we're fully booked out.." I really do not appreciate liars. Disappointing beyond belief. (Edit for clarification: I was not offered an appointment until after I posted the review... then when I called back to schedule the appointment as requested, the receptionist had zero availability. I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication between the owner and staff... but I have experience training medical practices to implement new procedures and expedite patient visits without minimizing, security or safety... there is plenty of room for improvement at this practice and Im glad to hear they are actively looking for new employees... from my understanding, the market is currently flooded with qualified candidates looking for jobs... so getting applicants should not be difficult . I look forward to reading those job ads.)
